A nursing home that clearly cares for its residents and will work with the family for the best outcomes. Good practice shines through especially during the COVID-19 outbreak. All staff have gone above and beyond not only for the resident there but for the families who have sadly lost loved ones too
soon.
Reply from Gulzar Nazir, Manager at Kenyon LodgeThanks for the lovely comment and support, we will continue to support residents and families.

I am very impressed by the caring attitude and professionalism of all the staff I've met and spoken with at Kenyon Lodge. I live over 200 miles from Manchester, so cannot visit my uncle often, even in normal times. During the Covid-19 pandemic, it is comforting and reassuring to know my uncle is being
well looked after.

In my opinion, I don't think the home has enough staff to care for residents, even though when I query it I am told there is. There are stations in the corridors which should be manned with a carer at all times, that is my opinion. Also, the response for the length of time it takes for a carer to respond
to the buzzer in the room can take a while, especially if the resident needs the toilet. Sometimes it is too late.
Reply from Gulzar Nazir, Manager at Kenyon LodgeThank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated. We are trying our best to provide the best care to your uncle.

All the carers, plus kitchen staff are all friendly, helpful and very understanding to the resident's needs and also to the family/friends.
The management staff are also approachable and are willing to listen to any small problems that may arise. I am happy my husband is looked after in a good care
home.

I have been staying at Kenyon Lodge Care Home for about four months and have been happy with my treatment by all staff here and the accommodation has been very clean.
I have not gone along with the activities because I prefer to stay in my room by myself.
The service provided is excellent and the
staff are wonderful.

The carers and activity coordinator have shown a lot of empathy and compassion to the resident's and family. They have assisted in giving the family peace of mind. My mum has been a resident for just over a week, so can't really comment further.

I came in to see my Grandad having fun with the activities coordinator, dancing along to music and with instruments. The activities coordinator is absolutely fantastic with the residents! Grandad does not usually speak or communicate but he looked great and was responding really well. So comforting,
knowing he is being looked after by the activities coordinator and other staff. It was lovely for his family to see him the way he is today.

I recently lost my husband on the 9th of July. He had been a resident for over two years. I found the home a very friendly place and I visited every day for hours and always felt welcome with the staff and management, I count them as friends. About a year ago as a family we decided we wanted him to
spend the rest of his life and end with these friends. We made a very wise choice. It was his home and he was with friends to the end. Many thanks for your caring staff the best Rate A*

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.421)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.421) out of 10 for Kenyon Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.571 for Kenyon Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (130 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 175 Ratings = 4.571
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kenyon Lodge is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
