I only stayed a couple of weeks. The room was clean but the bed wasn't comfortable. The food was poor the first week but improved in the second week. Physio worked hard with me and were always pleasant which could not be said for some of the other carers. I didn't use facilities or pay so cannot rate
them.

The overall care that my dad received was very professional, caring and sensitive to his needs and always kept up to date with his treatment and medication.

They brought me into Richmond House from hospital for rehabilitation after tip surgery. I'm from another country, I don't speak English very well.
But despite these difficulties, all the employees were very attentive to me.

Every member of staff that I have spoken to what whatever their grade/position have been so remarkably pleasant and helpful, with positive attitudes all round. This really helps recovery.

If you're considering a care home for yourself or a loved one then you need not search anymore. The staff are outstanding at Richmond House, they're compassionate, caring and supportive. They will do everything they can to make your stay a pleasant experience. They are an inclusive care home, everyone
is treated with dignity and respect.
The rehabilitation program is second to none, with regular visits from the physio team and other medical professionals to ensure your stay is comfortable.
We have had an experience with a very poor care home in the past so please trust me when I say Richmond House are the best! If I were to need a care home for myself in the future I'd be staying with them, I'd be going nowhere else.

My dad was looked after at the end of his life, and the whole team at Richmond House were amazing, kind, compassionate, highly professional and always willing to spare time out of their busy schedules to support and assist my family and me, in addition to my dad. The facilities are good - single rooms
of a decent size, each with a private ensuite, nice eating and kitchenette areas on each floor, and excellent food in terms of both quality and variety. But is it essentially the team of people at all levels that makes this place so special.

Always a lovely and friendly welcome from the staff, who work extremely hard. The physio is marvellous enabling my husband to walk a short distance after three sessions. The teamwork is definitely shown and I would wholeheartedly recommend Richmond House Care Home without hesitation.

My husband was admitted for a period of rehab following discharge from hospital. Unfortunately whilst in hospital, he contracted covid, and as a result of which because of a number of underlying health issues, he didn't seem to pick up and was reluctant to cooperate with the physios. In addition following
covid he found it difficult to swallow, and as a result, couldn't eat or drink normally. The staff went out of their way to try to get him to eat and drink, but as time went on he gradually went downhill. As a consequence, he was admitted to hospital on the 27th of July where he died the following morning. I cannot praise the staff at the home enough for the way they looked after him under what on some days were difficult circumstances.

My husband was a resident for two weeks after a stay of six weeks in hospital. He was very well looked after. The staff were patient and caring and nothing was too much trouble. He needed a lot of personal care and he was treated with dignity. He had physio to help with mobility.

The family were really happy with the staff and facilities at Richmond during my mother's stay. 99% of the staff that we came in contact with were always smiling, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The home itself was always clean and accessible when we visited. Given the choice, we would
have had no hesitation in placing mum in Richmond as she has not been allowed back home. When we left mum whatever the time of day we always felt she was safe and in the best hands. May not sound much but those two things are worth their weight in gold.

I stayed there to recover. The staff could not do enough for you, they go out of their way to help you. The management does everything they can to make you feel welcome and look after you. I would recommend this care home because I was treated like a queen.

My mum was sent to Richmond House for rehabilitation following a hip operation. She was treated with care and dignity throughout her stay. The staff were very caring and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The level of care was excellent.

All of the staff are very caring, giving lots of support to my mother, as a new resident, and to our family. My mother is well looked after, clean and tidy. She is happy and interacts well with the staff, they are skilled in communicating with a stroke survivor. They are sensitive to my mother's needs
and treat her with dignity and respect. All of the staff are very friendly and are only too happy to help.

“I believe kind care is treating each person as an individual and enabling them to make their own life choices.”


As a Registered Nurse, Lorraine has gained over 35 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at Richmond House for a number of years, Lorraine shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Richmond House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Lorraine remarked: “Knowing that I can go home at the end of the day leaving my residents happy and well cared for.”


Away from work, Lorraine enjoys swimming, watching Rugby League and DIY.
