After weeks in the hospital, it was a pleasure to come here and see my partner looking so clean and well dressed. The staff are very friendly, but professional and nothing is too much trouble.

My mother was referred here from hospital, the care that she had here was first class, the staff were very attentive, the food she said was varied and extremely tasty and overall we were very content with her being here.

Arrived from hospital to Richmond House was made very welcome and greeted by members of the home.
The staff throughout my stay have been very polite and on hand, if I needed anything. Always happy to make you a brew if and when needed. I have had a very comfortable stay here.
The staff and their
team are a real credit to the home, from the carers to the cleaners, the chef to the physio team. Good information about the resources available after discharge. What a good team.

A huge thank you to all the amazing staff for caring for my mum after a hip operation. Her care was A-star. Everyone was so kind and considerate of her needs. She loved the lovely meals, and the staff were always happy to help; they were all considerate and made her feel comfortable and at ease! You
all work so hard and deserve credit for all you do! Staff were always willing to listen to her needs, have a little chat when she needed company and make her laugh at times ! Richmond House, you all do a wonderful job! A big thank you from the family; Mum was in good hands.

I was a resident for just over two weeks. I found all members of staff to be exceptionally caring, helpful and very supportive in my recovery of a fracture to my arm. I can honestly say I would recommend Richmond House 100%. All members of staff, from housekeepers, chefs, nurses, caring support staff,
tea ladies, physios to maintenance staff are a credit to you - (unsung heroes).

The attention I got was good. Food Good. Staff friendly and obliging. I am well looked after by all the staff. Physio treatment was good.


The only complaint was that the staff didn't know that I was a type 2 diabetic until my daughter in law visited fourteen days later and informed the staff. This

may have been because the community assessment unit (RAEI) didn't inform staff.

I would recommend Richmond House to anyone as I received excellent care and services during my stay. My key carer and the male nurse were very kind to me and made sure I always felt comfortable. Thank you to all the staff for helping me on my road to recovery.

I came here on April 30th and was treated extremely good. As each day passed the hospitality and staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. I thought I was in a 5-star hotel, the room was excellent and the facilities were excellent. If I come again I would chose here. Thank you.

The majority of staff were caring and attentive, however, I do feel that there wasn't enough communication with trained staff which was sometimes necessary. In general, my stay was pleasant.

I was only at Richmond House for 17 days following an accident from which I broke my femur. Everyone cared and looked after me very well. No complaints. Taught me to get up and down the stairs so I was able to go home and cope on my own. The carers came for two weeks when I went home. They were very
good and kind.

My dad was a resident at Richmond House from May 2019 to March 2020 firstly in intermediate care then a permanent resident. He was treated at all times with dignity, respect and more importantly love! All the staff were amazing, they supported both dad and myself. When we knew dad was on his final journey,
we were both treated with the most loving care and compassion and the end of life care was just amazing. I can honestly say the care, food and cleanliness of dad's room were always good and Richmond House and its team are angels on earth!

Lovely staff, food amazing, can't fault. Mum looks so much healthier and gained weight. Only negative is not reg staff, don't know my mums needs eg doesn't know to sort batteries out of hearing aid or switch the TV on to DVD etc, also physio needs.

As a family, we feel confident that Mum is safe and well looked after, as does she. The nursing care she receives in respect of her nephroscopy tube is excellent. The staff and quality of care are very good indeed. However, the rooms are fairly basic and the food is quite often not to her liking.

Went for rehab from Wigan Infirmary when I fell and broke my hip. For just over two weeks I received the best of care while I was there. Couldn't fault the place.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“I believe kind care is treating each person as an individual and enabling them to make their own life choices.”


As a Registered Nurse, Lorraine has gained over 35 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at Richmond House for a number of years, Lorraine shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Richmond House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Lorraine remarked: “Knowing that I can go home at the end of the day leaving my residents happy and well cared for.”


Away from work, Lorraine enjoys swimming, watching Rugby League and DIY.
