We appreciate that care homes generally have gone through difficult times in the last couple of years, Kingswood Manor being no exception. This is a very old building and difficult to maintain and probably in need of some modernisation. Notwithstanding that, on our visits, the home is always clean,
warm and welcoming. My mother's room is always spotlessly clean, as she is notwithstanding the odd spillage of food or drink. My mother can be very difficult to deal with, but we have found that the staff generally from the management down deal with her in a very caring and sympathetic manner, even though they sometimes have to deal with verbal abuse. The staff are all approachable and available for advice, guidance and sometimes counselling.

My aunt has been a resident at Kingwood Care Home for four years and she has received exemplary care and support. The nursing and care staff are exceptional as they ensure that residents' individual needs are met. They exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills and show genuine care. There is a warm and

We moved my partner's mum from another care home in late August 2022. She had been in care for around 5 years or so after suffering a stroke and needs full nursing care.
She needed urgent chiropody, dental and skincare on arrival - all of which were attended to within the first week (if not a few days).
The
staff here are just brilliant! They are not only incredibly professional and efficient, but they are attentive, friendly, funny and incredibly caring.
They make time to stop and chat to Mum, picking her brains over recipes and cooking and just general chit-chat. We have noticed a real difference in her attention span and how she engages with and speaks to people now.
The building itself is beautiful, although perhaps a little run down given its' age. That said, Mum's room is clean, safe and warm and the shared spaces are lovely. We've put up her favourite prints on the wall and she's really settled in. Oh, and the food is fantastic! All home-cooked and good quality.

From my first visit to Kingswood Manor to see if the home is appropriate for my mum, I knew this was the right place for her.
All the staff are fantastic and supportive, they go out of their way to make my mum as comfortable as possible and keep her, not only well cared for but, they actually take
the time to talk to her and engage in her interests with her.
My mum arrived at the home from her previous home with a few skin issues, chiropodist issues and dental issues, these were all being taken care of by the relevant specialists within 2 weeks.
They truly are a great bunch and, unlike others, really do care!

My father has been a resident for almost 2 years after he suffered a series of stokes which left him unable to communicate and severely disabled. On my first visit to Kingswood Manor after being shown around and given some expert help from their admin staff I just knew that it was the best place for
my dad to be. The staff are amazing, they are like family to the residents and they couldn't do enough for them. They have fabulous activities and even during lockdown I can rest assured that my dad is getting the safest and best care I could possibly hope for. As hard as it's been not visiting him the events coordinator has gone above and beyond to facilitate calls and window visits and the carers nurses and all the staff have been helping entertain the residents and do their hair and nails, they should all be very proud of what they have accomplished. I am so happy my dad was lucky enough to get a place here so a big thank you to everyone at Kingswood you are an amazing team.

My mum has been a resident at Kingswood Manor for almost 3 years. She has had ups and downs but I can honestly say that the staff at Kingswood work extremely hard at caring for her, they never give up.
Recently Mum fell and broke her hip and needed to go to hospital. She is 93 with dementia and it
suprised me just how many people started to write her off, but not at Kingswood...they brought mum back to her old self with excellent care and targeted stimulation.
Having to deal with COVID has brought it's additional pressures on the managers and staff, but they rose to the occasion and as of now have kept Kingswood COVID free. We cannot thank them enough.

My mum’s health began to deteriorate 2 years ago and we were no longer able to meet her needs at home. She was initially extremely reluctant to consider residential care however it became apparent that it would be her best option. I looked at several homes before deciding to wait for a place for her
at Kingswood. She will have been a resident at Kingswood for 2 years at the beginning of October.
I am so happy at how well my mum has settled. She has made friends and is happy. The Kingswood staff are just wonderful. I was happy with her care and how well stimulated and entertained the residents were prior to lockdown. However since COVID-19 took hold, the staff have earned my unwavering gratitude and admiration. They have been extremely creative in maintaining family contact, this has included personal updates, video calls and window visits. I look forward to a time when I can hug my mum again but in the meantime, I am reassured that she is safe, happy and well cared for.

My Mum was a resident at Kingswood Manor for over five years, she sadly passed away earlier this month. Throughout her stay here, she had a wonderful life, plenty of laughs and lots of love. The staff, really do a fantastic job, they really do care about their residents, the peace of mind is priceless
for the family. During her last days, the care was remarkable, when family couldn't be there, the staff made sure she was not on her own, music was left playing, staff would be in and out to make sure she was ok. Her passing was made easier, knowing that she was at her home when she died, she fulfilled her wish, and died with all the love and care she needed from not only her own family but her extended Kingswood family. Can't thank them enough, and so glad that Mum had her home here.

My mum is palliative care. I would just like to say my experience in dealing with the staff there is they are welcoming, caring and very compassionate. My mum was really down due to her illness. Over the weeks she became more motivated interacting with other residents and is down in lounge most days
and I believe this is due to the caring and motivated staff and the activities coordinator is amazing.

My brother was in Kingswood Manor for some time before he died in October 2018. He was extremely happy there and my husband and I were very impressed by Kingswood Manor. It is clean, cosy and has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are caring and committed and the residents are treated like one big,
happy family. There are games and entertainment on a regular basis and there is a liaison between the home and local schools, whose children come in to visit. There are outings to various places and a tea-party on the occasion of a resident's birthday. Relatives are welcome to visit and to join in with the afternoons of singing, carpet bowls, or whatever is going on. The Staff go to the trouble of decorating the lounge for all occasions....Christmas, Remembrance Day, Easter etc. I really cannot recommend Kingswood Manor enough to anyone needing a care-home for a family member.....you don't need to worry if they are happy ....the Staff will welcome you at any time to see for yourself.

My sister has been at Kingswood Manor for the last three months.
She has dementia and also nursing care. She has now settled in and the family are very thankful for the care and attention she receives.
The home is very pleasant. Food and drinks are plentiful. Staff are kind and caring and make us

I have been very impressed with the quality of care both for medical needs as well as social needs. A lovely atmosphere between carers and residents are encouraged to talk and to do things which stimulates the mind, is often fun orientated and gives a sense of importance and purpose to their lives.

I have been visiting my sister-in-law every week since she went to Kingswood Manor and I can say home's improved.

On the whole, the carers are very good - excellent activities and entertainment. Mum's room is always clean and tidy with clean bedding etc. Food is very good with choices. Admin staff are always helpful and pleasant. Excellent.

I found the care at the home good. Many of the carers were aware of my friend's condition. Unrequested, a carer would comment 'oh, your friend is in good form today' or 'your friend is in bed today'. So although they may not have been the main carers they showed concern and interest in my friend. I
observed that they treated her with respect. Sometimes I would take her out in a wheelchair for a short walk - the staff were always happy to help her into the wheelchair even when, latterly, it entailed using a hoist. The activities coordinator was excellent always arranging a varied programme both inside and beyond the home and drawing a local school into a weekly activity. resident benefitted greatly.
