Barnston Court Care Home

My sister moved into Barnston Court on 22 January. The staff all ensured they introduced themselves and got to know my sister. They have made her feel welcome and have also been welcoming to me. My sister has settled in well and I have peace of mind knowing she is being well cared for.

The home has met all my requirements. I have had a few queries and these have been handled professionally at all times. Every staff member bar non has been very helpful and enthusiastic about their work. I could not have chosen a better care home for my wife.

The garden is beautiful and I like being able to sit out.

My dad moved here from another home and settled in quickly. He is well looked after by the staff who are just lovely with him. You can tell the other residents also love the staff as I often hear them say they 'love them' the staff show love and affection to the residents with hugs and cuddles and it is very calm and settled in the resident lounge. My dad always said 'don't put me in a home' but circumstances changed this and although at first I did feel guilty, I know now he's getting the best treatment and attention to his needs. I can't praise the staff enough for putting my peace at mind.

The home was consistently cared for my husband really well. We were worried when he had to go into care. However, the kindness and warmth to my husband has been a relief to us as family. He has been kept safe, treated with dignity and looked after to a high standard of care. End of life care was, excellent, kind and supportive also for family. Planning and working with GP and family was excellent too. Thank you always.

Also, the location of the home is very good, nearby where we live.

Unfortunate with weather this summer which prevented garden use this year and also a brief episode of Covid which led to a cancellation.

All members of staff are very helpful and understanding and caring and friendly.

My mum has been moved from another care home at the beginning of June, and I am really pleased with the level of care she has received. The staff are all very attentive and caring. They attend to my mother's needs and help her to cope with her dementia.

I can't express how much appreciation I have for the lovely staff who work at Barnston Court Care Home. They are all so welcoming, always have a smile on their face and are super supportive towards my mum's needs as well as ours, as a family. The relief we now have knowing Mum is well cared for is immense. Management and all staff at Barnston make this part of our lives so much happier and easier all-round. Thank you!

Mum passed away last week and she was comfortable and well looked after right to the end. We will always be grateful to everyone at Barnston Court for the care they gave her. My mother has been a resident here for almost 5 years and the care she has received is second to none. Her care and staff are exceptional.

Barnston Court has been my father’s new home since September of last year when my father left a difficult three-month hospital stay to come to Barnston Court. We had to make a quick decision at the time, but we are very happy with every aspect of the care he is receiving. The care team at Barnston Court are kind, conscientious, and communicative. My father is not always the easiest resident, but he is treated with respect and good cheer at all times. I recommend Barnston Court highly.

The staff and manager are very approachable and caring and work hard to ensure the home is run to a high standard. I feel supported and know Mum gets good care and attention in a caring and dignified manner.

The care home is very welcoming, with friendly staff and a very positive can-do attitude. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Staff are very mature and caring, many of them have been there a while and know the job fully. Anything that you ask for they will help you out. The rooms are very clean and all the food is homemade.

My mum could not have been placed in a better environment. The care they provide is outstanding.
