Very friendly. Staff are very patient and kind. The food is very palatable and they ask me what I like to eat. My room is warm and comfortable and clean. It feels like home. The staff keep me informed about my care needs and this makes me feel wanted and safe rather than a nuisance.
The garden is beautiful
and I like being able to sit out.

My dad moved here from another home and settled in quickly. He is well looked after by the staff who are just lovely with him. You can tell the other residents also love the staff as I often hear them say they 'love them' the staff show love and affection to the residents with hugs and cuddles and it
is very calm and settled in the resident lounge. My dad always said 'don't put me in a home' but circumstances changed this and although at first I did feel guilty, I know now he's getting the best treatment and attention to his needs. I can't praise the staff enough for putting my peace at mind.

The home was consistently cared for my husband really well. We were worried when he had to go into care. However, the kindness and warmth to my husband has been a relief to us as family. He has been kept safe, treated with dignity and looked after to a high standard of care. End of life care was, excellent,
kind and supportive also for family. Planning and working with GP and family was excellent too. Thank you always.

Excellent experience. Friendly, approachable staff and excellent facilities and standard of care.
Unfortunate with weather this summer which prevented garden use this year and also a brief episode of Covid which led to a cancellation.

My mum has been moved from another care home at the beginning of June, and I am really pleased with the level of care she has received. The staff are all very attentive and caring. They attend to my mother's needs and help her to cope with her dementia.

I can't express how much appreciation I have for the lovely staff who work at Barnston Court Care Home. They are all so welcoming, always have a smile on their face and are super supportive towards my mum's needs as well as ours, as a family. The relief we now have knowing Mum is well cared for is immense.
Management and all staff at Barnston make this part of our lives so much happier and easier all-round. Thank you!

We selected this home after careful review when my mum’s dementia became too severe for my father to continue caring for her. I am so glad we chose Barnston Court. Everyone in the team is wonderful. My mum was made comfortable and always treated with respect, dignity and smiles. My dad was a regular
visitor and was always welcomed and even wished a happy birthday himself on the right day - little touches that make such a difference.
Mum passed away last week and she was comfortable and well looked after right to the end. We will always be grateful to everyone at Barnston Court for the care they gave her. Picking a home for your loved one is such a huge responsibility. From our experience, you won’t go wrong with Barnston Court.

Barnston Court has been my father’s new home since September of last year when my father left a difficult three-month hospital stay to come to Barnston Court. We had to make a quick decision at the time, but we are very happy with every aspect of the care he is receiving. The care team at Barnston Court
are kind, conscientious, and communicative. My father is not always the easiest resident, but he is treated with respect and good cheer at all times. I recommend Barnston Court highly.

The care home is very welcoming, with friendly staff and a very positive can-do attitude. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Staff are very mature and caring, many of them have been there a while and know the job fully. Anything that you ask for they will help you out. The rooms are very clean
and all the food is homemade.

Wonderful staff in a care home full of love and laughter. Barnston Court is a special place with special staff that go above and beyond, I can not praise them highly enough.
My mum could not have been placed in a better environment. The care they provide is outstanding.

I have had a really good experience in this care home concerning my dad who is 97 years of age. Suffering from severe Dementia and unable to walk. All the care staff and nurses during the 4 weeks assessment have been friendly and caring towards my dad, other residents, as well as myself and my family.
This includes friends that have visited my dad too! The care home is very clean, so much so that we as a family hope that my dad can stay in Barnston Court Care Home permanently. Thank you to all the staff for making my dad, family and me so very welcome!

Mum was moved to Barnston Court Care Home in August 2022 after a long stay in the hospital. The staff have been brilliant in caring for mum, making sure she settled in as soon as she arrived. They picked up on a problem with mum and contacted the doctor who calls every week to check all residents which
helps the family, knowing that problems are picked up before they get too bad. Staff are always friendly when I visit and are always available to hear any concerns we may have. Can't fault them.

Ann Nolan has several years of experience as a nurse and 30 years as a home manager. She has a BSc Hons in Gerontology and is a registered mental health and general nurse (the U.K. trained).


Ann's speciality is caring for fragile and older people. During her career, Ann has been a ward sister for the NHS, a home manager for nursing homes in the UK, and a care manager in Australia, where she also trained to be a practice nurse and worked for a rural surgery for one year.
