I have had a really good experience in this care home concerning my dad who is 97 years of age. Suffering from severe Dementia and unable to walk. All the care staff and nurses during the 4 weeks assessment have been friendly and caring towards my dad, other residents, as well as myself and my family. This includes friends that have visited my dad too! The care home is very clean, so much so that we as a family hope that my dad can stay in Barnston Court Care Home permanently. Thank you to all the staff for making my dad, family and me so very welcome!

Mum was moved to Barnston Court Care Home in August 2022 after a long stay in the hospital. The staff have been brilliant in caring for mum, making sure she settled in as soon as she arrived. They picked up on a problem with mum and contacted the doctor who calls every week to check all residents which helps the family, knowing that problems are picked up before they get too bad. Staff are always friendly when I visit and are always available to hear any concerns we may have. Can't fault them.

Mum entered the home on the 20th of August as a temporary resident. The fact that she settled so well says a lot about the staff who run the home. We decided to make this a permanent residency because of the staff and how well the home looks after its residents and also their families.

My mum lived at Barnston Court for six months. she was severely brain damaged and needed 24 hour care/nursing. All staff treated my mum fantastically. They keep her clean and treated her with dignity and respect at all times. I felt extremely comfortable leaving her after visit knowing she was being cared for. Staff also treated myself and family very well.

My partner went into Barnston Court for end-of-life care. Although he was only in for 24 hours the care and attention he received was very good one carer sat with him through the night as his condition worsened. All staff were excellent and it is a comfort to me that he was cared for with respect and dignity.

The care he received when at Barnston Court Care Home was fantastic whilst looking after other residents. They also made sure we were all ok too, made us feel comfortable at all times - made us tea or coffee, kept popping in to make sure we were ok and especially the resident that was there for end-of-life care. They were caring, respectful and very understanding.

The staff are friendly, they could be around more to see to mum's needs as she is bedbound.
The food is great, the room is tired-looking and needs redecorating.

Mum's left in dirty pads so sore underneath. not encouraged to use a bedpan.

My brother was very happy with the care he received at Barnston Court. He was treated with dignity at all times and was clean-shaven, clean and comfortable. He was the most comfortable he had been in a long time and thought of home and wanted to end his days here rather than go into hospital.

Mum was admitted via a fast-track discharge from the hospital at short notice, and as a family, we could not be happier as this was our first placement of choice. The care and support offered to our mum have been excellent, as stated. All the staff are caring and compassionate, and our mum has settled well.

Mum has been living at Barnston Court since July 2021. She has been very well looked after and cared for by all the staff. All staff are extremely hard working and dedicated to the residents. The home is very well led by the manager and her team. The family are kept well informed, and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has had a number of health-related issues whist she has lived at Barston Court, which have been dealt with quickly, efficiently and kindly, keeping us informed at all times. Throughout Covid, measures have always been in place to prevent cross infections. Family is very happy.

My Aunt has lived at Barnston Court Care Home for just over three and half years and I know she is very happy, safe and well cared for by a friendly dedicated team of staff. She has a lovely room and she tells me the food is excellent. My communication experience with the home is very good, I am contacted if there are any concerns, and if I ring or message them, I always get a speedy response. Barnston Court seems to provide many different activities for the residents and they make super efforts for special events. Everyone went above and beyond to make my Aunt's 100th birthday last year and her 101st birthday last weekend wonderful and memorable occasions. I live quite a distance away so it is nice to feel reassured that my aunt is so well looked after, and in her own words, 'we couldn't have picked a better place for her to live'.
