Dad only managed a short stay however, during this time he was treated with kindness and understanding by all the staff. The staff were supportive to dad and me under difficult Covid situation. A big thank you to everyone at Westhaven.

Ratio of staff to residents on occasions makes it difficult for the staff to spend time "socialising" with residents and to offer outside activities during this recent spell of good weather. In particular for the residents with limited mobility who would benefit greatly from the vivid and mental stimulus.

Thank you so much for your kind review our staff and management will always take time out to read our reviews and where necessary take comments on board to improve the service that we provide to our residents, however it can be difficult finding activities that meet each and every individual's unique needs. We endeavour to gather as much information from sources available as to hobbies and interests and aim to provide a variety of activities and all residents are invited to participate. All our outdoor activities are being provided currently in line with Covid restrictions and procedures. We have a courtyard which is widely used by residents to sit and enjoy the sun and a garden area at the rear which can also be utilised.

I have always found Westhaven to be a welcoming place, very well kept and the care, in my view, is excellent. The food, the staff, everything is, as I said, excellent.

My mother has been a resident for a number of years. From the outset she has been treated with care, consideration and dignity. The matron, deputy and administrative and care staff have been professional, approachable and are dedicated to their individual roles. Nothing has been too much trouble and
my mother is safe, well looked after and content. I have no hesitation recommending this care home.

My mother has been well looked after during this difficult time. The days I have been able to visit she has looked clean and had her hair permed by one of the staff who was also a hairdresser, fortunately as she has dementia she has not known what was going on. The staff are so kind to her and they
still put on entertainments for the residents to try and keep things as normal as possible. I have nothing but praise and a big thank you to all the staff at Westhaven who have kept everyone safe and well.

Westhaven provided exceptional care to my father in the final days and hours and even to the very last minute of his life. From accomodating my father at short notice over one weekend to managing his health issues and his frustrations, the discovery of this care home was an answer to our prayers. From
the leadership of the matron to the individual care provided, every member of staff showing compassion, respect and dignity - we cannot say thank you enough.

My aunt was in Westhaven for over three years. During that time, we felt the staff assessed her needs well and coped well with her idiosyncracies. During her last months, she was nursed well and we were treated with understanding. We did have issues with one member of staff but these were dealt with.
We felt pain relief could have been better, but this was partly due to covid, restricting GP visits and so on.

On visiting Westhaven I knew it was right for Mum. It was clear just how much all the staff care. I was told they would help Mum recover to the best she could be. After 6 weeks in hospital, aged 93, Mum regained abilities we thought totally lost. The patient, cheerful and knowledgable staff gave Mum
time and encouragement to feed herself again. We could visit any time until Covid stopped personal visits. Staff went above and beyond to cover shifts without the need of agency staff and keeping Covid away.
During this time we had regular video calls so could chat to Mum and see how she was. It was clear that attentive care became genuinely loving during Covid. The staff were very vigilant, always contacting the GP about any changes and always let me know. As Mum approached the end of life we could visit once again. Fantastic care, support and friendship were extended to us too. We were with Mum as she slipped away peacefully in her fantastic final home, having experienced the best of care over 2.5 years.

Our lovely mum passed away in Westhaven after living there for the past 2 years. The care Mum received at the end of her life was amazing. Everyone who works in Westhaven, from the carers to the catering and domestic staff, all genuinely care for the residents. Mum was treated with dignity and compassion
during her final days. The staff also gave tremendous help and support to our family during this difficult time. As a family we were able to spend time with Mum and say our goodbyes for which we are very grateful. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for a care home.

My 102-year-old stayed dad Westhaven Nursing home for five weeks he was happy and content and told me repeatedly how kind everybody was how well he is looked after and the food was always hot and very nicely served. I felt free to ring at any time and was always impressed by the competent and friendly
staff and management.
Dad looked a lot better leaving Westhaven than he did going in.

My mother was very well looked after during her stay. The admission process was straightforward and responsive, which is important as it can be a stressful time. Communication was good at all times, and staff were always knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful when visiting, or calling on the phone. The
staff always seemed to be on top of medical issues that needed addressing and were able to provide the right equipment as needed.
The rooms and the building are very pleasant and functional, and allow the residents privacy and peace and quiet. Visiting Mum was easy as the bedroom was big enough and quiet, with additional chairs available. The lounge was also big enough to meet up in if needed, with plenty of comfortable chairs.
Westhaven was chosen because my father stayed there in 2018 and also found the same level of good care.

My father has been a resident here since September last year. The staff are excellent in their professionalism and ability to care for all residents. They have supported us and kept us informed with all issues involving dad. He has mobility issues but they have always done everything they can to help
him and make him as comfortable and happy as possible. I'd like to thank everyone from us all.

We were lucky to stumble across Westhaven. My mother has mobility issues and Westhaven can cater for this. It is always clean and she seems happy and safe there. Security is good. There have been occasions where she has had to attend hospital and they have always communicated well and promptly.

My brother was in Westhaven for approximately 3 years. He was extremely well looked after. Whenever I visited all the staff were so very caring. He was a very sick man but was looked after with love and shown great dignity. I can never thank the carers enough.

You will appreciate it is a very painful time for mum’s family right now, but I just wanted to pass on our huge thanks for all the care, kindness and support your team showed Mum in her last few months. From the warm welcome, including mum’s favourite salmon sandwiches and soup on arrival, to the endless

My mother has been a resident in Westhaven for three years now. She is well cared for, and we have never had any problems. If we have concerns, we are able to talk about it. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Mum has been happy there, and the staff are always caring towards Mum. At the end of
Mum's life, the staff were so caring and thoughtful and made sure Mum was comfortable until the end. We can't fault them at all.
