And that means everything. We are looking forward to the lowering of the restrictions so we can visit as much as possible but for now, we are extremely grateful to all the staff looking after dad for us and I would wholeheartedly recommend them.
My Auntie moved into Acorn Hollow Care Home early December 2020, because my Uncle was admitted to hospital very poorly and could no longer care for her at home. My Auntie decided after a month that she wanted to stay and make Acorn Hollow her permanent home. I'm not surprised as she is happy there, she enjoys the food, her sunny bedroom, having a chat and lots of good company. The caring staff are all superb and especially one member of staff in particular who is wonderful! A real credit to your team! Thank you all at Acorn Hollow.
My Aunt moved in a month before lockdown so I was able to visit frequently during that time and satisfy myself that the standards of care were high. I got to know the staff. This gave me the confidence to settle my Mother here in lockdown when we couldn't cope. The staff are unfailingly kind, helpful and always ready to discuss any concerns.
Thank you so much to the wellbeing coordinator and staff at Acorn Hollow, Lostock Gralam for making it possible to see our mum on Mother’s Day via Video calls. We are all missing our loved ones and to be able to do this was amazing - thank you all so much.
Staff are very friendly every time I visit. Nothing is too much trouble. The cafe is always busy, tea and cake flowing.
I have been here for eight years. The staff have always taken care of me. I spend a lot of time crocheting. I have this for lots of people and places. I do this most of the time and I join in with all sorts of games.
Home from home. The staff are kind and really really friendly.
The staff were very helpful and met my individual needs. The home was always kept clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble. Entertainment and activities were well thought out and planned as to what is on the calendar (i.e. Halloween, bonfire night, Blackpool lights)
I visit Acorn Care Home regularly, the staff are always welcoming and their care for my friend is second to none. They have lots of events going on within the home and there is always a theme being displayed in the main areas. The staff work extremely hard keeping residents upbeat and take the time just to sit and talk with them. When I need any care - this is where I know I would be happy.
Very clean. Lovely, friendly staff. Lots of activities for the residents. Always making items for fair, special dates etc.
Very friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Very caring.
Happy with all the girls who help look after me. I like that my son is able to come here anytime and can spend as much time as he likes with me and not made to feel unwelcome because everyone is nice.
I have been made very welcome here ar Acorn Hollow. The staff have helped me settle in and I have made new friends. Any room is bright and I can see the gardens. The food is nice and plenty of it.
My grandma is very well looked after and the home is very welcoming. The staff are also friendly and overall the home is great.
Very good home.
The care shown, plus the interest in my ex-husband, has restored my confidence that he is looked after as he would have been if he'd have remained in the family home. I am particularly pleased that he is being encouraged out of bed and to join in with activities.
All the staff are lovely.
Very impressed with all the activities.
The room is lovely.
On Wednesday afternoon, 1st May we had a visit from a man with unusual animals to hold a pet. My Mum really enjoyed the experience and was very interested in what the animals were. The home introduces lots of experiences for the residents to enjoy. Mum won an Easter bonnet competition that was held for all to enjoy.
We arrived to see Dad after a four-hour drive from Essex. It was lovely to see Dad enjoying seeing and handling the animals (1st May). Everyone was interacting which was lovely to see.
My mother has been a resident of Acorn Hollow for over a year. She has dementia but is very happy in her own little world. She enjoys the singers and entertainment, especially the music. Staff are friendly, fun and very efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend Acorn Hallow.
