We love Acorn Hollow and love all the lovely caring staff who treat our mother with dignity and respect. All her needs are catered for and during times of low mood, she has been given excellent care and encouragement to enjoy the activities available.

My grandma came to Acorn Hollow after living by herself to the age of 97. She was treated with the greatest respect by everyone. She found the transition a little difficult but everyone supported her.
A great place, a lovely team. She loves the activities provided and has settled really well.

My great grandma loves it here. She loves painting with the other residents on a Wednesday morning and playing Bingo.
We come on a Friday night with cakes and we just sit, talk and eat and the staff are so welcoming to us all.

We have been here for 5 months and the home is very homely and my husband has had a decent and safe time in here. The carers are exceptional in their duty and the friendliness is something, in our position, that is needed.
I only have to ask and my problems are solved.

Mother was a bit unsure at first but was welcomed and has now integrated better she has put on weight and is eating really well.

Grandma arrived a few days ago and the welcome was perfect. All our worries and questions catered for. We are enjoying the Royal Wedding today, the staff have made amazing effort for this day. I would like to congratulate all the staff at Acorn Hollow on their recent inspection which was rated good. My dad, who has Dementia, is a resident and I would like to say how happy he is and how well he is looked after. The management and all the staff are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble.
The Home is clean and tidy and the meals exceptional.


They go out of their way to accommodate and look after the residents. They even got my dad food, meals and drinks he fancied when he was not feeling well. I cannot thank them enough for what they do for him.


I have no hesitation in recommending Acorn Hollow.

Having visited several care homes, Acorn Hollow ticked all the boxes for my wife and I to feel confident in housing my mother for her twilight years. The home felt warm and friendly with attentive staff both on a professional level, as well as their caring nature. The facilities are first class with
craft work, knitting, bingo etc as well as trips out to shops, Chester Zoo and meals. Mum now after three months calls Acorn Hollow home.

Excellent staff, very hard working and very kind to residents and visitors. My mother has struck up an excellent dialogue with the staff, even though she has only been a temporary resident - 5 weeks.

Home Manager at Acorn Hollow, Northwich


What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Kind care is about ensuring that Resident’s needs are always met, putting them first and showing empathy.”


As a Registered Nurse, Rachel is experienced in providing care and support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a dedicated and supportive leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Rachel joined Acorn Hollow as Home Manager as she shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Acorn Hollow.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Rachel remarked: “I love working together as one big family!”


Outside of work, Rachel enjoys walking, camping and spending time with her friends.
