A very nice family atmosphere between the staff, residents and relatives.

No longer able to obtain domiciliary care to enable my father to stay in his own home, I was very anxious about the prospect of a nursing home. From the first contact with the manager at Clayton Manor Care Home, however, I began to relax. On the day of admission, he was warmly welcomed on the journey and on arrival by a whole team of smiling faces. Carers, nurses, office staff and support staff are all professional, friendly, caring, compassionate and responsive. It took Dad a while to settle into his new surroundings but he is content and beginning to participate in activities despite his limitations. I am confident that he is safe and well looked after. The team welcomes feedback. All questions and requests are dealt with promptly. There's a pleasant garden room for visitors, lovely gardens and a little cafe area. I can't ask for more.

Always made to feel very welcome and the care of my spouse could not be improved upon. I cannot comment on the food as my wife is no longer able to eat there but pre-Covid she did and the standard was excellent at that time.

Dad was taken into hospital just before Christmas. He was adamant that he did not want to go in a care home but we were left with no choice. He said to me last week “I really like being here”. It is such a relief knowing he is being well looked after. A big thank you to all the staff.

The administration and staff have gone out of their way to make sure that my dad is safe, comfortable and happy since he moved onto the dementia floor and they are very responsive to his individual needs. They have also helped us by answering each of our questions and addressing each of our concerns since Dad moved in and this has helped us through our own difficult transition.

He enjoys the singing and music best, especially when a singer comes to sing to them all.

There have been minor issues since he has been a resident in Clayton Manor, however, the issue was rectified once brought to the attention of staff. Certain staff show a great deal of love/compassion for him.

I was extremely happy to see my brother as lockdown has been very hard. He was pleased to see me and it seemed to cheer him up. I think it makes all the difference to the patients as it must be hard for them. The staff were very kind, helpful and thoughtful. They are wonderful, especially the Covid support coordinator, general nurse and senior carer.

A very dedicated team of experienced staff who love their jobs and treat the residents and relatives like family. They are kind and cooperative in their approach, working with residents, community mental health teams other health care professionals and family to do the very best they can for the resident. I'm so grateful for all they have done and continue to do for my mum.

I have been a visitor to Clayton Manor for over three years and the one thing that has impressed more than any other is the devotion of all members of staff to their charges, particularly the ones suffering from dementia. You can see how they respond to this love that they are contented and settled and I am confident that my wife is in very good hands, which is a very big plus for me. I have eaten here on several occasions such as Birthdays and Christmas and the food has been excellent with staff pulling out all the stops to make the day memorable. Brilliant coffee and cake in reception. The maintenance of the home is first-rate and there is an absence of the offensive odours that I have experienced in the many other homes I have visited over the years. During the recent pandemic, it is appreciated that the staff workload must have been greatly increased by residents being confined to their rooms and yet my constant phone calls have been treated with the utmost kindness. Thank you.

I have always found Clayton Manor to be a warm and friendly place. The staff are always pleasant and helpful as are the office staff who go the extra mile.

I could not praise the staff, management and the care my mother has received highly enough. In the 10 years she has been a resident here she has been treated as an extension of the carers' families. The staff (every last one of them) go above and beyond every single day. I would highly recommend Clayton Manor as a safe and very caring environment for a relative needing such care.

On the whole, care is very good, but they seem to have difficulty in retaining staff. A lot of good care staff have left or are leaving. Activities are good, although my daughter does not always join in. She does enjoy music and film afternoons, more outings would be nice once or twice a month - locally, ie. shops, park/cafe or theatre.

Both my mother and brother are residents and are both looked after extremely well.

The day trips out or half days out seemed to have decreased in frequency.

The care and support shown to me personally were exceptional, I can't praise them enough.
