I find my experience very heartwarming and upsetting, after 4 years of visiting my mother I thought it would get better but it does not. Thank God she is being looked after by an exceptional team of people. Thank you all!

I was heartbroken when my husband had to go into care, but since he has been in Primrose, he has settled in very well and the staff have been excellent with him. I now have no worries about his health and his safety because the staff on all shifts are so caring. Thank you for giving me peace of mind.

My mother enjoyed her time at Primrose House. Staff were very friendly and I found no fault with the level of care the staff showed. Members of the team were present at my mother's funeral which was a very kind gesture.

My mum became a resident of Primrose House in December 2016.

I visit her at least twice a week at different times and days and she is always clean and tidy. I have always found the staff to be very caring and friendly. The bedrooms are all very light and airy and there is plenty of room for residents to wander in safety, which is important for my mum because she likes to walk around regularly.

First impressions; staff are very pleasant. Facilities are good. Rooms are excellent. Management is very approachable. Nurses are very 'on the ball'.

After Dad's stroke and ultimate stay in hospital, he transferred to Primrose House. It was apparent that this was the wrong facility for his needs and staff soon raised these concerns, for which I am very grateful. They helped to get him into a proper sleep routine, which had been disrupted by his stroke and arranged a case review to get him re-homed.

Introducing Dawn Sadler

Home Manager at Primrose House, Haslington

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?

“Kind care is shown through every Colleague and visitor within Primrose House showing kindness in every aspect of care provided whether it be through actions, or talking. All our Residents are our main priority and a ‘Happy Resident’ means a ‘Happy Home’.”

As a dedicated registered nurse, Dawn has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. Her main responsibilities are to ensure that all of the Residents are made to feel safe, secure, at home in their surroundings, and happy and to make each day a positive experience for each and every one of them.

Dawn closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.

She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Primrose House care home. Dawn regularly helps to hand out food parcels to the elderly and vulnerable people in the community.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Dawn remarked:

“Hearing the laughter throughout the home from both Colleagues and Residents”

Outside of work, Dawn is a semi-professional photographer and also enjoys making cakes for celebrations. She also has two wonderful children; a daughter and a son.

If you would like to find out more information about Primrose House, Dawn has an ‘Open Door Policy’ and would be pleased to welcome you for an informal discussion.
