Weston Park Care Home is located on the edge of Macclesfield and is convenient for shops, amenities, public transport and the motorway network.

This purpose built care home provides accommodation in single occupancy rooms, all of which have private toilet facilities.

Weston Park provides TV lounges and quiet sitting rooms for residents to relax and socialise in. Separate dining rooms, where residents can enjoy the company of others at meal times, are also available. A good variety of home cooked food based on traditional cooking using fresh produce is served. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available.

Regular visits are made to the home by an experienced hair stylist and a qualified chiropodist. A range of complementary therapies can be arranged for residents.

I was at Weston Park - (Waterside unit) after fracturing a bone in my neck in a rehabilitation unit. Excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the care staff and the team leaders were wonderful. It was like a five-star hotel.

My mother needed care following a bad fall, which she broke her neck. It was a difficult time for her due to COVID, as she had to isolate in her room for 2-weeks and needed someone with her 24-hours as she kept trying to take her neck brace off. She likes to be outside, so found being confined a difficult
experience. The staff at Weston were very patient with her, and once she had finished the isolation period did try and get her outside for short walks in the garden. They were very easy to stay in touch with and answered my and my sister's questions about my mother's care. They are clearly very busy but found time to talk to my mother and to try and engage her in the life of the care home. My mother seemed to like the food most of the time. She complained about her mattress, and this was changed at some point. The staff were always friendly and helpful when I dropped things off for my mother. As far as I am concerned, the home provided a good service for my mother.

My 86 year old mother was sent to Weston Park for Intermediate Care. I rang up every day to ask about her and was even able to speak to her on the phone. This was only possible as the care staff were very pleasant and helpful.

I was sent to this nursing home's rehab dept after having a knee replacement which I had on 2nd September. The home is very dirty. I was there for six days and nobody came into my room to clean the whole time I was there. (Not even the toilet). Most of the food was cold. I was given a cold baked potato.
It was a frozen one that hadn't been cooked through.

I would have liked the opportunity to investigate your concerns and discuss them directly with you. Our documentation does not support the comments regarding the home being dirty and your room not being cleaned during your stay. I have investigated your comments about the food being cold and have altered the way food is served on the unit. I have discussed your comments with the chef regarding the baked potato, the potatoes we use are fresh, not frozen, I apologise if this was not to your liking.

Like most things, there can be good times and bad times according to unforeseen circumstances. I have known very great kindnesses at birthdays (twin sister invited to afternoon tea). Lockdown has not helped the residents nor the staff but the staff do not show it.
I am not that keen on having agency
staff. I know it's impossible to do without, but they seem to be not so caring as a regular who's there all the time and able to answer questions for their doings. I feel it is of great importance to the care home and it was rather nice when lockdown was on and we didn't have outsiders in.

Prior to the lockdown, it was our 45th wedding anniversary. The assistance, support and encouragement received from the management, carers and catering staff were very much appreciated. A small party of relatives and close friends was held in the 'quiet room' which was very nicely decorated. Obviously,
since lockdown, we have not been allowed to visit relatives in the home. But, all that matters, is the safety of the residents and care staff. It has been difficult trying to hold a conversation with my wife through the glass window and the fact that she does not understand the present situation. She is not one who joins in activities and soon gets frustrated if anything or anyone slightly upsets her routine. Overall, I am more than satisfied and happy with the care given to my wife.

I have been here since June 2020 for rehabilitation. I find the staff very efficient and understanding. Having been here for 2 months, I've never heard a cross word. The humour of the staff is a great boost to the residents' morale. It would help if there was more choice of food.

The team on the intermediate care unit have done an amazing job looking after my Mum for the last few months, they have been so kind and caring and I can’t thank them enough! My wife has been a resident at this home for four years and I am quite happy with the care and attention which she receives. She feels safe and secure in there. Her medical needs are seen to by both in-house nursing staff as well as visiting doctors. All the staff, management and nursing, are thoughtful
people, very approachable and willing to listen and help. I am always well informed of my wife's care and any treatment she needs is discussed with me. Her room is light and airy and has private facilities. The home has dining rooms as well as separate lounges for entertainment. During the present Covid-19 situation the manageress provided a speaker system so that it is possible to talk to my wife through a closed window meaning that we can see and communicate together during this difficult time. It is a measure of the care which the home provides. On no occasion have I felt let down by the home and wished to move my wife elsewhere. I am quite prepared to recommend Weston Park.

I am writing this review from a patients perspective as I am presently residing on the Waterside unit as an intermediate care resident who is coming to the end of my stay.
I struggled at first because of the pain and being able to get past that but the staff here have encouraged and sometimes pushed
me (when I needed it) to get to my goal. Having an onsite physiotherapist team and occupational therapist has made the world of difference to my recovery. As I was medically fit but not physically the physio team worked on my mobility and the care staff worked on every other aspect of my care and they have been wonderful, cheering me up when I felt despondent and providing me with a great experience overall. The whole team are genuinely pleased with my progress and it has made me work even harder in case I disappointed them.
I do have one issue which is the level of agency staff that is used because it puts a strain on the permanent staff if they haven't worked on the unit before. Thanks.

My very independent Nan had a bad fall in June and was taken to the hospital. It was a horrendous time for us all as a family, especially with the Covid-19 and no communication. On the 2nd of July Nan was moved to Weston Park to the immediate care unit where I can honestly say they have been absolutely
wonderful. Nan has settled in really well. She speaks highly of all the staff and the care she is receiving. Physiotherapists and Occupational therapists are also wonderful. They always have time to speak to me and explain what is happening. I know they have sat with Nan a few times to reassure her and I am truly grateful for that. Its been very hard not being able to visit Nan, but the staff have gone out of their way for us to visit in the garden so we can speak to her from her room and lots of phone and video calls. I really can not thank the team enough, especially two members of staff that go above and beyond to look after Nan and us as a family.

My Mum received intermediate care at the Waterside unit for 2 weeks after a long period of time in hospital. Mum received amazing care there and with the staff's help and support they improved her mobility and confidence so that she could return home. In particular, the physiotherapist and occupational
therapy support was brilliant and also included a home visit to check Mum's surroundings and equipment. They also accompanied Mum when she returned home to check she was safely mobilising and transferring. I can't thank the staff enough as despite the COVID-19 situation they provided my Mum with the much-needed support, helped us as a family to keep in touch with her and kept us up to date with the plans for getting Mum home. It was Mum's birthday while she was in the unit and although it was hard for us not to spend it with her, the staff made sure it was special with a lovely cake and balloons, and a video call with our family. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone.

The standard of care at Weston Park care home is very good indeed. Everyone concerned helped to put Mum at ease in those first days in what was a strange and bewildering time for her and an anxious time for her family. Each member of staff from all the different departments has contributed to making
each day a good day for Mum and indeed for family and friends who are visiting, by their hard work, kindness shown, cheerfulness, patience and respect. Nothing is too much trouble and they always accommodate any needs that come along unexpectedly and welcome any ideas we have as a family to help Mum. The activities are well thought out and enrich the day. Mum's need for privacy and space is always honoured, helped by a lovely room and gardens to spend time in. Trips out with the family are always encouraged and made easy and always with a warm welcome on our return along with a good cup of tea.

Used to be a very nice team at Weston Park a few months ago, lead by a guy from another country, he built a nice team there, everything was running smoothly until a manager tried to get rid of him, I wish to have him back and his team. Now is nobody looking after like it was before, no attention to
the residents, my mom is seeking for attention all the time but nobody pays anything, she is losing weight and nobody is taking any notice.

My friend is being cared for at Weston Park and I feel the attitude of several carers are substandard. They always seem too busy to give a moment to speak to residents. Also, his jumper was put on back to front, therefore, he was unable to reach into shirt pocket. Things do go missing from his room
(nothing valuable).

My brother in law was a resident at Weston Park for 20 months and I visited him almost daily.
His nursing care during that time has been very good, right through from his arrival from hospital up to receiving palliative care for the last 3 weeks of his life.
The caring was sketchy during the first
half of his residence with poor management.
New management has been in place for the last year and there have been substantial improvements.
The home deserves a higher rating.

If there is a medal which can be given to such a truly magnificent team. Weston Park Care Home will be nominated for the highest achievement for such a wonderful, caring, devoted team which go beyond there abilities to keep my Dad and Papa comfortable in his last days.
My daughter and I cannot thank
you enough for the care and support which we received throughout our 10 days.
Three members of staff on the Weaver ward who stayed with me to the very end of Dads life.
You three are truly magnificent.

My Mother has been at Weston Park since January 2009 and during that time Weston Park has seen many changes, some good, some not so good. However, I have always been extremely impressed with the level of care and love that Mum has received. Yes, socks go missing, yes, she is sometimes in the wrong clothes
but the main thing for me is that she is beautifully cared for and I can have a wonderful time in the lounge visiting her. My thanks go to the staff and all the carers, you are doing a great job!
