My brother was assigned to Dove Court Care Home for a 28-day assessment by the hospital. Some few weeks after the 28 days he was readmitted to the hospital and subsequently returned for palliative care to Dove Court nursing care. Both Dove Court units treated him with care and respect and all facilities were excellent.

My mum had been a resident in Nightingale House up to her return from hospital beginning Nov 2022. A recent hospital stay had resulted in my mum's health deteriorating, needing nursing care. It was decided that her future care could be accommodated in Robin House Dove Court. I was allowed to choose a room for my mum which was granted and the whole of my mum's belongings were relocated, pictures hung, furniture moved and clothing relabelled. Nothing was too much trouble for all staff involved. My mum was welcomed back and cared for with empathy, dignity and love and most of all reassurance she needed at this difficult time. All staff were supportive throughout my mum's last days.

My mum has been in Swallow House for about 9 months. In that time, I have witnessed first-hand how caring and dedicated the staff are. The staff are exemplary in treating my mum as if she were their mum. I visit twice a week and all the residents are always dressed and well cared for. This unit has an excellent manager who leads by example and has excellent interpersonal skills. She is always prepared to communicate how my mum is and where necessary liaise with professionals as the need arises.

I, unfortunately, had to move both my mum and dad into Dove Court Care Home in March this year, one of the hardest decisions of my life! We lost my dad on the 23rd of October, both myself and my wife spent two nights in the home at my dad's bedside. This really opened my eyes to the care and compassion all the staff, bar non, put into each and every shift. I cannot recommend the home enough, their work in very difficult and complex individual needs warms my heart. Hope you all read this and thank you all again.

My mum moved into Dove Court for end-of-life care at the end of August this year.
The care that she received was first class. Many of the staff have worked there for more than 10 years - they are caring, compassionate and friendly. They showed genuine affection to Mum and nothing was too much trouble. Mum was very frail but they took time to engage with her, made her smile and even gave her a kiss on the cheek.
Every interaction I had with the staff at Dove Court was a positive experience. The communication was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

I am so glad that my mum spent the last 5 weeks of her life at Dove Court. I will always remember the staff and felt like part of an extended family in the short time Mum was in their care.

The care shown to Mum was exemplary. She was treated with dignity and respect throughout her stay. The staff were extremely helpful to both Mum and us (family), always going above and beyond. They coped especially well with Mum's sharp tongue. I recommend Dove Court without reservation.

Unfortunately, I lost my husband on the 6th October 2021 but he had spent a year at Dove Court Care Home and I must admit the care he received there was second to none. All staff are really caring and professional and they kept my husband comfortable right up to the last minute. They were also very compassionate towards us too, the family. We needed that kind of support and we certainly got it at Dove Court, kingfisher house.

Thank you all from myself and all the family. You're all simply the best.

My dad was looked after and cared for by these lovely staff, he wasn’t in there very long, but long enough to see the time and care the staff put in, some staff assisted him on hospital visits and reassured my mum that he was looked after, the sister went above and beyond to help and get my mum in to spend time with him and in his last few weeks. And a big thank you to the carer that sat with him at the end. Means a lot.

My dad was in Kingfisher for dementia care for almost 2 years until his death this month. I cannot fault the care he received. He was quite a challenge on a day-to-day basis, but they showed professionalism and genuine affection towards him. In his last days, they showed great compassion and helped him die comfortably and peacefully. I always felt they cared for him as much as me.

The staff here are wonderful! They go above and beyond their professional obligations, to both residents and their families, on a daily basis.
Rarely do you see a complete team of staff show a natural tendency of care, compassion, and empathy! They truly care and their commitment to their residents is without doubt.

It's often the little things which set apart an excellent care home from a good one and the commitment, attention to detail, and leadership shown by the entire management team is exemplary! It's not just a care home - it's a family.

Review from D C (Grandson of Resident) published on 12 March 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My grandfather lived here for around 3 years and recently passed and I collected his things from the care home after pressure from the staff due to needing his room for another resident. When I collected his things the staff were somewhat rude and dismissive and also lacked care and empathy. They opened the door, placed my grandad's belongings into bin bags and a suitcase and placed it at the door and closed the door behind them - no 'sorry for your loss' or anything.
When I went through my grandad's belongings it had obviously been thrown together without any real care. His clothes were tatty and had his name/room number written in marker on the inside and the ink had seeped through and the suitcase had empty shampoo bottles, broken glass and other bits of general waste inside.

I can’t fit a full review on the care home as I’m limited to 1000 characters but the aftercare is severely lacking and the staff show no empathy toward their residents family.

My Mum has been at Dove Court for just over two years. I can’t praise the home enough. Everyone is so helpful and kind. Even though I haven’t been able to visit as I am shielding, the staff have kept me up to date and we have had video calls whenever we have wanted them both the care staff and activity staff have arranged this. Mum also looks really well. She never has a bad word to say and often tells me she feels safe and happy. Mum often tells me that the managers have been to see her as well which again is lovely to hear. Well done to everyone there.

My husband went straight into care from hospital and I and my family felt that he settled really well and was happy there. All the staff showed great kindness and compassion. We were always made welcome when visiting, in my case, most days, and were always consulted and kept up to date with his care and needs. As I was there so often, I saw how kind the staff were to the residents and would spend time chatting to them. All the staff were excellent.

My mother-in-law was transferred to Dove Court from hospital at the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown.
This was traumatic for all of us; she'd fallen out of her bed in the morning at home and has never been back to her bungalow since.
Thanks to the care and attention from staff on Nightingale she has settled in so well she's made the decision not to return to her bungalow. Quite a transformation!
My mother-in-law has been introduced to new friends, she's been invited to take part in social activities and she's flourishing.
One of the girls even creams her legs so they don't get too dry! Just an example of the extra mile they're willing to go.

Thank you Dove Court.

The nurses and carers at Robin House are simply amazing. They have cared for my nan and got to know her personally. Nothing is too much trouble.
Now the time has come, when my nan is deteriorating, they have taken us (the family), under their wings. They have kept us updated and made sure we are ok.

Thank you for looking after my nan. I will never forget you all.
