All the staff are extremely caring, helpful and dedicated. Although the Christmas celebrations were cut back due to covid everyone was really lovely and attentive. I also attended Valentine's Day celebrations. This was so enjoyable and the room was decorated fantastically well. I was really impressed with everything - every detail had been thought through. All the residents were treated with respect, which showed that they were all cared for as individuals. Every time I go to visit everyone is very welcoming and happy. A lovely place.

My mum came in for end-of-life care in January. The staff have all been amazing, so caring, kind and compassionate. They have been very gentle with Mum and made her as comfortable as possible at the end of her life. They took very good care of us, especially when we needed to be with Mum around the clock. They have always been very honest with us regarding Mum's condition. We are so glad we chose Laurel Bank.

My nanna came into the home on end-of-life care but has now been here for over a year and has thrived in the care she has received. Lovely caring staff and high-quality nutritious food have made a huge difference to her well-being. Communication with family could be improved i.e. Care plan and general issues in the home e.g Covid cases.

What a beautiful day we were given by the staff at Laurel Bank for Christmas Day. Our family were treated to a great Christmas dinner with turkey and all the trimmings plus a choice of wine. We all enjoyed ourselves and my mother-in-law was enjoying our company in the lounge with the large television showing 'White Christmas'. Three cheers for the staff at Laurel Bank.

I have had respite care and visited friends in care homes. So when I sought care here to cover what I knew would be a stressful period, I was aware of the pros and cons, and my choice of Laurel Bank has proved to be a wise one. Congratulations to the whole team.

My very reluctant mum came to stay at Laurel Bank Care Home for respite recently. She settled in far more easily than we would have imagined she would. This is down to the amazingly supportive team caring for her. It was a pleasure to visit her and see her so comfortable in mind and body. We were made to feel welcome which also enhanced our experience. Thank you.

Christmas was very enjoyable-lots of good food and a good atmosphere. Meals were very good and being able to watch the King's speech was excellent. It was nice seeing Father Christmas with such a seemingly neverending stream of presents. Thank you so much.

My husband has been taken into the hospital on December 22nd therefore Christmas day was a mixed experience. Throughout the day all staff were caring and jolly being mindful of the situation. The food was excellent and the gifts generous. Despite the circumstances, I had an enjoyable day with caring company.

Lyndsay Scott
Lyndsay ScottJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2019

Hi, my name is Lyndsay, and I am the General Manager here at Laurel Bank.

I am an RGN and have worked in the care sector for over 20 years. I moved over to Lancaster in 2019 from the North East to work for Barchester.

I began my career as a care assistant in 1998 and found that I enjoyed the environment so much that I trained to be a nurse, then transferred to management.

As a manager of a care home, every day is different and, at Barchester, we endeavor to enhance the lives of all residents on a daily basis. We incorporate their life history's and interests when planning activities in the home so that they can live life to the fullest.

Hello, my name is Jamie, I am the deputy manager, here at Laurel Bank.

I have worked in the home for a number of years and joined initially as one of the home's activities coordinators and then went on to becoming a care practitioner, then I got promoted in 2021 to deputy manager!

I absolutely love my role and especially getting to know our residents and supporting the team in the delivery of high standards of care. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends.

Hi, my name is Sally, and I am one of the Clinical Leads at Laurel Bank.

I was previously a registered manager for 6 years with another company & decided to follow my heart and return to a nursing role as this also provides a great work life balance.

My passion is around end of life care and working with the professional and caring team collaboratively at Laurel Bank. I feel I now have my "dream job" in a wonderful care home.

Jaimy Lee Almond
Jaimy Lee AlmondJob Title:Activities CoordinatorJoined: 2018

Hi, my name is Jaimy Lee, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Laurel Bank.

I have worked in the care home industry for over nine years. I started working at Laurel Bank in 2018 as a carer, and then, I was promoted to senior carer which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I moved over to activities in 2020, as I was asked to help out and help encourage residents to join in. During this, I realised how much fun it could be and chose to stay on and got promoted to Activities Coordinator.

I love my role as every day is different and I try to make sure the residents are happy and engage in meaningful activities, this also helps support the transition for new residents.

Grant Prichard

Hi, my name is Grant, and I am the Head Chef, here at Laurel Bank.

I joined the team here at Laurel Bank in 2020 as a second chef but got promoted to Head Chef!

I love cooking for the residents and tailoring my plans for each individual resident. I especially enjoy putting on spreads for the many parties and gatherings we have. Every day is different at Laurel Bank, and I really love the challenge!

Tim Collins
Tim CollinsJob Title:Head of MaintenanceJoined: 2024

I started working for Barchester in March 2024.

I had my own business for 20 years as a builder and fancied a change. When I came for my interview for Laurel Bank I knew straight away that this is where I wanted to be. The staff were so friendly and you could see that it was all about the residents I wanted to be part of a team like that. I do all sorts in my role like painting, fixing things and even charity events like car washing day. I look forward to my future here at Laurel Bank.
