Standing in four acres of landscape grounds with spectacular views of the surrounding Lancashire countryside, Springhill Care Home provides top quality luxury en-suite accommodation, and personalised care and support for adults and older people with a variety of needs.

The Care Home and Care Centre are both therapeutic but homely, designed for care, yet beautifully appointed. Springhill Care Home has been designed from the outset with the aim of providing an atmosphere that is both supportive and purposeful, aiming to strike a good balance between appropriate stimulation and calm.

At Springhill, everyone is encouraged to continue living life to the full. Even with an awareness of limitations residents are encouraged to enjoy the benefits of a lifestyle support team, who work alongside care and support staff enabling residents to enjoy a range of activities.

Mum was at Springhill for sixteen months. During her time there she was treated exceptionally well by all staff on Milnshaw and Cakhill floors. She was very happy there and enjoyed the company of the staff in particular. It was like home from home for her. I cannot thank them enough for their care in
her final days there.

I'm very impressed with the new manager, she's very approachable and promptly listens to concerns. I must say, both myself and my sister have seen improvements in care, staff, professionalism and the cleanliness of the home, and her activities inclusion. I hope she continues her good work. 10/10 from

When I arrived at Springhill Care Home to see mum as she was lying on her deathbed, nobody thought to give me her daughter a phone call or tell me until the moment I walked into her room. Management was being rude and not having the right manner knowing someone was grieving. I felt management where
too quick to judge me or my actions which isn’t pleasant to hear and can be hurtful from the false statements they made to the police. I was simply sitting in another room out of sight collecting my train of thought when management insisted on making sure they were near instead of letting me be alone knowing mum died without family or me near. I just felt I hadn’t had the best experience with the home and management made it very difficult for me to see mum. Even when I complained nothing ever seemed to be done or been dealt with more like brushed under the carpet. It’s so hurtful knowing family are going through this so I wouldn’t recommend.

As previously reviewed, the standard of care on the Springwood Ward is fantastic. My father is very well cared for. However, for us to enjoy taking our relatives outside for fresh air, the current standard of amenity is very poor at the front of the building. The garden and seating are run-down and
depressing. Uneven flagstones, insufficient wheelchair space and dead plants and weeds are everywhere. This is in addition to a poorly maintained bin area - filthy!

Our family felt we needed to send this review in absolute gratitude for the love and care shown and given to our Mum in her time from August 2020 to when she sadly passed away on 20th May 2023.
Staff on Springwood and Treetops have been amazing throughout Mum's care, and hope you are proud of each
and every one of them who has cared for our Mum.
We will never forget the support shown to Mum and ourselves and be forever grateful for the rest of our lives.
In particular, I would like to thank you for looking after Mum in her last weeks on Treetops and for going the extra mile.
Dementia is a truly terrible disease, but without the staff that you have to support Mum and ourselves, we could not have gotten through it as a family.

My mother has had outstanding care in Springhill for five years.
More recently, as her condition deteriorated, I was kept fully informed, and the team were patient and understanding with explanations to questions - we had such as supportive medications.
Sadly she passed away peacefully, supported
by the team, and we know her care could not have been better. The natural empathy of the staff was of great comfort, and their support subsequently was yet again first class, far above and beyond any expectations.
After five years, we now have no reason to visit Springhill, but to anyone considering the best care of their loved ones, there is no better place than this, and we will always be appreciative of the professionalism, compassion and love shown to my mother, and I commend them to you.

My husband of 57 years lives with advanced Alzheimer's Disease. He recently moved to Springhill after a fall and a spell in the hospital. I have been impressed with the way he has been cared for. All the staff are caring and compassionate to my husband and meet all his needs, taking his dignity into
consideration at all times. On my daily visits, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I feel that their care extends to me as well. Communication from the home is excellent, and I always feel I know how my husband is faring.

My auntie is currently in Springhill Care Home. I visit her regularly, and I would like to express how highly thought of Springhill is with my family. I feel my auntie is safe and well cared for. She has the most caring team of staff - all staff members pop into her room during the day for a chat and
keep her happy. She still has the capacity and is asked regarding her care and is able to make her own decisions. If, as a family, we have any concerns, we can talk to the nursing team, and they are very responsive. I really could not recommend the home enough to give you peace of mind whilst your loved one is being cared for.

Exceptional in every way!
The experience for both my parents and us as a family, from enquiry and assessment through to residence, was done with great care and understanding. The support provided has helped my parents transition from their own home to residing and planning for their future needs and
wishes. All of this has been carried out in a compassionate and caring way. The facilities, staff, food and management are amazing!

Extremely satisfied. All staff, except one, were perfect. Mum had a rough passing, as she was unable to drink. Milnshaw was clean, friendly and accommodating. The care assistants, even down to the cleaners, dinner ladies and tea trollies, were very kind and offered help all the time. One last (who we
called snake lady) was fantastic at all times, over and above what was necessary, including hours.

My father has many complex health needs. He has suffered neglect and poor treatment with both NHS providers and at a previous nursing home.
Following another admission, my father was patched up and ready to be discharged into a nursing care facility. A home that could meet Dad's complex nursing
needs.
In January this year, Springhill Nursing Home came into our lives. From the minute the general manager took the time to visit my father in the hospital to assess his needs, we knew things would improve for my father. Springhill put in place a thorough and detailed nursing care plan for Dad. We can now enjoy our visits with Dad knowing that he is receiving the best care possible.
The home is stunning, clean and purpose-built. The staff are well presented and highly professional; they always treat Dad with kindness and respect.
I think that the biggest endorsement I can give is that Springhill is the gold standard for a nursing home.

The staff on Woodlands are like a second family; not only do they support my mum's needs from washing, feeding and changing etc, but they also care about the families involved with the patients, providing lots of advice, support emotionally and friendly. They really do work hard.

I would like to compliment all staff at the home for the care they provide to my mum. I would like to give special mention to those who represented the home at a recent meeting regarding my mum. Their knowledge of Mum and her needs came through, so all the assessor’s questions were answered. What was
reassuring was the ability of staff to speak about Mum from a position of knowledge, but also their caring nature and empathy shone through.

I have been qualified as a Registered Nurse now for over twenty years. Gaining my Registered Manager award five years ago. This is my second care home as Registered Manager. I have worked previously at Springhill as Registered Nurse, Clinical Lead then Service Manager of the Specialist Mental Health Unit.
