Springhill Care Home

After five years, we now have no reason to visit Springhill, but to anyone considering the best care of their loved ones, there is no better place than this, and we will always be appreciative of the professionalism, compassion and love shown to my mother, and I commend them to you.

My husband of 57 years lives with advanced Alzheimer's Disease. He recently moved to Springhill after a fall and a spell in the hospital. I have been impressed with the way he has been cared for. All the staff are caring and compassionate to my husband and meet all his needs, taking his dignity into consideration at all times. On my daily visits, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I feel that their care extends to me as well. Communication from the home is excellent, and I always feel I know how my husband is faring.

My auntie is currently in Springhill Care Home. I visit her regularly, and I would like to express how highly thought of Springhill is with my family. I feel my auntie is safe and well cared for. She has the most caring team of staff - all staff members pop into her room during the day for a chat and keep her happy. She still has the capacity and is asked regarding her care and is able to make her own decisions. If, as a family, we have any concerns, we can talk to the nursing team, and they are very responsive. I really could not recommend the home enough to give you peace of mind whilst your loved one is being cared for.

The experience for both my parents and us as a family, from enquiry and assessment through to residence, was done with great care and understanding. The support provided has helped my parents transition from their own home to residing and planning for their future needs and wishes. All of this has been carried out in a compassionate and caring way. The facilities, staff, food and management are amazing!

Extremely satisfied. All staff, except one, were perfect. Mum had a rough passing, as she was unable to drink. Milnshaw was clean, friendly and accommodating. The care assistants, even down to the cleaners, dinner ladies and tea trollies, were very kind and offered help all the time. One last (who we called snake lady) was fantastic at all times, over and above what was necessary, including hours.

I think that the biggest endorsement I can give is that Springhill is the gold standard for a nursing home.

The staff on Woodlands are like a second family; not only do they support my mum's needs from washing, feeding and changing etc, but they also care about the families involved with the patients, providing lots of advice, support emotionally and friendly. They really do work hard.

I would like to compliment all staff at the home for the care they provide to my mum. I would like to give special mention to those who represented the home at a recent meeting regarding my mum. Their knowledge of Mum and her needs came through, so all the assessor’s questions were answered. What was reassuring was the ability of staff to speak about Mum from a position of knowledge, but also their caring nature and empathy shone through.

My mum has lived at Springhill for four years. She has received excellent care throughout. Her quality of life is much better as a result. The staff are excellent, and they treat my mum with respect and dignity at all times.

I find the home to ver really welcoming. The staff are helpful and treat the service users with dignity and respect. Would not hesitate to recommend the home.

My sister has lived at the home for eight months now. She has settled in really well due to the staffs caring nature. Everywhere is always clean, the carpets were being as I visited. My sister has started to improve slightly, putting on weight. This much be because of the overall standard of nursing. Thank you.

The standard of care is excellent, and the staff are well-trained in all areas. I can honestly say that I am always informed of my mum's care, and l feel that the staff are 100% behind my family. My mum has settled well, and l can visit at any time. I am confident that my mum is receiving the best care.

The care my mother received at Springhill was exceptional. She moved to Springhill after a very bad experience at another care home, and the difference was incredible. She settled in immediately, and the staff throughout her time at Springhill were fantastic and very professional. At all times, the staff at Springhill showed understanding and compassion, and it was a pleasure visiting her there. I would not hesitate to recommend Springhill as an excellent care home.

My wife has been in Springhill since February 2018. She has Alzheimer's and suffers from occasional fits. Since she was admitted, her condition has deteriorated to the stage where she is incapable of doing anything for herself. Throughout her stay, the staff have treated her with love and respect. I cannot speak too highly of the care she receives. It is absolutely first class. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Good quality rooms, very clean and well maintained. The staff are warm and attentive, and the meals are of good quality with plenty of tea or coffee available all day.

My cousin moved into Spring Hill in June last year after a lengthy hospital stay for the repair of a broken leg, which went badly wrong. Since entering Spring Hill, her condition has dramatically improved as the quality of her care has been so exceptional. The standard of nursing is first-class, as is the environment within which she is living. Everyone from reception and management to nursing, therapists and catering staff is cheerful, but cannot do enough to make her comfortable and to encourage her to make her way towards a better quality of life. We have been especially helped by the manager in dealing with the many issues we have encountered in ensuring that my cousin's care is properly provided and adequately funded. An exercise which we have found to be extremely complex and daunting as we have no experience in this field. What a lovely place to visit and know that my cousin is being given the best of care.

I feel so blessed that I have found a place where my husband is safe and cared for in the best possible manner. I also feel that I am supported by the staff as well.

The staff at Springhill were amazing! Our mum was sent to Springhill from the local hospital for rehabilitation. The manager was extremely helpful from the start. She explained all the procedures and sorted out the correct care Mum would need. Unfortunately, Mum took a turn for the worse, but the nursing staff took great care of her and kept her pain-free and comfortable. She died peacefully, and the staff were caring right up to the end.

We found the care given was very good. The room was a pleasant place, clean and warm. The staff were very helpful but were very busy.
