After being invited to a cheese and wine afternoon at the care home, all the staff went above and beyond to make us all feel very welcome. I, myself, met some other residents' families that are in the same situation as us, and all made it a little bit easier with what we are all going through. Putting our loved ones into a care home was the best thing for them and us, and all the staff are always so friendly and on hand if we need to chat. Keep up the great work.

No option for no stars.
If you want your loved ones to be safe, clean and looked after, please avoid this care home. if you question your loved one's progress expect everyone to say what you want them to say, and not the truth. Loved ones are left to fend for themselves. If you want unwitnessed fall added to the list, this is the place. Food is not encouraged before it's taken away. Drinks are limited, as in the heatwave no drinks were available for 3 days! The very professional response from the manager was 'they have tea or milk'. Never in a million years would I ever make the same mistake in placing my mum in this incompetent care home, Abbey Grange Nursing Home.

This is a review I will stand by. The one thing I forgot to say was, don't listen to reviews as most of them were asked to be put on by management and staff members! Who are all related and friends of Abbey Grange Nursing Home.

Really welcoming care home, from day one of my mother-in-law moving in the staff and manager have been amazing.
All staff are caring towards residents and also their families.

My mother-in-law enjoys sitting and socialising with other residents in the lounge and she really enjoys the food.

Brilliant staff and always putting something on to keep residents busy also trips out, I follow their social media page and which is also kept up to date with pictures of the residents' activities on almost a weekly basis so even family members of mine who don’t go to see my mom can see what she is up too regarding trips out and events that the home puts on

Visited my husband's elderly cousin today and had a lovely couple of hours with her along with a few other members of family. We were very comfortable in the quiet room and all the staff were very welcoming, making us all coffee. Our cousin seems very happy in the home and is very well looked after.

We were greeted by friendly staff, it was my first visit but the rest of my family were well known to the staff. They found a quiet room for us all to be together with our cousin. We had a nice, relaxed visit.

I've found all the staff to be friendly and approachable, always cheerful. The accommodation is ok, benefiting from a few personal touches of my Mom's to make it homely. Any questions we've asked have been answered, all requests considered and implemented where possible. Overall a positive experience so far in difficult circumstances. (Mom's first stay in a care home and bearing in mind her physical condition at the moment.)

The decision for a loved one to go into a care home was taken by the hospital protocol and social service/discard team, and was a very traumatic time as we wanted her home, but couldn't get the 24-hour care. However, now she is settled, and I can go every day as it's very local, I'm very satisfied that she is getting the best of care. Staff are all competent and friendly, and although have so much work to cover on their full shifts, they always find time to chat.

My mum was admitted to Abbey Grange in December 2020 for, initially, respite care. She has Alzheimer's and it soon became apparent that she would need residential care on a permanent basis. Since June 2021, she has deteriorated, and is now bedridden, and has lost the ability to move, walk, talk, and can't communicate. Abbey Grange have been absolutely fantastic. The care team look after her in such a caring and professional manner. I am reassured that my mum is being cared for, especially now that she is in the later stages of Alzheimer's. I am kept informed of any changes in mum's condition and consulted before any decisions are made. I am extremely grateful that mum is being kept warm, comfortable, relatively pain-free and fed, etc. My sincere thanks go to the manager, the receptionist, and also other staff and nurses - they are all outstanding.

My mum spent her last years in Abbey Grange with Alzheimer’s and was cared for by truly amazing staff! They made her time here happy, she made a lot of friends and was looked after so well that it was comforting to see this on our many visits to see her! On mum's passing, she was treated with dignity and respect, we can only say that the care given in her last days was excellent!
