Moorend Place Nursing Home, in the Walkley area of Sheffield, is a fifty-three en-suite bedroom facility that specialises in dementia care in both Nursing and Residential.

Those who have experienced a high standard of care at Moorend Place have had the opportunity to pursue an independent lifestyle, the benefit of one-to-one sessions and a varied programme of activities. They now have two activity staff working full time to provide a busy programme of events.

The service involves loved ones of residents as much as possible, they invite you to visit whenever you like and discuss your loved one's care with staff whenever you wish.

I went to Moorend Place on July 21st for the summer fair. All the residents were well looked after. All staff were very helpful and friendly a really enjoyable day.

My first experience of Moorend was laughter from the staff and residents and I knew I had found the best home for my husband. I am always made welcome and can visit anytime.
My husband has settled in and is always treated with kindness, even when his behaviour is challenging.
There is an excellent
entertainment team, who provide games, outings etc.
The Friday coffee mornings are wonderful, a chance to talk to other residents and their families, not to mention the wonderful cakes baked by the kitchen.

Our Dad has outstanding care and has done for several years. He clearly is well looked after both physically and emotionally. He always has a smile on his face. His environment is stimulating with intervention from all staff. Staff are warm and friendly, always willing to have a chat and offer support.
The management are approachable and professional at all times. Highly recommend Moorend.

My dad lived at a residential home and was taken into hospital very ill. Going forward, it was decided he had to have nursing care. He was so ill the hospital told us it was a matter of days more than weeks. He was moved to Moorend where they could give the end of life care.


Wow! This was 7 weeks

ago and now my dad has improved so much it is unbelievable how he has recovered. He sits around the table for meals he has a conversation with us and he is clean and dressed every day. This is all down to the exceptional care myself and family can not thank Moorend staff enough.


From our hearts thanks to you all my dad is very happy here. 100% recommend Moorend.

Moorend Place Nursing Home has been my mums home for the last five years. From day one her care has been excellent, the staff and management are all friendly and approachable. Her care is totally tailored to my mum's needs, and my mum as a person. The staff are like family and treat my mum with great
respect and love.
To have to place my mum in a home even though it was for own safety was the hardest thing I have ever done but I know she receives love, hugs and joy from the staff and that puts my mind at rest. She is loved, safe and totally well cared for.

Moorend has made my dad extremely comfortable and he has settled in very well. The home is clean and provides excellent care for dementia patients. They have made every effort to help him, providing support when his behaviour has been erratic and care when unwell. The staff have made me and my family

We have found the staff to be extremely caring and nothing is too much trouble. I have also found that any telephone enquiry was dealt with straight aware and my questions answered to my satisfaction.

Mum has been in Moorend Place for twelve months and we are really happy with her care. We feel she is part of a family and the staff treat her with real affection. As my mum slowly deteriorates over the five years in nursing care, the amount of care given has risen to protect and assist her. All the staff do an excellent job of servicing ALL the service users needs, as far as I have seen. They also do a great job of helping and assisting elderly visitors too.
I still can't help thinking that little more resources into activities for service users would improve the well being of all. Moorend Place now has a second activities staff member and more events are now planned. Thanks to all concerned.

I have recently attended a coffee morning for a friend who has just gone into the home. The home is lovely, friendly staff with a great atmosphere. My friend seemed really happy and said she liked it here. Looking forward to the Christmas coffee morning.

Emma has undertaken several care roles within Moorend Place before been appointed Home Manager in October 2017 and is registered with the CQC. Emma is passionate about providing high-quality care and feels that residents should be at the heart of all that is done within the home. Emma and her team work closely with residents and their families to ensure that the care received is truly person-centred. Emma and the team have built strong relationships with the community allowing residents to access the community easily.

Moly has been the Deputy Manager at Moorend Place for 4months but prior to this was working as a Clinical Nurse across Roseberry Care Centres.

Tracy has over 25years experience and has worked her whole career in care at Moorend Place. Tracy is committed to ensuring that her residents have the best care possible. For the last 7 years Tracy has been the unit manager of the residential unit. This role has allowed her to oversea care plans, medication and develop relationships with professionals and families. Tracy was nominated for care home award in 2023 by her colleagues. Tracy is a crucial part of Moorend and the team.
