I visited my uncle mostly about three/four times a week. He developed from being worn out with his health and life problems, into a contested gentleman.

At a time that is truly heartbreaking, intensified by the management at Springfield, not keeping us informed of our father's deteriorating health is difficult to comprehend. On making daily phone calls, only to be told he was 'fine'. When quite clearly he wasn't.
We most definitely would not recommend
Springfield and feel there is a lack of communication and truth from the management.

I am so pleased that my dad was able to take up residence at Springfield. The care and attention he has received has been superb. Especially at this very difficult time, the staff at Springfield have shown him every courtesy and kindness. He wants for nothing. I would not hesitate to recommend Springfield
to anyone who is looking for a care home for themselves or for a relative. The home itself is purpose-built and the rooms are spacious, modern and well fitted out. All rooms are en-suite. The garden is well laid out and maintained and safety is a prime consideration. There is always someone to talk to if I have any concerns at all.

Whilst there are some pleasant staff members at Springfield, I do feel that the overall care is of a low standard, the residents are not treated with dignity and it does feel more like a nursery rather than a facility that treats people with the dignified respect that they deserve, many residents were
spoken to like children. In my grandfather's case I had to assist with keeping him warm and occupied at times and you do get the feeling that anything done is just for show when the resident family and friends are present. I would not recommend this care home based upon the level of care and consideration given to the residents from my own observations, there were some members of staff who appeared genuinely disinterested.

While I am fully aware of what a difficult and challenging time it is for staff at Springfield, it is with great sadness that we feel we were not kept aware of my father's decline and ill health and Springfield were not forthcoming with the correct and true information. From been told on each and every
call daily he was fine, he clearly was not and finding out by other sources was very upsetting. There were quite a few things that were never quite right. It is with regret I am sorry to say I would not recommend Springfield under their present management.

Extremely disappointed with the very poor communications from senior management throughout the past 9 months at the home. From my relative falling twice within the first three months of him taking full-time residence, up until him passing away from Covid-19.

Over the course of my fathers stay at Springfield I can honestly say he was looked after so diligently and with respect. He was made to feel so cared for by all the team which for the family was all we wanted and could have asked for. I would recommend without hesitation Springfield and all the team
for a care home you can trust and have peace of mind.

My grandma was in the home for nearly two and a half years before she passed away last week. I've always felt my grandma was safe, well-fed but most importantly cared for. As her only visiting relatives, me and my family saw countless times the interaction between staff and residents and felt the warmth
and affection they show. I can't thank the staff enough for giving my grandma dignity in her final days and hours and for treating me with such kindness and compassion.

The staff are doing an amazing job in very difficult and challenging circumstances. As families, we cannot visit but we receive daily updates by telephone complemented by photos and videos on social media. We cannot thank the staff enough for their exceptionally hard work and their motivation as a team
to continue to give a high standard of care. Words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you.

The staff at Springfield have always made me feel welcome. (I’m reviewing April, but all the time my dad has been in Springfield, I’ve felt the same).
Looking after older people with disabilities is not easy, so I salute the staff for the work they do when in exchange they are not paid well for the
care they give.
The food is excellent, I’ve eaten with my dad twice now, once was on Christmas Day when my mum and I were treated to a delicious three-course meal, which we ate in the dining room with dad - it was really lovely, and the staff on duty worked hard to make sure we had a good time.
Thank you for all you do, and especially now in the current situation, it must be a lot harder emotionally too.

The staff are amazing. They look after my Grandad so well and they always welcome us when we visit. They are especially kind to my 4-year-old and my 1-year-old when they join me visiting their Great Grandad.
There is a real family feel in the home and you can tell the staff genuinely care about the
residents. The food always looks delicious and the cleanliness of the communal areas and of my Grandad's room and bathroom is excellent.
The social media updates are very much appreciated at the moment too, the staff are doing a great job. Thank you.

We, as a family, cannot fault this care home, they have been truly amazing. Mum first went into this care home in 2016 with Alzheimer's, and up until her passing this month, has been treated with love, respect and dignity. Mum always seemed happy there, and all the staff were so lovely. We would not
hesitate in recommending this home to anyone, and the support they gave us in Mum's final week/days was outstanding, so glad we chose Springfield - no regrets at all!

From the reception staff to the hands-on carers the staff at Springfield are excellent. I am particularly pleased that my Mum's carers spent time, skill and intuitive care when communicating with her as she was virtually non-verbal. Mum always enjoyed her meals which were tasty and nutritious.
I would
not hesitate to recommend Springfield care home as it had been recommended to me prior to her arrival.

I am so happy that my sister and I chose this home after looking at several. The environment is so welcoming. The decor in communal areas is lovely with lots of nostalgic touches for the elderly residents. My uncle loved the jukebox but the main reason for my recommendation is the staff who showed nothing
but the utmost care and compassion.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.839)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.839) out of 10 for Springfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.839 for Springfield is calculated as follows: ( (380 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 446 Ratings = 4.839
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Springfield is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 99 registered maximum number of service users is 19.8, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
