My grandma was in Springfield for only five weeks and what a difference it made to her life in such a short time. The staff got to know her so quickly, and she was up and part of the community instantly. We absolutely loved the wish tree, and that staff knew she was a Beethoven fan. The home was immaculately
clean, and she was always treated with such dignity - she had her pride back thanks to you. She got to do so much in her short time, including going to mass and eating her favourite meals! We loved being able to see her adventures on Facebook too. On behalf of all my family, thank you.

Overall good, due to the exceptional situation due to Covid, so I can't say what it was like Pre-Covid. But under the very difficult circumstances, excellent. Always kept informed all the way through.

I didn't get to see Mum much during the six months she was there due to lockdowns. So my review is limited. End of life, when my brother could be there, he said was caring and compassionate.

We have been visiting my brother, who is extremely ill, and were amazed at the care, gentleness and kindness shown to him. As he was dying, we were allowed to visit anytime and stay as we wanted. Staff were so kind and considerate towards us in every day possible. We thank them so much for the care
shown to our brother.

The care, support and stimulation have produced an environment that has enabled my mother to not only survive the recent (and continuing) pandemic but to thrive. She is as well or better than when she was transferred to Springfield several years ago. This has been, without doubt, due to the diligence,
caring and sustained provision by the management and care staff.

Both my dad and my mum were staying at Springfield, Dad for a short time, and my mum for two years. I was very satisfied with the care they both received from all the staff and how the staff coped during Covid and kept us updated with video calls and visits when allowed. The manager and the team kept
me updated on my mum near her end of days. Six stars to all

My father moved into Springfield in November 2019; he settled in slowly as first. He had been on his own for two and a half years since my mother did, and was not used to being with so many other people. We visited for the next four months, and he was a whole lot better, enjoying the meals and happy
he had a lovely room and was content. He had no complaints. Unfortunately, lockdown started, so we did not visit for 14-months; he had twelve visits, eleven outside and one inside - 23 December 6-hours in total in 9-months. I was happy with how good he looked, clean and tidy. I feel I am not the best to give a review not being able to visit. My sister and I are very grateful to the staff for all the care knowing he was safe and well; many thanks.

My husband was admitted to Springfield 10-weeks ago with dementia. He was allocated a room opening onto the generous outside space, which is well laid out with trees and plants. The staff are amazing, the management is excellent, the carers are wonderful, always cheerful and have time to chat and answer
questions, and the same applies to the reception staff. My husband is content and well cared for. We have hit the jackpot level.

My mum was a resident at Springfield for over three years. Mum had dementia, and the staff were very kind and helped her keep to a routine and engaged her in activities to keep her stimulated. With the passage of time, her dementia became worse, and Mum became bed-bound, so her care needs changed. It
is a testament to the quality of care she received that Mum survived much longer than expected. Her inevitable death was peaceful. I am so glad we found such an excellent care home for Mum.

My late father was very comfortable and happy the last three and a half years at Springfield. He was taken to the heart by many of the staff that thought dearly of him and him of them. We, as a family, we’re very satisfied with his care. The staff and managers were all brilliant in all that they do
and did for Dad. I couldn’t thank them enough, best wishes.

My father came into Springfield Care Home following a fall and extended stay in hospital.
He was 95 and very fail. As is covid protocol he had to isolate for two weeks and the staff worked hard to facilitate communication via his mobile phone.
All staff were very caring of him and also us as they
managed palliative care and our visits. I am more than happy to recommend their care.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.839)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.839) out of 10 for Springfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.839 for Springfield is calculated as follows: ( (380 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 446 Ratings = 4.839
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Springfield is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 99 registered maximum number of service users is 19.8, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
