My sister has been at Springfield care home since November 2022, having been assessed as "unsafe" to return home from the hospital because of her failing memory and increasing confusion. She has lived on her own for many years, enjoying her independence and following her many interests, so initially,
she was reluctant about living in residential care. What a difference it has made to her. She settled in remarkably quickly, loves her room, which she has made her own and says she feels safe and comfortable there. She's an enormous fan of the quality and range of meals/food served. She enjoys the general atmosphere of Springfield and is more than appreciative of how staff actively support and encourage her independence and interests whilst at the same time caring for and supporting her needs. It's been a great pleasure and comfort as her family to hear her say how happy she is at Springfield. We love to visit her here too!

Mum resided at Springfield, living with dementia for five and a half years. During this time, the staff cared for Mum with love, care and compassion as if she was one of their own. There was always laughter, fun, and cuddles when needed, which were a truly amazing team. The home is very well run with
the manager at the helm, and as a visitor, I always felt welcome on arrival. When Mum passed away, I could not have wished for better care for Mum; the staff were exceptional - true angels.

My dad became a resident at Springfield in October 2021 and remained there until he sadly died on Easter Sunday, 2023. He had vascular dementia. I can only say super positive things about Springfield. The staff are like angels! The love, respect and care they gave my dad, and also very obvious to all
the residents, was amazing. In what must be a challenging work environment; their dedication and professionalism is first-class. They were always super friendly to us as a family when we were visiting or needed information. During his last few days, when we, as a family, spent a round-the-clock vigil with my father, the staff could not have been more supportive. For that, we will always be very appreciative. The home itself is very well laid out. The facilities are excellent. Their ability to cope with different dietary needs and cleanliness was always of a high standard. I would highly recommend Springfield to anyone looking for a safe and caring environment for a loved one.

Mum has been a resident at Springfield care home now for nearly six years. The staff are amazing and look after her very well. She has her own room and is allowed to have her own personal things in her room. They treat Mum with the dignity she deserves. If there are ever any issues/problems with Mum,
they always telephone me. Lovely, caring staff who have a very difficult job to deal with. They deserve a medal.

My mother has been cared for in Springfield for over four years. From the start, we felt she was getting great care, and this allowed us to relax, knowing she was safe. She was cared for up to her recent death. The care they provided was exceptional. She was clean, warm and comfy, and he knew she was
valued. We cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness.

It's nearly seven years since we were looking for care for my mum. At that time, we decided that both the facilities and care given to those there made Springfield the best choice within the vicinity. During the period of nearly seven years since, the professionalism and care of everyone there, both
past and present, have confirmed that we made the right choice. She was loved, cared for, and will now be missed by many people, the residents, the staff and her family, who all know that the last years of her life were happy and surrounded by love and respect.

I was kept up to date with changes to my auntie's condition. Staff have always been polite and courteous and showed great care towards my aunty. The staff made the effort to put a blanket with my auntie's dog on it, on the wall. A nice touch. Cleanliness was great. My aunty didn't use the facilities
to the full so I cannot comment fully on activities. Overall, very pleased with the care given.

I think the staff are very friendly and helpful. The place itself is very clean and tidy. There's always snacks and drinks available to make your visit more comfortable. It doesn't smell as you might think it does for a care home and there's always a buzz when you visit (a pleasant vibe), there always
seems to be something going on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Springfield.

Mum had three very happy years at Springfield before passing away after a short illness, but basically old age, 92!
Mum was very well cared for and enjoyed various activities, even through lockdowns.
All the staff and carers were kind and welcoming.
I am very grateful.

All my family were very happy with the care given to my father in his last three years, which were spent at Springfield.
They always showed him such loving care and devotion.
He was always happy, which makes us feel we had made the right decision at a very difficult time three years ago. He suffered
from vascular dementia, which made him do things that were not safe for him or others.

Putting my dad in a care home is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. He had just lost my mum and could not manage on his own despite my best efforts to help him. I felt so torn and guilty because he so wanted to stay in his own home. The staff at Springfield were so very kind and amazing right
from the first phone call I made. When first going into Springfield, it is very bright and welcoming, with lovely seasonal decorations, a lovely lounge and dining area and really nice rooms. When my dad arrived there, they made such a fuss of him. I can't describe how kind and understanding they all are. It was way beyond my expectations, and I feel so relieved and fortunate to have got my dad a place here. The staff are friendly, compassionate, caring and attentive to both my dad and me. If you are looking for a care home, I can highly recommend Springfield.

Absolutely fabulous place. My dad has been in the home since Dec 2021, and he is very happy. It's so clean, and the staff are wonderful. We never have any problems when we visit. We take him out as much as we can, and he is more than happy to return. The food looks delicious, and everything is spotless.
The staff are friendly and always happy to help. Highly recommend this home.

Springfield care home looked after Dad brilliantly during his short stay here. The staff really took care of him. Sadly he passed away there, and during his last few days, they cared for him and also his family during our bedside vigil. The home itself is truly like a "home from home". The staff are
kind - everyone there, including the staff "behind the scenes".

My mother has been a resident at Springfield Care Home for three years. My sister and I continue to be impressed with the home. We have always felt confident that she is being well looked after.
Recently she was taken seriously ill and we started to plan for the end of her life. Thankfully she is
a fighter and to everybody's surprise, she has recovered.
During this period the staff could not have been more supportive. They showed a genuine love for Mom which was clear to see.
We naturally, during this period, spent more time at the home. I have always believed it to be well run but during our extended stays, I saw how efficiently managed it really is.
The building is very well set out, residents seem happy to be there and staff definitely go the extra mile to keep everybody entertained.
Well done Springfield.

Dad has recently entered Springfield and immediately settled in and made friends, loving the place and staff. His condition has quickly deteriorated and is now receiving end-of-life care. Subsequently, we have been spending considerable time here at all hours. I can honestly say the facilities and,
more importantly, the staff are consistently excellent. The level of care my dad is receiving is a great comfort to us. We highly recommend this care home.

My husband was in Springfield for nine months before sadly passing away. The care and love he was given was second to none and also the care given to me was excellent, and, as I was visiting almost every day I became to regard them as my second family. His room was always spotless as was the rest of
the home and I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone.

My dad was in Springfields in Bradford; he was there for about nine months. The home is spotless and doesn’t have that ‘care home smell’.
The staff were amazing and became part of our family; they loved and cared for my dad as well as my mum, who visited him every day.
The activities my dad took part
in when he first went in, he really enjoyed, especially the quizzes and the wine and cheese afternoon.
I can’t recommend Springfield enough, the whole team are lovely and they cannot do enough to ensure that the best care is given.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.839)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.839) out of 10 for Springfield is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.839 for Springfield is calculated as follows: ( (380 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 446 Ratings = 4.839
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Springfield is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 99 registered maximum number of service users is 19.8, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
