After many months in hospital, my dad moved to Manorcroft on his 88th birthday. The staff baked a cake, sang happy birthday and trimmed his room as a lovely welcome to his new home. Thank you to the Manager, Deputy Manager, Activity staff and all other staff for your care, understanding and compassion towards my father and the family during our difficult time. Contact was mainly via telephone and video calls to Dad during his short stay and via these calls, we were also able to get to know the lovely staff at Manorcroft. Activity workers would update me about planned activities such as an armchair flight to Italy, Halloween, coffee mornings and how Dad was encouraged to join in and enjoy these get-togethers. You are all doing a wonderful job in these difficult times, thank you again.

The hardest decision a family can make is to entrust the care of their loved ones to a third party. I can honestly say from the moment my mother was admitted to the day she parted care we did not for one moment regret our choice of care provider. The staff became not only carers but friends to Mum and ourselves. The care she received at Manorcroft was simply exemplary and the difficulties experienced during the Covid outbreak were dealt with not just swiftly but also extremely thoroughly. A hard time for all involved and we really appreciate the sacrifices made by staff and management to ensure residents were protected and stimulated during the lockdown periods. A big heartfelt thank you to the manager and her wonderful team for the love and care given to Mum. True heroes to us.

My uncle was admitted to Manorcroft Nursing Home; he had terminal cancer. The staff and the nursing staff were superb. They gave him and our family dignified care. I cannot fault my uncles final days. The made his passing comfortable and painless. They are all heroes in these troubling times.

I just cannot believe how lovely and caring all the staff of Manorcroft Dewsbury are. My husband had only been a patient just over a fortnight when lockdown began. It was heartbreaking as he doesn't realize what is going on. I know he is looked after brilliantly. I just hope I get the chance to see him again when all this is over. the carers are worth their weight in gold. Thanks for everything.

My mother arrived at Manorcroft Nursing Home in Mar 2019. Her stay so far has been lovely. I know when I am not there that my mother is receiving the top level of care. Everyone that works in Manorcroft has a loving, friendly and professional attitude to the care that they give to everyone and I know that my mum feels happy, comfortable and safe. And I also love the warm homely atmosphere at Manorcroft. A massive thank you to you all.

Mum was in the home only a few days before the Coronavirus restrictions were imposed, so I only visited mum in the home three times. On the occasions I did visit, I found the care good, the staff were friendly, seemed very competent in their duties and had a lot of empathy with Mum who is receiving end of life care. During the restrictions, the staff ensured we were updated on Mums condition; including video and phone calls. Mother’s Day and her 95th Birthday; were also celebrated in our absence. The family are all satisfied we made the right choice of Manorcroft for our Mums care.

My mother was admitted to Manorcroft two days before lockdown. She had been discharged from the hospital on a palliative care pathway. We were only allowed to visit her for two days before visiting was suspended and didn't have time to get to know staff or the routine within the home. This means that I can give a review that is unbiased and not influenced by personal relationships.
Despite my mother's fragile condition and not being able to visit and see for myself how she is, I have great confidence in Manorcroft's ability to care for her and keep her safe. The manager has tried to serve up video calls as well as speaking on the phone. On both Mother's Day and Mum's Birthday, they did their best to make her day special.

I feel that they have demonstrated professionalism, compassion and empathy.

I would probably recommend Manorcroft to friends and family. My dad particularly enjoys the coffee mornings and activities, the bingo quiz and going out to lunch club and bingo.

Now as my dad's condition is worsening I am grateful for the care he is having in Manorcroft.

After a cancer diagnosis, my mother was able to stay in her own home for several months until a fall meant that she was hospitalised for three days. She was then transferred to Manorcroft.
I was not quite sure what to expect given that the decision as to where to place Mum had to be taken very quickly. Overall, the choice was excellent, and I cannot recommend the home more highly.

The facility is scrupulously clean and well maintained; rooms are pleasant and comfortable. What really stands out, however, is the quality of the team. Everyone is friendly, approachable and completely down to earth - but what really stands out is how everyone has genuine goodwill and genuinely cares for each resident. This is not a high staff turnover, minimum wage factory - it is a group of people who have both a professional and a personal commitment to everyone in the home. Care, support and dignity are all 10 out of 10.

The team and I find your kind words extremely heartwarming. We go out of our way to make sure that the individual needs of each resident are met but we also want to ensure that Manorcroft is a great place for our staff. It has been a pleasure looking after your mum and getting to know your family. Thank you again.

My mum only came to you this week after a stay in hospital. The worsening of her condition means she cannot get the level of care provision she would need at home. We expected that it would take her a couple of weeks to get settled in but the extremely warm welcome she received and the fantastic caring service you provide means she already feels comfortable and relaxed with you and it is a great weight off my mind seeing her getting the care she needs from a fantastic group of people. Everyone in the home is friendly, caring and responsive to needs and spend as long as needed to make sure mum is eating and is comfortable, as well as feeling pampered by little touches like spending time applying body lotion and doing her hair. As mum is bed-bound the staff all make time to chat to mum so she does not feel isolated in her room. I cannot thank the staff enough for making the difficult transition into a care home much easier for mum- she was worried about moving to a care home.

My mother has been resident in Manorcroft for just over 12 months, and this month celebrated her 100th birthday. Staff really did all they could to make the occasion a special day. Our special thanks must go to the activities coordinators for planning and organising a party for mum, it removed much of the stress from me and allowed me to focus on supporting mum.

We all had a lovely day and staff made all mum's visitors so welcome. Thanks again to everyone, not just for mum's birthday but for the loving care she receives each day.

My Mother was transferred to Manorcroft following 3 mths in hospital following two falls and as it became apparent her Alzheimer’s condition had severely worsened. Our family as a whole were going through a very traumatic time coming to terms with losing our Mother and her no longer being able to live at home with our Father. The home have been excellent on both fronts, working with my Mum to ensure she receives excellent care and attention as she is suffering severely from anxiety due to her illness along with now having very little mobility, no ability to undertake any daily functions, recognise objects and understand simple instructions. They sit with her, make sure she eats and ensure she is very comfortable. The home have also supported us with the transition we can now spend quality time with Mum safe in the knowledge she is being very well cared for.

Lovely staff, friendly and great with mum.
Mum was upset when I visited as she didn't want to go to bed early.

Constructive criticism; Spends too much time in the wheelchair and was put to bed at tea-time all week when it was hot.

My mother was only at Manorcroft Nursing Home a very short time before she passed away. Prior to her stay, she had been, unfortunately, in the hospital a long period. I only wish she had been at Manorcroft Nursing Home.

The care, consideration, dignity and real LOVE gave to my mother was exemplary, absolutely beyond the call of duty. Every member of staff from management down to housekeeping was wonderful. I cannot fault them at all and would recommend the home to anybody. Absolutely A1.
