Overall Experience

My mother has been resident in Halcyon Court Care Home for over five years. For much of that time, she has been a wheelchair user. She will soon celebrate her 102nd birthday.

Mum always likes to go outside when I visit, weather permitting, and the outside space at Halcyon Court hasn't always looked its best.

Over the last few weeks, Marius has worked hard to improve this. The front lawn is now cut and cared for, and he has planted beds, planters and hanging baskets with lovely flowering plants, transforming the look of the building, especially at the front and round the back where everyone enters the building. Residents and visitors, I'm sure, will appreciate this very much. Mum and I do,

she loves to see the new plants and flowers.

I'm glad that Marius is getting some recognition for his work on this. Halcyon Court is a beautiful old building, and it's outside space looks so much better now.

Today was a pleasant surprise. We were all taken outside in the unexpected sun. We were helped out in the garden.
It was a Godsend as many hardly get out
The pleasant surprise was coffee & a few ice creams from the van which served us all.

I would like to thank the team for a pleasant treat.

Sometimes something unexpected happens, which leaves you with a smile on your face and a pleasant memory.
I was sitting in the garden last week. I thought I had missed breakfast, but could get a cup of tea. 10 minutes later, the front door opened... A lady from the 6th floor dining room came out and walked over to me. "What would you like for breakfast?" she said she would take it to my room.
I enjoyed my breakfast and tea.

Sometimes the words 'over and above' are all you can say!

I am impressed by the care and kindness shown by everyone who works at Halcyon Court. My father was invited for Christmas dinner and was impressed by the dinner and how enjoyable the staff made the day.

Finance have been very helpful in supporting me to claim support from the county Council and very recently organised for NHS funding which is amazing! I am so grateful.

I spent Christmas dinner with my mum at Halcyon Court. The staff were amazing and really took the time to ensure every resident was included. They did this with warmth, care and empathy.
The Christmas meal itself was delicious, fresh, tasty and had lots of choice.

Thank you for making my mum's first Christmas here so special.

Mum has been a resident here for just over a year and has settled in really well. The staff are fantastic, from the manager down to the carers who are very friendly and approachable. Mum is really well looked after, kept warm and clean, she has always been very proud of her appearance which has continued with regular hair and chiropody appointments etc. There are plenty of activities which residents can join if they wish. All enquiries are dealt with immediately. If you need help or advice, you just have to ask. I have no concerns at all and would recommend Halcyon to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe and well-run home for their family.

I am delighted to share my experience with Halcyon Care Home, where my elderly relative currently resides. From the moment we entered, we were impressed by the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. The facility is impeccably maintained, providing a safe and pleasant environment for residents.

The management at Halcyon is exceptional, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. The staff are not just caregivers; they genuinely treat the residents like family, offering compassion and understanding in every interaction.

One of the highlights of Halcyon is the food. It's not only nutritious but also incredibly tasty, with a wide variety of options that cater to different dietary needs. My relative often mentions how much they enjoy mealtime, which speaks volumes about the quality of care provided.

Overall, Halcyon Care Home excels in every aspect-from cleanliness to management, staff efficiency, and the quality of food. I highly recommend

My brother has been in Halcyon Court since Nov 24. He had learning difficulties & Alzheimer's. From day one, he received loving professional care. He was given time to settle in and thrived there. However, he reached end of life care. He was received back from hosptial again with tender care. His last days were spent in comfort and amongst friends. As a family grieving, we to were cared for with exemplary levels of concern as well as loving care.

A well organised event for Dorothy's 100th birthday. The event was constructed well, and even involved birds of pray and a visit by the mayor. The event was faultless and went to plan. The staff on the day were very professional, caring and helpful. Couldn't expect anymore.

The staff went out of their way to help celebrate my grandmother's 100th birthday, and to accomodate all the family for a party, including getting a cake, providing a nice buffet, and arranging entertainment - a visit from a bird of prey rescue centre including owls, which my grandmother loves!

They involved the other residents in the celebrations too which was very nice, we had a fantastic day and it's all thanks to the brilliant staff and management
