I'd like to give special recognition to the amazing admin team at the care home. They truly go above and beyond in everything they do. From their warm communication to the extra touches, like printing photos for my great aunt and helping us stay connected. Their kindness and thoughtfulness mean so much to our family.

Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, and their dedication really shines through in every interaction. Thank you for all your hard work behind the scenes, you make such a difference and are a big part of what makes this home so special.

My father was only in the home for six weeks before he passed, but the care he received and the kindness he was shown was wonderful. I'm so glad I chose the home as the place in which he spent those last weeks.

My mother moved to Colton Loges in August 2025 and I could not be more reassured by the care she receives each day in Elmet House. It is clear the team know my mother well, not just her care needs but her personality and preferences. She is happy, comfortable and content. She does lots of activities/visits and has built a circle of friends with wonderful wellbeing teams. I am truly grateful for the dedication and compassion of everyone who works at Colton Lodges. We were encouraged to decorate her room with willing help from the lovely maintenance team. Nothing is ever too much trouble, full medical and social aspects catered for. Thank you all very much

My husband has settled well and is more motivated and engaged than he has been since his stroke 2 years ago. He enjoys the many activities and entertainment and joins in. It would be good to have umbrellas up outside for hot weather as there is no air conditioning.

I highly recommend this care home. The members of staff and the unit manager are caring, warm, professional and were excellent at keeping us informed. My mum had specific care needs for end of life and we were comforted at how well she was looked after from her arrival. We visited everyday, it was so good to witness the high quality care. Thank You never will be adequate for what you all did each day.

This is an amazing care home, such compassionate staff. Everyone cared for our uncle to the highest levels. My uncle was treated with dignity even down to getting him his daily paper, Pepsi max and jellies. Also activities like pie making were amazing.

I am really pleased with the care mum is receiving. All the staff have fantastic relationships with her which is great. With help from the activity team, we celebrated mum's 100th birthday with a party and singer for all her family and friends, which exceeded my expectations.

My uncle was admitted to Colton Lodge on 30/1/2025, discharged from hospital. He was very poorly. I feel the care staff at Colton looked after him very well and treated him with dignity. Also very happy with the management.

Just want to say a huge thank you to all staff at Colton Lodges. From Management to cleaners, everyone makes the effort to remember residents names, their likes and dislikes and always give visitors a warm welcome. I felt like they were an extended family to both myself and my dad. My late father was a real character who kept staff on their toes! The staff loved him and cared greatly for him. He refused to join in anything and everything, but they persisted in asking just in case he changed his mind. I was kept updated with everything in relation to my dad's care and nothing was too much trouble. I cannot recommend this care facility enough. They deserve a Good rating for their next CQC as they are truly amazing.

My mum is asked whether she wants to get out of bed or have a shower as soon as she wakes. When she says no she is not asked again. Mum is bed bound now and often does not get a wash - she uses face wipes and I brush her teeth when I arrive each day at 4pm (even though these basic care duties have been brought up by me before). Often given a cup which she can not hold and food she cannot cut up or chew. Some, but not all, staff do not speak to her when attending her.

We are very pleased with the way mum settled into life at Colton Lodges Care Home. Mum feels safe, well looked after and no longer lonely. The staff in Garforth are all amazing, the unit is well run by a member of staff and her team. We have no concerns. Mums only request is for a nicer outside space to use in the summer and some flowers to look at.

The care is good - the staff are kind. Mum is happy, we feel that sometimes the staff are a bit careless regarding mum's personal items. Her false teeth were thrown away, her hearing aids were lost, items of clothing (all of which are named) have gone missing and her wheelchair was damaged (at a cost of £100 to us!). Obviously mum doesn't know about any of this and would be very upset if she did know.
