Gledhow

During her stay in the home, my wife was treated with dignity by a caring staff. Not only were her needs catered for, but mine was too. Nothing was too much trouble for either of us. I was welcome to visit at any time and welcomed with a hot drink on arrival. On occasions when I was unexpectedly unable to visit, I had either a phone call or a visit by a member of staff to check on my welfare. This continued up to her death on 4/1/18, when concern for my welfare was paramount.

Helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The manager and her team have been a fantastic support. The clean, caring and respectful environment made us feel our loved ones can only be safe and happy staying at Gledhow.

A wonderful place. It is a hard decision to place a loved one in a home, but the care my mother gets from all the wonderful staff at Gledhow is fantastic. The activities are wonderful and my mother especially enjoys visits from the dog and also the donkeys. You can have peace of mind that any family member who resides here is in the best hands.

When my mum needed care and needed to go in a care home I searched loads of care homes and they were all no good. Someone told me about Gledhow care home and I went to look and it was great, everyone was so helpful and answered all my questions and I was so happy that I had found a lovely home for my mum.

When I came to Gledhow I found it clean, lovely staff, great sized rooms and felt very pleased we had found somewhere that my mother would be safe and looked after. The gardens are well kept and we can call anytime day or night, it's just like one big family.

I have visited Gledhow on a few occasions now and I really feel the home is of an excellent standard. The welcoming is warm and friendly and you can feel the positive atmosphere when you immediately arrive in the building. The staff are very approachable and the Manager has a strong presence in the home and appears to lead by example as is often seen on the floor talking to the team and the individuals who live there including visitors. There is a positive relationship between all of the staff from the top to all areas and this advocates an excellent environment to live. I have worked in many care environments so feel I am able to effectively evaluate this objectively and would comfortably recommend anyone to this home.

My aunt has been in 3 care homes, including MHA. From first impression, and in every contact since with MHA, they have been warm, welcoming, helpful and professional. They have gone out of their way and beyond expectations to help accommodate my relative's needs. Moving an independent older person into care is never an easy thing, particularly when they have early dementia, but I am completely at ease with my aunt being at MHA because of the quality of the home and facilities, the activities and the warmth and professionalism of the staff. The bedrooms are smallish but spotless and homely. My aunt's has an ensuite bathroom with shower. The care home manager is an absolute star! She has always been available when I have called or returned my call promptly. She talks to my aunt as an adult to adult without patronising, whilst being sensitive to her position and dementia. She inspires huge confidence. I would have no qualms in recommending this home - in fact, I might book myself in for a week of respite.

Gledhow Christian Care Home is one of the best care homes I have visited. The staff are always so friendly and upbeat, the management team work incredibly hard to ensure staff and service users are happy. You can see this every time you visit the home, service users are happy because they have staff they can rely on. You can always hear bursts of laughter coming from the home from staff, management and service users alike. The service users needs are met and their independence is promoted. It is one of the best care homes I have ever visited no matter what time or day there is always such a jovial atmosphere which the service users need. I would recommend this care home to any of my friends and family as I have seen first hand how incredible the service is there, even under pressure. The scenery is beautiful as you walk in, the care home always has someone available to greet you and help you.

A well run, caring home. The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. Meals are good. The pre-Christmas dinner was an excellent opportunity for residents and their family to share a meal together.

It is lovely but care is very dear wherever you go.

I am visiting my mum. I live in the USA and I think the staff are so great with the way they are looking after their residents. Very understanding, compassionate and attentive and I am really quite happy to go back to the states knowing that my mum is being so well looked after.

Our friend has been in a previous care home. We visited him there and came away thinking how horrible it was and how frail and poorly he looked.

When we visited him the other day in Gledhow Christian Care Home, we were amazed! The difference was outstanding. It was clean, staff were friendly and very accommodating. We had tea and cake and nothing was too much trouble. Our friend was eating lunch and looked relaxed, happy and so much brighter! He was up and about and seemed very much at home. We were so happy to see him that way.

I would highly recommend Gledhow Christian Care Home the facilities are very good, always cleaned to a high standard. The staff, in particular, are wonderful, very friendly, chatty, treat the residents as people- making an effort to know what they like and asking the family for preferences etc. They have regular entertainment for example singers, dog visiting. They also put on meals for families allowing us to eat and enjoy a meal with the family members at the home. There are a range of people in the care home, all relevant needs/requirements seem to be taken care of.

My mum moved into here a week ago and is settling in nicely. The care she is receiving is excellent as are her surroundings.

The manager (who was still working at 8pm on a Friday night!) was extremely friendly and helpful despite my ad-hoc visit. She couldn't have been any more welcoming and understanding of my worries regarding my mother and finding a home for her upon discharge from hospital. A credit to your organisation.

The Manager is a lovely caring person. She has a smiley face. Needs a big pay rise!!

I visit almost daily and can honestly say that what has become routine in tragic circumstances is made bearable by the caring attitude of all the staff and the fact that my brother is comfortable and appears happy there. Thank you very much.

We had to choose a care home at short notice for my mother-in-law and one that provided end-of-life care. We had seen a number of homes, but as soon as we walked into Gledhow Christian Care Home it felt right! There was a lot of laughter, smiles and a lovely atmosphere. She was only there for 6 days but she received the best care ever. I cannot fault the staff and their attentiveness and their kindness - nothing was too much trouble. The carers/staff also looked after the visitors too with endless cups of tea, sandwiches and hugs. Keep up the good work!

The care and personal interaction with my mother-in-law was exceptional. We were allowed to make her toom as near to home as possible. Visiting is so flexible and you are always made welcome no matter how early. I love the fact we could have a cup of tea when we visited and toast if we were hungry. The nursing staff were always available whenever you need to ask questions, particularly one carer who was with us at the end making sure we were informed of every step.
