Mother was placed into Snapethorpe, recovering from a broken tibia (lower leg). She quickly decided she didn't like being there. A clash of personalities with some staff and the care she received. Myself and my daughters had a meeting with management, who listened to our concerns and dealt with them,
things did improve, and my mum's attitude was improved by the time she left to go home. She felt they had done a good job of care and friendship. I felt she had good reason to be concerned about her care; she should have been in rehabilitation - not a care home!

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that we were able to work together to develop relationships with you and your mother during her stay. Thank you for your feedback; it is much appreciated, and we will use this to develop our approach with other residents and families. The current Discharge to Assess process in Adult Social Care means people are discharged to services for rehabilitation and assessment rather than a traditional rehabilitation service. This is a new process, and we work hard to ensure our communication with families and the therapy team supports people to move home if that is their goal. We are pleased we were able to support your mother back home successfully and wish her well in the future.

Dad's carers provide interaction and something to occupy a busy mind, however, he is increasingly forgetful and sleeps a lot. We understand that caring for his needs is difficult.

Sadly my dad was only in your care for a short time, but during that time, he was well cared for. When I visited him, he always said how all the staff were so friendly and caring. Thanks to you all.

To have found people who care during such a profoundly difficult two years, perhaps only equivalent to a world war time, has been a sanctuary for Dad and also for his family. All staff, from housekeeping to carers to manager, have been kind and empathetic, and above all, caring! As Dad became bed-bound,
it is to their care and credit that he never sustained pressure sores! All staff treated him with respect and loved him as though he was part of their own family, for which we are forever grateful. Thank you for giving us this sanctuary.

My father was admitted for respite care in July 2021 - he had a diagnosis of dementia. On his admission, my family and I gave them a full history of his likes and dislikes. I spent an hour with a nurse on the phone telling her this. My father has always been what we term a 'fussy eater'. Two days
later, I was told that my father was eating cereal - he had never eaten cereal in his life and if you put anything milky in front of him he could be sick at the thought of having to eat it! The next day he was sat having porridge! I asked about his drinking and yes, they were ensuring that he drank. On the Saturday my sister had a call from here, Dad had fallen and they were waiting for an ambulance - no carers were going with him to the hospital! He eventually let the clinical staff take bloods. What did they show - that he was so dehydrated he need urgent admission and fluids. The day after admission he died. Would I recommend here - no chance. And they charged for the full fortnight.

My 96-year-old mother spent her last 4-weeks at Snapethorpe Hall after a 2-week stay in hospital followed by 3-weeks at Rehab after a fall. All the staff I met were extremely kind and gentle, tending to her with great dignity and compassion. I would just like to thank all the staff for caring for my
mother during her short stay with you.

My mother only spent 4-weeks at Snapethorpe Hall. During her short time there, I found all the staff very caring and approachable attending to her every needs, treating her with compassion, dignity and love at all times.
I cannot comment on the activities as she was not well enough to participate.
She
had the highest standard of end of care life possible.
I would highly recommend Snapethorpe Hall.

Mum moved into the home in January 2020 and have lived there and been very happy. She has spoken highly of the staff, and we have been very pleased with the care she has received. She has been kept safe throughout the Covid and has been comfortable, content and happy with many friends now.

It has been a rollercoaster for Mum and all the family, but the staff at Snapethorpe have been very helpful and caring to not only Mum but all of us. Mum has now settled in well and is very comfortable, the rooms are lovely, bright and clean. Also, help with food choices, drinks etc. Thank you to all

I have been made to feel very welcoming. Nothing has been too much trouble, as I have been here most of the day. Food and refreshments have been provided and very nice too (have been spoilt). Awkward questions have been asked and answered in a very courteous and sympathetic manner. All staff from cleaner
to management have had a smile, a kind word and sympathy; it feels just as good today as it did when I came to look round for mum and dad. Covid19 has a lot to answer for and no visiting stinks! This is not a reflection on the home.

Mum had been a patient for nearly 5 years, during which time all the staff were lovely and caring towards her even though at times she was violent. My once concern was that during 2019 there was no continuity in the nurse in charge of the nursing unit which was run by supply nurses and they didn't want
to be involved in any queries. The new manager was aware fo this problem and changes are being put in place to address this.
Can't really comment on the food as mum would only eat buns and chocolate. Even when she was dying the carers always made sure she had drinks.
