I have been made to feel very welcoming. Nothing has been too much trouble, as I have been here most of the day. Food and refreshments have been provided and very nice too (have been spoilt). Awkward questions have been asked and answered in a very courteous and sympathetic manner. All staff from cleaner
to management have had a smile, a kind word and sympathy; it feels just as good today as it did when I came to look round for mum and dad. Covid19 has a lot to answer for and no visiting stinks! This is not a reflection on the home.

Mum had been a patient for nearly 5 years, during which time all the staff were lovely and caring towards her even though at times she was violent. My once concern was that during 2019 there was no continuity in the nurse in charge of the nursing unit which was run by supply nurses and they didn't want
to be involved in any queries. The new manager was aware fo this problem and changes are being put in place to address this.
Can't really comment on the food as mum would only eat buns and chocolate. Even when she was dying the carers always made sure she had drinks.

I just want to thank the home and the Well-being coordinator for organising a lovely trip out last week for my grandmother and a few other residents. My Grandma had a lovely time at The Donkey Sanctuary and I can only imagine how nice the change of scenery and fresh air was for her and for the other
residents. From my perspective as a relative, it is so nice to feel like our loved ones are being treated to such nice things like this and also that they aren’t just cooped up indoors all day, every day.
I hope to join my grandma on another outing soon.
Many Thanks.

We chose Snapethorpe for our Mother after a day spent looking at the alternatives last March. Without any doubt whatsoever we made the right choice. My Mother moved to Snapethorpe shortly after and from that day until her passing away on 1 November aged 95 the care she received has been better than
outstanding. Nothing has been too much trouble and on many occasions, the staff have gone above and beyond. What super, super people. As our Mother's health deteriorated the staff have constantly monitored her and have been very quick to react to her medical needs and/or if our family needed to be contacted. It was soon very obvious that, individually, they treated her as a friend rather than just a resident/client and they all became something of an extended family to her. Thank you Snapethorpe Hall. We cannot praise you all highly enough.

My Dad arrived for respite care a few weeks ago, from his first moments there, he was treated with an amazing amount of dignity and respect.

It was his birthday a couple of weeks ago and it was made a special day for him by the staff on his unit

He has had a very difficult year and was a frail

old man when he entered the home but now thanks to the amazing care and interaction he receives on a daily basis, he is back to his cheeky self.

I have not been there at meal times but he tells me that the food is lovely, every time I visit no matter the time of day I am greeted with a friendly word and a smile from the staff, nothing is too much trouble for them, they are all amazing.

I chose Snapethorpe Hall after looking at the CQC inspection results as they were brilliant and I am pleased to say that the home more than lives up to them. The staff are truly brilliant, I cannot thank them enough for the excellent care they provide. I am happy knowing that my dad is being cared for so well.

My mother was becoming more unable to live at home and on her long stay in hospital for 7 weeks, it was decided by her that a stay in a home for respite was needed. Myself and my cousin who was helping me look round a number of care homes and decided on Snapethorpe Hall on visiting we were very impressed
by the atmosphere and the very caring attitude of the staff. When my mother took up residency she was immediately made to feel at home and she was adamant after a couple of days that she did not want to return home. The home itself is excellent as are the staff and I cannot thank them enough for making my mothers last few months so nice and peaceful.

The family were concerned when my father was moved from hospital to a care home that he would not be looked after as we have done for him at home for a number of years. From the initial greeting to him leaving the home, we were absolutely delighted. His vital medication was immediately looked after
and sorted, and his personal care was wonderful. The staff were so caring and respectful and friendly, that it was even better than we could do at home. This home and its staff should be commended for how they treat people especially within the nursing wing where we were based.
I can only say to anyone concerned about moving a friend or relative into this home, don't be as it is wonderful. The staff's kindness and thoughtfulness is above and beyond what is expected in our experience. The devotion to the residents is wonderful and everyone should feel proud of themselves. Thank you all it was a pleasure to meet you all.

My stepfather moved to Snapethorpe Hall for end of life care. In the few weeks he was there he was treated with dignity and consideration. He felt safe at Snapethorpe Hall. The management and staff were always available to support both my stepfather and the rest of the family through this difficult
time. Moving to a care home was a difficult choice but Snapethorpe Hall was the right decision.

Snapethorpe's Hall nursing and care staff are excellent and rightly deserve praise. The level of care they provided for my mother and their support for me and my sister during our mother's stay - and in particular throughout the week's leading to our mother's death - was exemplary.
Snapethorpe knows
how to provide care at the highest level for their residential and nursing clients.

From my first visit in September 2017, seeking a nursing home for my mother, I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The building is modern, bright, clean and well placed for bus services. I rely a lot on first impressions and that took me to chose Snapethorpe Hall. There were
none of the typical nursing home odours and although I accepted that accidents often happen, only once during my visits there was there any problem odour coming from just one room. Staff were always courteous and helpful, my bed-bound mother was well looked after, observation/ turning visits regularly logged day and night, food and fluid intake logs were kept, her room was always clean and her simple, mainly pureed diet was adhered to. Sadly mum's stay was short, and, when she passed away from natural causes, staff kept me regularly informed during her deteriorating condition. Having spoken to friends, and relatives of people there, I have not heard one bad word about Snapethorpe Hall.

Mum has been at Snapethorpe Hall for nearly two years now. She has recently been transferred from the residential unit onto the Kitwood unit.
I have nothing but praise for the staff and management of this care home. Mum's needs are extremely well catered for and the dedication and understanding of
the carers is second to none.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.734)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.734) out of 10 for Snapethorpe Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.734 for Snapethorpe Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (358 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (21 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 451 Ratings = 4.734
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Snapethorpe Hall Care Home is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
