Warde Aldam provides nursing, dementia, palliative and short-stay care for up to 60 residents in a purpose-built home in South Elmsall, near Pontefract.

My dad has been in Warde Aldam for 11 months. He settled straight away. We, as a family, have never had any concerns or worries about him. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, and we are constantly being updated. His room is always clean and tidy.

My husband has been in Warde Aldam Nursing Home for almost twelve months. In that time he has come on with his state of mind so good, it's the care he is getting. Everyone is so patient, also he enjoys the food as he has put on two stone which he really needed to. To me, I am so pleased with the care
he is getting and I am very grateful and thankful.

As with all families, placing a resident into a care home is a big and complicated decision. Fortunately for us, Walde Aldam was local to enable visiting, had links to the Methodist church where my father had been a lay preacher and it was also able to provide appropriate care and expertise through
its very caring staff group - crucially it was also manageable financially. My father has established positive relationships with the staff and has been enabled to spend some social time with other residents. As family members, we are kept well informed and are involved in my father's care when/where possible.

I have visited several care homes with friends visiting their relatives, there was a profound stench of urine and other bodily fluids, dirty carpets and I thought I hope I never have to put a member of my family into one of these facilities. Unfortunately, I have. My daughter put in a request locally
asking for recommendations. She got 50 replies and 43 of them said Warde Aldam was excellent. I requested a place at Warde Aldam without even visiting the home to look around. I am pleased to say I am not disappointed. The home has a very welcoming ambience - it is spotless, above all, the staff are kind, caring and patient, they have good interactions with the residents who are all clean and tidy and smiling. My family member is very happy and content and never once mentioned coming home. The food is excellent with a good balanced diet and the bedrooms are cosy and inviting. I am very happy.

My father was a resident at Warde Aldam for just over two years until he passed away just before Christmas 2022. During his stay there he was always well looked after and supported by the staff. They always kept the family informed of any issues. I usually found my father clean-looking in appearance,
happy and safe. There were many activities to keep residents entertained and the staff went the extra mile to find out what my father's particular interests were (Sheffield United FC). Key events such as Christmas, birthdays, Queen's Jubilee were always celebrated. The food was good and dad seemed to enjoy it. He always appeared healthy and never complained.

My brother has been at Warde Aldam Nursing Home for five weeks. In that time we have seen a positive improvement in his general being, he seems happier. Unfortunately, due to his medical condition, he hasn't improved in his ability. This is due to his strokes and not the staff at Warde Aldam, all the
staff we have seen have been fantastic.

My mum was a resident of Warde Aldam for a number of years before her recent passing. I have nothing but praise and admiration for every single person that takes care of our loved ones, whether it be caregivers, kitchen, maintenance or cleaners they all take the time to get to know residents and give
them dignity and respect. The amount of love and care I have seen, especially over the past six days, day and night, has been overwhelming. I have always had full trust that they would keep my mum safe mentally, physically and emotionally. On the rare occasion, I had a small issue, management was approachable and friendly, always with an 'open door' attitude. I was listened to and it was addressed instantly with no awkwardness, quite the opposite as I had further respect knowing how passionate she is in her role.
When we were looking for a nursing home for my mum we went to many throughout the district from large to small and 'no frills' to top end...but straight away just looking at how residents were treated and respected.

I have been a resident in the home for three months. I honestly cannot fault the care I have received whilst here. From the nursing staff to the cleaners, all have made my stay a happy time.

My husband was in care at Warde Aldam for 9 months beginning August 2021. He required 24-hour care. He settled in well. Staff kept me informed between visits. His room was clean and he was always neat and tidy. My son and I were so grateful for the care my husband received and to know he was safe and

My father has recently arrived in the home following transfer from a home I was not satisfied with. My father is already brighter, has put on weight and appears very settled in a short space of time.
The staff have been really helpful in the transition and I am so happy with the environment and provisions
made for the residents.

My mum is being taken care of 24 hours a day and nothing seems too much trouble for any of the staff. I'm kept informed of all my mum's needs and progress on either a daily basis or a weekly one. The nurses and staff have the patience of a saint with everything they all have to do. I would recommend

My auntie went into Warde Aldam Nursing Home in August 2021 following a stroke. She has needed nursing care and she is now PEG fed. The staff have been very kind to her and encouraged her to join in activities even though she preferred to stay in her room. My auntie was in Warde Aldam during the outbreaks
of infection so had to isolate but still received individual care from nursing staff and carers.

I found the home very welcoming from being met at reception to being shown to my wife's room. My wife looked well, clean and well dressed. Obviously down to the efforts of the extremely caring staff. During my visit, an activity coordinator engaged with my wife and me with some state of the art equipment.
I would recommend Warde Aldam to anyone in need of care.
