Warde Aldam provides nursing, dementia, palliative and short-stay care for up to 60 residents in a purpose-built home in South Elmsall, near Pontefract.

My auntie went into Warde Aldam Nursing Home in August 2021 following a stroke. She has needed nursing care and she is now PEG fed. The staff have been very kind to her and encouraged her to join in activities even though she preferred to stay in her room. My auntie was in Warde Aldam during the outbreaks
of infection so had to isolate but still received individual care from nursing staff and carers.

I found the home very welcoming from being met at reception to being shown to my wife's room. My wife looked well, clean and well dressed. Obviously down to the efforts of the extremely caring staff. During my visit, an activity coordinator engaged with my wife and me with some state of the art equipment.
I would recommend Warde Aldam to anyone in need of care.

Warde Aldam is an excellent care home. Nothing is too much trouble from carers, staff and management. Carers do a very good job looking after my husband who is content living there. Management are approachable, ready to answer any questions and carers and nurses keep me updated about my husband. Nothing
is too much trouble, I am also made welcome on visits.

I have always received a warm welcome from all members of staff. If I need to know anything, I can always phone and get to speak to someone. It has been nice today to actually take my aunty out for a walk, as due to lockdowns, we have had indoor visits only. I know I can leave her feeling confident
she is well entertained and looked after.

My mother was in Warde Aldam for only a short period, but she enjoyed her stay. The staff were brilliant and accommodating. The building and surrounding gardens were spot-on. Pleasant place - would defiantly recommend.

Dedication and care from the staff was impressive. At a very difficult time for relatives, staff did their best to ensure visiting with the safety of residents was able to take place. Everything possible was done to help my wife in very difficult circumstances.

My dad has been at Warde Aldam for over one year now and couldn't be more happier and delighted with his care. The ladies that care for my dad are wonderful, they're caring, patient and compassionate. They are a credit to the home, nothing is too much and constantly keep us informed regarding my dad's
health in between visits. They work so hard with the residents with activities and engaging with them and keeping them active and involved. The home and gardens are always beautifully clean and presented and the food always smells lovely when I visit. The carers always go above and beyond. Thank you so much for everything you do.

I cannot thank this care home enough for the care and support they give my grandad since July last year, since when he has been in there. They support not only my grandad but support families too, especially through the hard times of the pandemic. This care home is like a breath of fresh air. Would
recommend it to everyone. Also, my grandad says the food is amazing.

From the day Mum became a resident, I felt she was happy and well cared for. The staff kept me informed about her health, well being and interactions with others. Although her illness progressed rapidly and Mum was only there four months, I feel the care was second to none. Thank you to all involved.

My mum has been at Warde Aldam for fifteen months. It has been a hard year with the pandemic, but she has been looked after with great care, which has been very comforting. All the staff have done their best with visiting, when we could go outside. Then the pod, which has been nice to see Mum and see
her smiling face. She has just died, at the age of 97 and I thank you all for your kindness and care.

My mother recently went into Warde Aldam in January 2021, after my mother was removed from another home, where she had been since July 2020 and had been badly treated and robbed. My mother was 92 and had dementia; she had not gone to bed in 11-months. When she arrived at the home, the second night,
she went to bed for one hour and the next night, she went to bed for five hours and then she had her breakfast and Sunday lunch in bed and continued to go to bed every since. I do not know how your staff managed this, but they most certainly had a professional and caring way with my mother. My mother was due to come out of isolation within a few days, but unfortunately, her health began to decline. The staff had high hopes and plans for my mother, but it just wasn't to be. The dignity and care they showed to my mother went way beyond care. My husband and I were fortunate to be with Mum for the two days before she passed; they fed us and nothing was too much trouble. I feel if my mother had been in Warde Aldam in July, she may still be alive today. I would like to thank all the staff from the bottom of my heart and I will stay in touch with the home, in case they need any volunteers to help in the home.

I cannot praise the staff too highly, my husband was taken to Warde Aldam in mid-July. The care, support and love he was given was unrivalled. Sadly he passed away mid-December, but he was treated as one of their own. I saw first hand the compassion he was shown. All staff were wonderful, I rang daily
for updates and I believe they cared for me as well as him. Well done all, you have a place in my heart. God bless.
