Mallard Court offered a much needed respite opportunity at short notice. Viewed home on line & met with staff who are friendly and professional. No hesitation in agreeing to them caring for family member. Warm welcome, cheerful staff , excellent understanding of individuals needs .Relaxed atmosphere and visiting opportunities. I am told the food is great and will join for lunch soon . I understand various activities are arranged and will encourage participation. I have observed various staff members interacting with residents and was pleased to see they gave time and understanding to each person . I believe that Mallard Court is safe homely environment where a high level of care is extended to all .

Overall the home is well run and provides a pleasant environment for the residents. All the meals are prepared using fresh products on site, which is not the case in all residential homes. The staff organises regular entertainment and activities for the residents. The home have an open policy toward visits from family and friends and allow visitors to stay for a meal with their family member for a small fee. Overall I am pleased with all aspects of the home and the care that the staff provide.

Very happy with all services provided, staff are very helpfull and compasionate towards my father.
I hope the staff are valued and are paid accodenly as they make this care home a home.

Although value for money I feel is expensive compared to some care homes it is very good.

My mum recently passed away at Mallard Court Care Home. She had been there for approximately eighteen months. From day one to her passing she received all the care and attention she needed as she had dementia. She was happy there despite the dementia and really enjoyed all the activities organised on a daily basis together with the occasional trip outside the home. The staff are really caring with the residents and made sure she had everything she needed right to the end. She really enjoyed the food especially the cooked breakfast every morning. On a personal note I can't thank the staff enough for helping me through her last days and would recommend the home to anyone with a loved one with dementia. Keep up the good work at Mallard Court!

My mother Barbara spent her last 3 months at Mallard Court and the care she received was exemplary. My Mum had Vascular Dementia was deaf and had very bad eyesight. I had never before been in a Care Home which was so well designed to maximise the few senses my Mum still had. She could walk well and was encouraged to do so with attractive bright spacious rooms and corridors with seats placed at convenient spots and brightly coloured textured objects to feel and explore. It was a delight to visit her as both the staff and the residents were all so friendly and kind. All the residents on memory lane had some memory problems, but they all seemed so happy and free. Up to this point I had only visited homes where it seemed to be expected that residents had to sit in a chair all day. Mallard Court was a revelation. I only wish I had discovered it sooner. I would strongly recommend this home to anyone wanting a happy, safe and interesting and stimulating home for their loved one.

Our family found the care in the home to be off a really good standard, our dad wanted for nothing. The food was a very varied menu and really tasty. We found that we as a family could visit our dad at any time.

They had a good choice of activities and reading material. All the staff were very caring towards Dad. Couldent have picked a better place for Dad.

Mum was apprehensive about staying in a nursing home even to help me have some respite from caring for her and my husband.
Apart from a slight niggle getting the tv to work without loosing signal and her room not having a bedside lamp so she could read.
Once these were sorted she settled in and enjoyed her time at Mallard Court.

I was pleased when she said she would be happy to return at some point going forward. She also met a couple of other residents, who she sat with at meal time. They all got on and she asked them if they would like her to visit sometime before she returns.

On visiting my step mum I find the staff welcoming and supportive. The staff during sensitive times ie Covid have put health and safety protection in place as I arrive.
The home is very spacious and homely including the lounge that looks onto a lovely garden area. As is my step mum's room, which has her personal effects/belongings available either in the bathroom or bedroom having her own wardrobe/drawers/television/pictures all around her.
I have witnessed regular varied activities organised to entertain the residents to suit their individual wishes and needs, which I sometimes join in with.
I love the openness of the rooms and that doors are open if no personal situation is in place which means I can say hello/engage other residents putting a smile on their faces.

The home is situated in a lovely area on the edge of Bridlington which has easy access to Carnaby/Driffield/Beverley/Scarborough and the East Coast.

We required emergency care for my parents after a nasty fall, by my Mother who was the primary carer for my Father, everything was sorted within a couple of hours, Dad was admitted that day and settled in straight away, he loved the staff, food and surroundings.
When Mum left hospital, she joined him in the same room, again no issues at all, from management, admin, catering and care staff. Everyone cared and looked after them.

We as visitors were always welcomed and cared for. I think special mention should be made for the night shift who went above and beyond when a couple of medical issues occurred.

My husband was in the dementia unit. The carers were lovely and tried their best to help my husband. There were not enough of them however and they were run off their feet. Some carers did not know how to do stoma bags or convene attachments. There were sometimes difficulties when agency staff came as they were not knowledgeable about the patients. The regular staff, however, were all very friendly and warm hearted and the food was good.

Mum began her stay at Mallard Court, Bridlington, in early January 2024. Sadly, but not unexpectedly, she died in early April 2024. Although fiercely independent and so somewhat resentful of the fact that she now needed full-time care (as she had a terminal cancer diagnosis) Mum soon settled into Mallard and began to appreciate that she was safe, cared for, warm and well-fed. She had many visitors and most afternoons were busy for her. As her son, I was a frequent visitor and soon got to know the staff and formed an opinion of Mum’s new home. We could not have wanted more - Mum was so well looked after in what we felt was an excellent and very well-run care home. There were nurses on hand for any medical problems, she was kept scrupulously clean and her favourite foods were prepared for her as needed. There was daily entertainment provided by the home and her relatives and friends were welcome 24 hours a day. Thank you to all at Mallard - five stars plus!

Barchester Mallard Court Care Home is a really lovely place with a good standard of modern facilities. The atmosphere was warm and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Mum has been extremely well cared for and looked after in the home. She has had a new lease of life. She has enjoyed crafting, watching films and dining with her new friends.
