Staff got to know Mum very quickly and were kind and friendly. They helped Mum become familiar with the routine, giving her a choice to stay in her room or join the other residents in one of the communal areas which were clean and nicely decorated. Mum enjoyed the food and was never short of drinks
and snacks being offered. Special thanks must be given to the medical team who were excellent: taking time to understand Mum's health needs and ensuring they were all addressed. We would like to send a big thank you to everyone at Brooklands.

The staff are very helpful and they treated Mum with compassion, respect and great care. As Mum's Alzheimer's became worse they became her family and they made her time there as comfortable and reassuring as they possibly could. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anybody who has a need for
a relative.

Our mother was admitted firstly to Brooklands for respite, in or around August of this year for two weeks, when us four daughters were struggling to cope with Mum being at home, after being diagnosed with Vascular dementia and Alzheimer's earlier on this year. Unfortunately, through the hot spell that
we had Mum got very poorly and was admitted to hospital and after this rocky spell, it was deemed that Mum could no longer be at home on her own. We had no hesitation but to seek Mum a place back in Brooklands, straight away. Mum settled down very quickly again. She has got a lovely set of friends and we can now rest, assured that she is safe and well looked after. Obviously, we all have teething problems, but any concerns that we have had, have been discussed and they are more than happy to work with us to find a solution. Mum has a lovely room and to top it off, she says the food is fantastic! Thank you to all staff, we feel very lucky.

I have been a resident for 15 years. Luckily then, my sister had worked with the care homes bosses and put me in touch and I have since enjoyed a most pleasurable time. I couldn't have found a nicer and more caring staff. There have been a few minor hiccups, but nothing too daunting. I would recommend
Brooklands, highly.

My father spent an unexpected two weeks at Brooklands in August 2022.
The entire staff couldn't have been more welcoming.
Not just professional, but cheerful and friendly too.
Thank you for making a stressful situation so much easier for my Dad and the whole family.

My 97-year-old nanna has come on leaps and bounds since coming to the care home in 2020. She converses more and seems very happy in this setting. The food looks amazing and smells amazing. The only bad point is that they don't dish up to visitors! One lady has been amazing in setting up initially facetime
over the portal and then visits.

My mother arrived at this home in May 2020, so has been a resident for 14 months. Compared to when she was at home she seems to have improved greatly in conversation, sense of humour and concentration. She seems to be extremely happy with her place and is clean and well cared for. Personally, I am extremely
happy with her care.

My mother was a patient at Brooklands for respite care for 7 days in June 2021. The care, dignity and respect she received were excellent couldn't ask for better care for my mother. She also said if she goes into respite care again it would make her feel better if she is able to go to Brooklands again,
as they made her feel safe, comfortable and very caring.

Mum was with Brooklands last year. The all-round care Brooklands provided was exceptional - from the carers, nurses, cleaning staff, chefs and management nothing was ever too much trouble.
Brooklands provided a caring, friendly and safe environment from day one. The staff were always extremely attentive
and did everything in their power to make mums time here as enjoyable and homely as possible. This was an even bigger achievement due to the additional challenges arising from the COVID restrictions.
Even when visits proved impossible the staff always managed to maintain regular communication both in terms of mums condition and also to facilitate video calls on a very regular basis with mum.
The recreational time was a key feature and the staff were very creative and inventive in their efforts to keep the residents occupied and entertained.
The carers showed kindness in everything they did and the medical team were exceptional.
I would highly recommend Brooklands to anyone.

Just had another lovely FaceTime call with Mum, I very much appreciate the care and dedication of all the staff at Brooklands now and in these previous months working very hard to keep everyone well and safe. Staff are always cheery and we know that Mum is well looked after and happy and that is a great
relief to us. All the staff have given their time we know to look after everyone and keep spirits up in really difficult times as well as obviously having their own lives and families. We are very grateful to such a wonderful bunch of people, thank you.

All the care home staff have been very helpful and kind and very polite from when my dad came in til when he left. The staff kept me updated all the time on any changes at all towards my dad, also he had to get personal care from them all. There was never a time I felt I couldn’t phone the home up and
ask how things was going with my dad because he could be angry, but a proud man when it comes to someone else looking after him. Sometimes I needed advice too from the home and they would always help me out. All the staff was fantastic and gave my dad a very great service.

My father recently spent several weeks in Brooklands, having been admitted for emergency respite care following a heart attack and subsequent complications. The staff couldn't do enough for him, and he was treated with the utmost kindness and respect throughout his stay there. I live in the south of
England and was unable to visit Dad due to Covid restrictions, but I was able to regularly FaceTime and speak to him on the phone, and received a daily report on his progress, to put my mind at rest. Thank you, on behalf of the whole family, to all of the staff for taking such good care of him.
As I've never actually visited Brooklands, I feel unable to comment on overall standards of cleanliness, value for money, facilities etc so have only rated them as Good, but I would rate the care and support as Excellent.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.773)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.773) out of 10 for Brooklands Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.898 for Brooklands Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (160 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.898
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brooklands Care Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
