We cannot thank Rosedale staff enough for the exceptional care they provided for my father. From the care teams, catering staff, events and facilities support. They have all be superb!
The fondness that all staff showed my father has truly touched the hearts of his family.

Rosedale is truly a special place and the residents are very lucky to have these wonderful staff taking care of them.

My wife was admitted to Rosedale Nursing Home from hospital. I have been very impressed by the support and help provided during these trying days.

All of my family and my wives have commented on the care given as being of the highest standards. We are pleased with the choice we made to have my wife looked after so well. The support provided to me and my children was excellent.

The kindness and care shown to my mother by all staff was excellent. The cleanliness of the home and my mother was outstanding. I was always greeted with smiles and warmth by the staff whenever I visited.
At the end of her life, she was treated with the upmost dignity and compassion.

I would highly recommend Rosedale to anyone who is looking for a home for a loved one.

I have found the care provided for my father in law to be of a very high standard. The manager has been a Godsend in helping us navigate our way through the care system and her kind and friendly manner means she is very approachable. Another lady has been so very much hands on and a great help in so many areas of my father in laws care. The level of care from the clinical lead is outstanding and the care shown to my father in law is second to none.

I have spend three respite times in Rosedale and each time I have been very comfortable. I found the staff and carers friendly, smiling and very helpful and patient and always checking to see if I was alright. The food was very good with choices. All in all very good.

Mum was made very welcome and comfortable during her stay. The care staff and nursing staff were amazing. Always maintaining dignity and promoting choice. Throughout her stay, mum could be difficult however staff always remained patient and understanding. Everyone involved ensured that mum's end of life was comfortable and dignified, in particular the manager and nursing staff who worked very hard to ensure the medical care was in place and appropriate. Thank you. x

Received ample admission information and admission was very smooth and painless. I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. Good communication with management and I was kept up to date with regards to the admission procedure.

As my mother has only just arrived, I am unable to judge anything else. There are a few teething problems but hopefully this will be resolved in time.

I cannot rate this home highly enough. They have been so supportive from the first day visiting through all the transition and then with difficult times. All the staff go above and beyond not just for the residents but for families. The home is so clean and food is lovely. Always activities for families to join in such as mothers day and fathers day which is so important.

Residents are always so well presented and clean. The home has a lovely 'home' feeling and couldnt ask for a better care environment for our family member. Thank you to everyone at this home!!!!

My mum has been in Rosedale since April. She was moved from a care home in Darlington where she was very unhappy. She is now much happier and settled. The staff are all lovely and kind and take great care of my mum. They are very understanding and compassionate and nothing is too much for them. She is treated with dignity and respect. The rooms are lovely and clean and the food is very good. They also provide snacks if requested. Hairdressing and chiropodist services are also available.
They have a great variety of entertainment but my mum doesn't mix very much but with encouragement from the carers she will sometimes go down and join in which she really enjoys.

I would highly recommend this care home if you are looking for somewhere for your loved ones.

Overall Experience

Rosedale has 2 parts - the Nursing Home section, for more dependent patients, which is in the old vicarage building, and the Residential section for more independent residents which is in 'The Lodge', a modern, separate, purpose-built building in the grounds. My Mum was in the Lodge, and the review is about that residential building, not the Nursing Home. After visiting several residential homes in the area, my Mum then aged 92, immediately loved Rosedale Lodge as it felt like a modern hotel. Mum was as sharp as a razor mentally and had nothing but praise for the staff in the Lodge. After nearly a year of superb care, my Mum had a cardiac event, and we then saw how the staff managed her terminal care - which was wonderful. The end of life plan they had drawn up with her previously was followed through to the letter. She died peacefully, pain free, and with great dignity with her family around her in her room - just what she wanted. The staff were amazing and very supportive.

The nursing home is an old building and difficult to navigate with a wheelchair. The rooms are tiny and have very limited storage and Dad has had a broken window since he arrived in April. However, the care is excellent, everyone treats Dad gently and looks after him, meeting all of his needs both medically and personally. All staff are kind and approachable. It is so reassuring to know Dad is really well cared for by such an excellent team.

I'm so glad we have moved our mum out of here. We believed it to be the best in the area, unfortunately so wrong. My mum wasn't ever happy but that was down to me spoiling her apparently. She is now dressed and doing activities every day, and even thrown her comfort blue dressing gown away, my mum is a new lady now.

This care home is very friendly. The staff try to help the residents settle in and find peace in a strange environment. They listen to any concerns and try to resolve and care for personal/medical issues that arise. Activities are wonderful. Mum is settling into the care home well. We are very pleased to have chosen this care home. Some training needs for younger/new staff on how to communicate with the elderly/poorly!
