My mother has been a resident in Fred Crosland, Connaught Court (dementia care) for nearly 4 years. The staff have remained constant and through their care and compassion my mother has been settled, happy and less anxious.

Great care is taken to meet the needs of residents and engage them to maintain their physical, professional and social independence within the limitations of their abilities.

Visitors are welcome 24/7 and staff are always happy and open in their approach.

I came here from Harrogate some 3 and a half years ago, which is the nearest Masonic home, having had poor news from my doctors, and as you can see from my ticks I am well satisfied, in fact I give talks when I attend a Lodge on the virtues of Connaught Court likening it to living in a 5 star hotel which usually ends up with a collection of over a £100 donated to friends of Connaught Court.

My husband has been a resident of Connaught Court for three and a half years due to his very severe Alzheimer's Disease. I am extremely happy with his level of care. His condition has deteriorated to such that he needs 24hr specialist care, and that is very well provided by his carers.

My stay has been complicated by the need to move from basement to a temporary stay until the basement is upgraded.

Despite this unusual move, I am very well cared for whenever I am in the building by caring staff and beautiful surroundings.

Connaught Court is exceptionally pleasant, like a five-star hotel. The staff are kind and respectful. The beautiful grounds and summer house are accessible and well kept. Many rooms have showers.

The activity coordinators ensure there are plenty of entertainments, concerts, talks, quizzes and exercise classes and poetry readings, all published in a printed leaflet each month.

It is a pleasure to walk into Connaught Court. The home has a warm atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and caring. There is a wide range of activities and the organisers take into consideration what the residents like to do. One can vary where to sit; in the conservatory, in areas off the corridors, in the lounge, library and garden. It is reassuring to know that my friend is in good hands.

Connaught Court is very welcoming and is tastefully decorated, all areas are fit for purpose and look very comfortable. The staff are attentive, kind and very approachable. They treat my mum with dignity and respect and consult very well with family members, including them in mum's plan of care. The staff treat mum with kindness at all times. The reception staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
