Our care fees for self-funded and local authority funded residents are subject to a preadmission needs assessment which is a requirement of admission, so the Home can fully understand the level of care and support required by each individual. Respite care may be offered and is usually 10% above the permanent care fees, subject to availability and will depend on an assessment of a person’s care needs. I came here from Harrogate some 3 and a half years ago, which is the nearest Masonic home, having had poor news from my doctors, and as you can see from my ticks I am well satisfied, in fact I give talks when I attend a Lodge on the virtues of Connaught Court likening it to living in a 5 star hotel
which usually ends up with a collection of over a £100 donated to friends of Connaught Court.

My husband has been a resident of Connaught Court for three and a half years due to his very severe Alzheimer's Disease. I am extremely happy with his level of care. His condition has deteriorated to such that he needs 24hr specialist care, and that is very well provided by his carers.

My stay has been complicated by the need to move from basement to a temporary stay until the basement is upgraded.
Despite this unusual move, I am very well cared for whenever I am in the building by caring staff and beautiful surroundings.

Connaught Court is exceptionally pleasant, like a five-star hotel. The staff are kind and respectful. The beautiful grounds and summer house are accessible and well kept. Many rooms have showers.
The activity coordinators ensure there are plenty of entertainments, concerts, talks, quizzes and exercise
classes and poetry readings, all published in a printed leaflet each month.

It is a pleasure to walk into Connaught Court. The home has a warm atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and caring. There is a wide range of activities and the organisers take into consideration what the residents like to do. One can vary where to sit; in the conservatory, in areas off the corridors,
in the lounge, library and garden. It is reassuring to know that my friend is in good hands.

Connaught Court is very welcoming and is tastefully decorated, all areas are fit for purpose and look very comfortable. The staff are attentive, kind and very approachable. They treat my mum with dignity and respect and consult very well with family members, including them in mum's plan of care. The
staff treat mum with kindness at all times. The reception staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Mum moved into the dementia wing at Connaught Court and her care has been really good. The staff soon got to know her likes and dislikes and strengths and weaknesses. The staff are always willing to go the extra mile. Her care when in the residential wing was average as mum did not get the support she
needed. Not a criticism more a build for others at this early dementia stage as more help is needed.

We visit our friend regularly. The care provided is excellent our friend has settled and joins in the many activities. We usually stay to lunch well-presented food and a warm welcoming dining room. All areas are so warm and welcoming. There are facilities for coffee and biscuits, the staff are so welcoming
and remember our names. We have been a visitor for 18 months it is a care home we would choose if we could afford it.

Marinda Aydinalp

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2014

Marinda Aydinalp joined Connaught Court as Deputy Home Manager in June 2014. In February 2022, she was promoted to Home Manager.


Marinda demonstrates clear vision, passion and dedication for the residents in her care. She played a significant part in Connaught Court being rated ‘Outstanding’ by CQC in 2023.


Marinda leads a highly experienced and dedicated team. She inspires them by being a role model in both her leadership and her passion for delivering the best care for residents.


Marinda has achieved the Dementia Care Mapping qualification whilst also pursuing an NVQ Level 5 Apprenticeship Programme. This demonstrates her commitment to continuously expanding her knowledge, enabling her to provide exceptional dementia care.


Marinda has created a Namaste Room, which allows residents living with dementia to enjoy a relaxing environment. The room has sensory equipment, including tactile walls, fibre optic lights, a star projector and bubble tubes, which support residents’ mental health and well-being.
