Excellent care and residential. Living in serene settings and an easy stroll to the GP surgery, pharmacies and convenience shopping. Staff and residents are friendly, supportive and outgoing.

Lovely care home, so pleased mum is here.

She has been here for over 2 years. She is able to maintain her independence in a dignified manner and the staff are always on hand to give her caring support. Her room is very comfortable with things from our family home. They have activities on which she is able to join in with but there is no pressure if she wants a quiet time. Yes, I am very impressed and think it's a lovely place for mum to live.

My mother in law moved into Connaught Court in March and we could not be happier with the care and attention she has received. She is almost 100 years old and has settled in so well to her new surroundings.

She joins in with activities and thoroughly enjoys the company of the other residents. As a family, we are so happy to know that she is safe and well cared for.

Friendly staff - but not enough of them. More direct/personal care required to encourage residents to participate in events. Excellent facilities and activities - well managed and varied.

Connaught Court is very simply the best of its type. Having elderly infirm relatives in both Scotland and Yorkshire we've looked at countless of homes for our family.

Walking into Connaught Court the first time was such a pleasant surprise. After visits to dark, smelly places with chairs around the walls and board residents. Well done!

My room is too small. Staff are very helpful.

Reply from Victoria Wilson, Home Manager at Connaught Court

At the RMBI we provide person centred care to all our residents, accommodating their personal wishes as much as possible. Our rooms all have a standard size, that allows residents to have personal space and also to add their own furniture if they wish to do so. If you have any particular concerns, please speak to the Home Management.

Overall Experience

My relative has been a resident in the Knavesmire Unit for 10 months. Throughout that period we have found the standard of care very high. The staff are professional and efficient and he wants for nothing. They work particularly hard to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, in which they succeed and go about their jobs in an open and good-humoured way. We are also pleased with the regularity of entertainment laid on for the residents and the surroundings are pleasant and as homely as possible. Our one niggle was the poor handling of our (initial) application process which could have been done with greater care and consideration.

My grandad has said he has not regretted his move to Connaught Court for a second. He likens it to a 5-star hotel and knowing that my grandad has stayed in hotels all over the world, I know this means he is extremely happy. I feel the staff go the extra mile, are always smiling and treat him with repect and wonderful friendliness. Thank you.
