Very caring staff. Very clean rooms and large public rooms. Lots of different activities. Everyone smiles and communicates with residents who feel respected and cared for.

First class service throughout for my step dad.

Any concerns raised are dealt with promptly and well with the responsive management. It is a pleasure to visit.

I recently joined my wife here where she had been a resident since last April. She needs much more attention than myself but I am pleased that a place in the main area of the home has allowed me to help my wife's condition stabilise. I have settled in the main part of the home and enjoying its food and activities - instead of trying to cope "on my own". Both of us try to get out into the grounds as much as possible - they are very good.

Following Mum's move into Connaught Court, she has settled in very easily. She is well looked after by the care staff dealing with her medical needs. She is well fed with a good choice of menu. The overall home is light and airy with a variable activity list. Overall, a very good home and a credit to the management and staff.

I was well looked after during my stay on my short two weeks respite.

I have very few reasons to complain about the care here. Before coming to Connaught Court I had a short time in another care home in York. It was nothing like as comfortable as Connaught Court in every way, and it was more expensive!

My room is more than adequate. I have a nice view from my window of open parkland and mature trees. Reception is handled by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food is good and the menu repeats over a three week period. I particularly enjoy breakfast. The staff on Knavesmire are friendly and sympathetic. I am concerned that another resident often enters my room without my permission.

I enjoy the entertainment and am prepared to join in. Most participants like to help out when asked. In-house activity usually arranged with many residents participating.

The staff are always kind and thoughtful towards my partner and me. This is our prime concern. Good to know he is always in safe hands.

My only negative is (and its not very often) that I see more staff in the office than on 'the floor'

There are frequent events and exercises for residents with a wide-ranging and full events programme. Food is good with flexibility to have it in one of two dining rooms or in private rooms.

Receptionist was very helpful and professional.

Since my mother moved into Connaught Court her life has improved. The staff are excellent, my mother moved from another dementia home which was horrible. Now she's in Connaught Court both her and her family are much happier knowing she has the best on offer.

Personal care good and responsive. Choice of activities acceptable - main problem is remember what's on - maybe a better way of reminding the residents what's happening that day. Car parking for visitors very poor.

Visiting my friend. Unfortunately he spends a lot of time resting in bed. If he was more stimulated to be involved as he was always a very active person. Otherwise the home is well run, very efficiently and well mannered staff. Lovely warm, clean and very homely.

My mother has dementia and beyond any care that I could give, I am also impressed by the loving nature of the care she receives here. It is efficient and people really care for the elderly confused people.

From observations only I consider Connaught Court to be a perfect place to live and to have a comfortable, cared for life. I have made enquiries and intend to place my name on the waiting list.

Has deteriorated in recent years due to staff shortages and certain building preparations being carried out. Residents communications re these subjects are poor and cause confusions as to what is happening.
