Well done to all the staff. My mother became well enough to return home.
Thank you.
Thank you, for your wonderful feedback about our home. We are pleased to hear that your experience has been positive and appreciate all of your kind comments about our team. We are thrilled to hear how well you Mother settled in, and that she is now well enough to return home. Have a wonderful day.
This was a difficult time for my dad and my family as my dad never wanted to move into a care home but things got that difficult, we really had no option. My dad was very reluctant to even walk inside the door but the care and empathy of the staff on unit 4 was outstanding. They made my dad much more relaxed and within a few days, my dad was starting to settle. Over the last 7 months, my dad is now very settled, happy and safe, which is all we as a family want for him. He's made some lovely friends and now doesn't feel frightened about things. The staff on unit 4 have been outstanding with my dad and my family. They show my dad care, dignity, understanding, empathy and friendship. A wonderful bunch of people who have made this my dad's home.

All the staff were very affectionate and respectful when it came to my grandma's care. She was cared for to a very high standard and couldn’t thank or recommend this care home enough. Went above and beyond. Very grateful for the support and guidance I received throughout. Thanks to all the staff for everything.

Our mam has been in residence since January 2019. We have found all the staff the care home of the highest standard. Mam is very happy there and says they look after her and nothing is too much trouble.

Dad has now been a resident for over a year. I cannot fault the care he receives. He has early stage dementia and is completely deaf. The staff are wonderful with him. He loves going out and today he went out for a fish and chip lunch. His favourite. Many thanks to all the staff.

The measure of how high the standard of care is is how my mother relates to where she is living. Against all our expectations she has settled remarkably well and has clearly become comfortable with routines and the level of care she receives. She is treated with respect and kindness by staff and she feels safe and secure. She always looks clean, tidy and well dressed and attention is paid to her hair and nails. She is encouraged to eat and drink with kindness and any problems with her taking her medication are addressed appropriately. Family members are also made welcome at any time and there is a trusting relationship between staff and family. Staff have made real efforts to understand her type of dementia and how it manifests itself. We feel confident and relieved that she is being taken care of with such professionalism.

I am very disappointed with the caregiving in this home. Since the last manager left, the home is gone from good to very bad. Nutritional needs are not met as residents are not getting help eating and drinking. Personal hygiene needs are not meet too as understaffed. No activities are being offered and no supervision in the lounges which is leading to a lot of falls. Staff are not filling out daily recording forms which means no communications between the staff. Staff is also always changing. Nobody knows the need of the resident. Social Workers are involved in this case.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your views. All of the staff are committed to providing the best possible care experience for all of our residents and we are disappointed to hear that you feel this has not happened in your case. We appreciate all of your...
The care is of a very poor standard, there is never enough staff to meet the residents' needs and the unit my mother is on seems to run on agency staff who don't know the residents and don't care. There are some very caring carers but they are understaffed for the type of residents whose personal hygiene and nutritional needs are not met either due to lack of training, lack of time or just poor supervision.
Thank you, simply isn't enough.
The staff at Howdon Care Centre are very helpful and try to gave your requests for assistance utmost urgency. They are almost always cheerful and are always clean and tidy. Visitors can come any time of the day within reason and are made to feel very welcome and are encouraged to stay as long as they wish. Residents are allowed to bring items from home ie pictures, photos to help him settle in.
My father has been looked after in the past 6 weeks in this home and couldn't have had better care anywhere else. he was treated with dignity and always clean, with very good care, staff all friendly and even treated all of our family with empathy at a very sad time, they were absolutely fab. Thank you.
Myself and my brothers and sisters could not fault the home. The nurses, carers, domestic, kitchen, activity and office staff were always pleasant and helpful and we owe them a great deal.
