Barchester Harton Grange Care Home is excellent. A warm welcome always from all staff/manager. All staff are approachable with any queries the family may have. My father has only been here a short while. His Alziehmers is in the late stages now but he has settled in well. His previous care home was horrendous. At Harton Grange, they have activities on always throughout the week/weeks. Dad is reluctant sometimes to be washed and dressed but staff have already recognised when he is fully awake he's fine. So very happy that Dad is being cared for here, stress-free.

My review of Harton Grange is that the staff and management are fabulous. They listen, they care and go beyond the call of duty. I feel safe that my father is cared for, he is well, has wonderful meals and is entertained. The day trips have been amazing and Dad was recalling (in his own way) how fantastic the museum day trip was, he loved it, loved the bus ride and enjoys the company. We as a family are very day surprised at the effort put in by staff, it's 5 stars. Very, very happy.

After over sixty years of married life together I was dreading being apart from my husband. Harton Grange was recommended to me by a friend who had a family member at Harton Grange. I am absolutely delighted with the level of service by all the staff, the management, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff and maintenance team are so helpful and attentive to all the residents. It gives me great comfort knowing that my husband is in good hands and so well looked after.

After living by himself for a number of years, my father asked to move into care. Since moving into Barchester Harton Grange Care Home, his overall well-being has improved tremendously. He feels sage and secure and has started to interact with others. The care home is spotless, well-lit and lovely and warm. The staff are outstanding, nothing is too much trouble and they are excellent with the residents. It is a huge relief to know he is safe, happy and contented.

My mam has been a resident at your wonderful home since 2017 and I could not be happier. All the staff are amazing and welcoming with a smile for both residents and visitors. The food is excellent, especially Friday fish and chips. The areas and rooms are always clean and tidy with well-equipped furniture. I visited many homes prior to yours and Barchester Harton Grange Care Home was the outstanding choice, this was backed up recently by my mam's social worker. Well done.

I cannot praise the staff enough for the care given to my mother. From the catering staff, laundry team, carers, entertainment team and senior managers, my mother is treated with immense respect, dignity and mostly love. She has made new friends and has a new outlook on life, which at 93 years old is so lovely to see. I cannot speak highly enough of this amazing facility and the people who work there. Thank you.

Meet the Team (10)

Hi, my name is Judith, and I am General Manager here at Harton Grange.
I have worked in the care industry since 2000. I have an NVQ Level 4 in Leadership & Management and a Level 3 in End of Life Care. I am kind and compassionate, and I focus on providing a safe, warm and caring environment for everyone I support.
I have extensive experience in building positive relationships and embedding the key principles of care in those I work alongside.

My name is Joy, and I have worked at Harton Grange as a head chef for the past 14 years. During my time here, I have worked on the VIP openings of Barchester's new build. I am also the Senior Head Chef trainer for the North and Scottish divisions, running the chef academy where we run workshops to train and enhance the skills of other Barchester chefs. I have just been given one of the positions of senior head chef, which will support ten other head chefs in my region when needed and help the hospitality manager after their visits to these homes. I have always been very passionate about my job here, preparing and cooking good nutritious meals for our residents and showcasing our wonderful hospitality to all visitors who come into our home. I have a great catering team and try to lead them to the best of my ability and to have the same passion as myself. I get involved and organise theme days within the home, also fundraising throughout the year for our residents' funds.
My family can see how much I enjoy my job and often ask when I am going to retire; my answer is always “I am not ready to hang up my chef hat as I have yet more to give”

What my team think of me – Trisha and Michelle. I am approachable and friendly, always on hand to help with our residents. I enjoy a laugh and joke and making people smile while on shift.

Hi, my name is Beverley. I am the Deputy Manager here at Harton Grange. I started with Harton Grange in 2005, starting as a care assistant and then doing my NVQ in Health and Social Care to become a senior carer, where I gained the knowledge of administering medication to the Residents. I worked closely beside the General Manager at the time, and I wanted to progress my career and did my training to become a deputy Manager. I became the Deputy Manager in 2012, and I really love my job. I work alongside the current General Manager, dealing with home audits and working with the staff as well as day-to-day running of the home. Barchester is a very rewarding company.
I have worked alongside the current general manager for the past 4 years, and I have learnt how to put systems in place and to gain more knowledge on audits and to tighten systems. We work really well together, and I look up to Judith; she is a great mentor.

Hi, my name is Clare, and I am the home administrator here at Harton Grange.
I have worked for Barchester for 7 years and, in my role, I deal with all aspects of the administration of the home to ensure it runs smoothly, from invoicing, ordering, recruitment, setting up contracts, to manning the telephones, also working alongside my manager to ensure all jobs are completed in a timely manner. Harton Grange is more than my place of work; it is my second home and family.

Hi, my name is Matthew. I am the Activities Coordinator at Harton Grange. I have worked in care for over 6 years.
I started working in care part-time in 2019 while studying at university. When I graduated in 2024, I decided that I would like to work full-time at Harton Grange. I love working in care and ensuring the lives of the residents at Harton Grange are enriched and filled with fun and joy is my main aim. My role at Harton Grange is to provide life enrichment to the 62 residents who live here and to ensure they live life to the fullest. I see Harton Grange as a second home and have loved and continue to love my time here.

Hello, my name is Mark and I have just started the role of Head of Maintenance here at Harton Grange. I have worked in the care sector for many years.
My role consists of daily checks and ensuring Harton Grange is safe. I also love the variety that the role brings, from changing a plug to painting a lovely room here in the home. I love chatting with the residents when I do my daily checks. In my spare time, I love spending time on my allotment and watching the football.

HI, my name is Rhondda, and I am a senior carer at Harton Grange. I have worked in the care sector for over 30 years, and I absolutely love what I do. I have worked at Harton Grange for the last 9 years; I did leave briefly but came back! I have my NVQ level 3 in health and social care, and I really find my job rewarding and looking after those who need more help. I love working with my team, and I feel I am a good leader.
A Relative of a resident, Dave and Val said that I am one of the nicest people they have met, very professional and if I have any questions or concerns, Rhondda is always there to put our minds at rest.
A staff member – Natalie says, Rhondda is a very approachable senior and if unsure about the task at hand. She likes the floor she is working on to run to the best of her ability. Rhondda will help no matter what and where help is needed. Shauna Dixon has said – I have worked with Rhondda since I first started at Harton Grange, 7 years ago; she was my mentor. I have always found her to be helpful, and she always likes to see the residents and staff happy. She always checks to make sure the staff are alright.

Hello, my name is Hazel, and I am the head housekeeper at Harton Grange. I have worked here for 6 years. I love my job! No two days are the same. I love nothing more than a nice, clean home for all of our residents, families and colleagues.
I am also a trained Care Assistant to help when needed on a day shift or night shift. I would highly recommend Barchester to anyone wanting to work in the care sector.

My name is Lynda, and I am a senior carer at Harton Grange care home. I have worked here since 2006. I always work to the best of my ability and tend to get along with all my colleagues. I find my job very rewarding. Helping those who need more support and knowing I have helped them is very rewarding.
A relative said that I am kind and have compassion for all the residents, and I am always on hand to help others.
