I always felt my mam was safe and content in Falstone Manor. The care and attention received was brilliant. All the staff and management were friendly and pleasant. My mam passed away 22/09/23 and the care she received was second to none. Can't thank them enough for that and the respect and dignity shown was brilliant. Thank you so much.

Mum has been in Falstone approx six years now. Overall she is in really good hands and given the love/care she deserves. The home is always really clean, which is a credit to the cleaning staff. It’s not always easy keeping Mum looking her best due to the agitation she has, but the girls do a great job and are often scratched/screamed at by her. I have, over the years, bought many clothes for Mum, of which some have gone missing or other residents are wearing (despite labels) - would love to see a better way of handling laundry so clothes go back to the right person.
Sometimes I feel not enough staff on duty but understand this is down to funding and patient numbers.
Carers do not get paid enough for what they are expected to do, but the girls are always friendly and accommodating.
Mum doesn’t engage in activities anymore, but in the early years, there was some really good entertainment which she loved.

Overall had some bumps over the years, but in the main truly believe Mum is in good hands. Thank you.

I have lived at Falstone Manor for eight years, my bedroom has a lovely sea view and very impressed. It has gone through a major refurbishment, to help improve the lives of its residents and working conditions for its staff, investing significant sums of money into providing modern, state-of-the-art facilities including open plan dining areas, hairdressing room, wooden floors throughout and more. The staff are excellent, the new management is superb, and I am extremely happy. The administrator is always very helpful with anything I need. Falstone Manor Care Home is always kept clean and tidy.

Mam was discharged into Falstone Manor Care Home from hospital after pneumonia. She was severely depressed and still very unwell on arrival into their care. The team have worked tirelessly to make Mam feel safe and secure, she has been encouraged to eat and wash and has gone from not wanting to leave her room to making friends and thriving in the environment. Her room/bathroom and the home itself are always immaculate, her clothes are washed and returned promptly, she has been on a trip to the stadium and enjoyed online yoga and the other activities offered. I was really worried about Mam going into care and can honestly say the staff have been amazing and extremely kind, keeping the family up to date on her progress. Needless to say, Mam has decided she wants to stay there permanently, we spent weeks looking at different care homes and visits and can safely say we feel we have made the right choice for her, she is thoroughly enjoying her sea view on the top floor.

Overall Experience
Very poor care. Lack of hygiene and cleanliness towards an elderly lady with dementia.
Evident resident is not being showered regularly, nor being assisted to maintain hygiene with even a basin wash at the chairside.
Breath is foul smelling as no oral hygiene is promoted.
Relative is always soiled, clothing soiled, soiled clothes lying around the room.
Leg dressings are always stained, soaked and substandard application, resulting in tourniquet affect around calves and feet. Ooze from legs wounds repeatedly soaked through dressings, trousers and draining onto slippers and fabric covered footstool. The floor in front of chair is always sticky with oedematous ooze.

The floor appears rarely swept/ hoovered or washed.

Unable to speak to the one nurse who is supposedly on duty, the last 3 times we have visited have asked support workers who cannot answer our queries or provide any information regarding the supposed individual care plan for our relative.

Very very unsatisfactory and distressing.

Overall, I am very happy with the end of life care my mother received. The home is very clean and warm with good facilities and I feel confident my mother was safe and well cared for in her final weeks. The number of staff on duty could at times be improved, but all the nurses and carers were very kind and supportive.

In the last four years, when my father lived at Falstone Manor Care Home, he was given the most outstanding care throughout his time there, especially during his end-of-life care. I could not fault the home or the staff. I would like to thank each and every member of the staff who gave me their utmost kindness and care for my father. I would also like to thank the care manager and general manager for going above and beyond at m difficult time.

My sister has been in the care home for a number of years and during that period we have had our ups and downs, especially with the lack of staff and lack of entertainment, but at present staff have been really caring and kind to both my sister and myself. I have also seen improvement in the entertainment which has been lovely to see.

My mother went to live at Falstone Manor in January 2018. At all times she was treated with dignity and so much care surrounded her. Her reason for going to live there was she had a stroke in December 2017 and therefore needed 24-hour care thereafter. The staff looked after Mam so well and made sure her wishes and family's wishes were met at trying to keep her out of hospital. Even at the end of her life Mam was well looked after and passed away peacefully in her own bed as per her wishes.

Moving Mum to Falstone was made easy by the wonderful supportive staff, in a very difficult year due to covid. Falstone ensured Mum was extremely well looked after and kept safe. Hopefully activities, outings and visits will be available after vaccinations.

My Mam entered Falstone Manor on 6th March, the lockdown commenced 12th which was worrying as being a constant presence with her we were concerned about her mental/emotional state.
We are without doubt, grateful for the pro-active approach that was adopted to try and prevent Covid entering the home and ultimately keeping mam safe, this has been and continues to be a challenge for everyone.
We would appreciate our heartfelt thanks and appreciation being passed on to everyone who cares for my mam as they continue to give her the care and attention she needs in such difficult times, also the understanding shown when we ring to speak to mam.
We as a family look forward to the day when this dreadful disease is eradicated and we can visit regularly, as I can see her starting to struggle emotionally and the basic human need to have a hug from her loving family and friends.

I would again like to thank everyone involved in Mam's care and wish them all the very best as where would we be without them.

My father moved into Falstone Manor in January 2020. Since then, his health and mental well being have improved significantly. The care he receives is consistently outstanding. All staff are exceptionally caring and I can't thank them enough for all they do for my father at all times, but especially for keeping him safe and well during the pandemic.
