Ayresome Court Nursing Home is located on the outskirts of the picturesque, historic market town of Yarm. It is just a short drive from the North York Moors National Park and has good road, bus and rail links, making it easily accessible.

The home offers nursing, residential and respite care in a purpose-built setting, with a caring environment where every resident is seen as an individual. Residents are fully involved in the planning of their care, with their dignity, privacy, choice and independence always respected and promoted.

Residents’ wellbeing is extremely important at Ayresome Court and they are encouraged to participate in physically and mentally stimulating activities, such as walking, cycling, chess, arts and crafts, and therapy sessions. There are also wheelchair-friendly gardens where residents can relax in a peaceful environment.

The home has strong relationships with the library, schools and churches in the local community, and they work closely with health centres, dental surgeries and pharmacies to ensure the care delivered is always of the highest quality.

Their hard work and dedication has been rewarded in the form of Ayresome Court being recognised as a top 20 Recommended Care Home North East England for 2015 and 2016 on carehome.co.uk. They have also won the Akari garden competition for beautiful exteriors.

Following the death of my father, I brought my mother from Somerset to Ayresome Court as she could not remain at home alone. I was impressed by the friendly welcome we received, and continued to be impressed by the care and attention my mother received, an increasingly difficult task as my mother's
health declined. After she sadly passed away, I was grateful for all the help and kindness from all the staff. They were all brilliant. Many thanks.

On the whole, I was very well treated at his care home. In fact, apart from one carer I was extremely well looked after and would offer the home my full support. It so happens that this one individual who was somewhat offhand in manner had not had a dose of vaccine although offered it in/by the home
when I was speaking to her. I believe that with all carers this should be mandatory.

A very good care home with friendly, caring staff who during the pandemic have provided the love and attention which sadly we have been unable to give personally. They have protected our loved ones and minimised any covid effects whilst still providing contact via video calls. I would not hesitate to
recommend this nursing home both for the care of a loved one and also for the peace of mind that it gives to a family in making the decision for care.

My father has been a resident now for 4 months. It has been, as is often the case, a tricky settling in period which the staff have shown exceptional patience and a very professional, caring attitude towards him. This has made the transition as smooth as possible. They continue to seek ways to stimulate
his interest and to make his stay as comfortable as possible. All along the way they have kept family regularly advised of any issues.

My father was first admitted for respite. He settled in straight away. Unfortunately, he was then diagnosed with terminal cancer, so he then went on to palliative care. I can't speak highly enough of all the staff who were involved with Dad, from cleaners to nurses.
He was treated with great care and
respect by all.

Although my aunt was only in the home for 1 week before she died, the care she received was exemplary. They created a friendly, homely, safe and caring environment so she was happy, content and supported.
She had a pain free, calm and dignified death, thanks to the wonderful, organised and professional
staff. This care continued after her death in the kindness and support shown to us, her family.

Room only concern, otherwise perfect. TV - US. The mattress was very very very uncomfortable. Handyman off sick, very very very missed. Must be replaced, otherwise small jobs built up. Girls do very good keeping the place going. Nothing too much trouble.

Staff extremely approachable and friendly. Sometimes communication not so good when regarding the health of resident i.e. getting to see the doctor. The food seems wholesome and healthy and my Father in Law obviously likes it! The room is kept extremely clean and in good repair. Any problems with maintenance
sorted very quickly. Staff communicate problems with the family regarding residents i.e. when a fall occurs and very diligent following these occasions.

My Mother in Law is completely happy and content at Ayresome Court. She thoroughly appreciated the banter with staff when they see her in her room. She doesn't often want to take part in activities but enjoys those she does take part in. She is most definitely treated with dignity and it is obvious
that many of the staff are very fond of her.

What a wonderful home. Staff are always cheerful and ready to assist whenever needed. As for the dining room, it is as welcoming as any restaurant I've been to and the food is as good. I do think £1.50 for visitors is far too cheap and it is so nice to be able to come and have a meal with mum.

The nursing home have made my husband and I very welcomed for just over 3 months. We have moved from Wales to England which has been a challenge. Everyone has been accommodating. Always service with a smile.
The service is excellent. It is extremely difficult to find anything I am concerned about but
I am happy to say it is impossible. I would be happy to have him come for respite. We have made friends and will miss them.
