Highfield Care Home, located in the historic town of Yarm, provides personalised residential and residential dementia care to older people.

The comfortable home has plenty of well designed areas for residents to relax, socialise and unwind. The garden, hobby room and patio area make great places for residents to pursue hobbies and interests as well as spend time with their loved ones.

Highfield boasts a selection of specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents, or family and friends. The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable and heart-warming experience for every resident and visitor to the home.

My mam has lived at Highfield for three years, she has lived happily there for all this time.
The staff are like family to her and they are friendly and caring nothing is too much trouble for them. Mam is always informed of the activities she goes on outings. The food is great and we always get asked
if we would like a meal. Well done to all the staff.

The staff team are nothing less than exceptional. They constantly display a high empathy with residents and visitors alike. They truly care about the health, safety and wellbeing of residents. The carehome has the benefit of a simple layout which, very importantly is all on one level.
The amount
of activities supplied are at the correct level and I feel confident that any issues would be brought to our attention. Some of the rooms have been modernised in an ongoing programme.
Overall we find the home clean, safe and very well run.

The activities coordinator has really befriended Mum since she came to Highfield Care Home. She has been instrumental in helping Mum settle! She is always upbeat.

Mum has been a resident at Highfield for 7 months now and has settled in very well. Despite in the past always saying that she never wanted to go into a home, she admits now that she likes where she lives and knows she is much better off here. She likes the company and the feeling of being safe. The
staff ensure this atmosphere of care and safety - they are all friendly, tolerant and caring, ensuring that mum gets the best of care. The home is run efficiently and the manager and senior carers are always on hand to discuss any problems that may arise. I have found them professional, proactive and organised.

I am visiting from N.Z. My mother has been in Highfield Care Home for a year. The staff are marvellous. I am spending 2-3 hours a day at the home with my father. I have not seen any inappropriate care. Everyone is great with the residents. I have never heard a raised voice or harsh word. All the residents
are treated with respect and where possible, like normal people. They have plenty of activities and fun e.g. bingo, hoopla, and raffles.

I couldn't fault Highfield. The staff look after me very well. I only have to mention something and they deal with it. They are there for you all the time. Everything is very clean and I have really enjoyed the food. The best thing is the friendliness of the staff they make everything feel right.
