This purpose-built care home provides nursing and social care for the frail elderly and the mentally infirm elderly.

Accommodation at Abigail Lodge is offered in single occupancy rooms, all of which have en-suite facilities.

Abigail Lodge features TV lounges and a quiet sitting room for relaxation. There are dining rooms available, where residents can socialise with others at meal times. Traditional home cooking using fresh produce is served and residents can choose from the daily choices available. Special diets can be catered for.

Anyone who has experience of a loved one going through dementia will know how heartbreaking it is to see them suffer. We had decided to care for our Mam at home but sadly it was too much for her and my Dad. Reluctantly we had to put her into care. She has been in Abigail Lodge Care Home now for nearly
two months and we can't fault it. The staff are lovely and caring and the place is calm and peaceful. Covid-19 restrictions are in place and visitors are tested constantly. Most of all though is how content my Mam is. She is happy there and is actually looking better and if she's happy, we're happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Abigail Lodge Care Home.

A kind, caring, well run home where everyone is treated with dignity. Mam has settled really well into the care home and this is because of the care of the staff and understanding of Mam's needs. I have also appreciated the support from the staff during this time, as finding and moving Mam into a care
home is stressful at the best of times, even worse in a pandemic. Mam says how kind everyone is. This is so important. She also likes the activities.

Due to COVID-19 over the past year and my relative only came in during the virus so I have only had very limited experience of the home to date, but have found all the staff friendly, informative, helpful and positive. Looking forward to home life at Abigail to getting back to normal for everyone.

When I first visited Abigail Lodge Care Home about three years ago, I was struck by the ambience of the place. This has continued and I'm sure resulting from this the residents and their carers are happy and contented. My husband has continued to receive wonderful care from everyone.

I am notified of my stepdad's health. There is a Facebook page with photos and activities. I feel reassured that although I have not seen my stepdad due to home restrictions and also my family having covid, I feel I can approach staff at any time and each phone call is well received. Thank you from

I have nothing but praise for this home, my husband is very happy there. The staff are spot on when I phone to see how he is. They are always ready to tell me what's going on, even though I do not think he knows us now but he is always happy to see us.

The staff at Abigail Lodge are second to none. They are the true assets of this care home! They provide a warm welcoming homely feel to the place and have been very supportive and accommodating during the 20 months Mum has been a resident, especially during this Covid pandemic when their hands have
been tied with various restrictions. As a family, we looked at many other care homes, most with excellent facilities, decor, grounds etc. However, having visited Abigail Lodge, we were so impressed with the staff that we decided to disregard the tired-looking decor at the interior and especially that in Mum's ensuite (which is far from the standard she was used to in her own home) and the very sad looking rear garden. Both staff and residents deserve some financial investment.

My father went in as a resident in November and after 2 weeks in quarantine, he is now experiencing the full benefits that Abigail Lodge has to offer. During December he has been involved in many fun events, being encouraged to join in, and after months of stress on my dad's face, due to health issues
and him missing all his friends before he went in the home, I have now seen the sparkle come back and my dad slowly settle. Yes, we are all missing the contact but the staff are doing everything they can possibly do to settle Dad and keep us in touch. Nothing is too much trouble - every phone call I make they make me feel welcome. They go out of their way to to make Dad comfortable, the latest example being moving him to another room, but they explained if he doesn’t like it it’s fine, they’ll move him back! That’s amazing, his wellbeing is above the work involved - thank you to each and every one of the “new family”. Each one of you deserves a medal!

A big thank you to all the staff at Abigail. My father has been a resident for over two years and the care and friendship the staff have shown to him throughout has been fantastic. When Dad first moved in they went out of their way to make him welcome, settle him in and most importantly soon had him
relaxed and content in his new home. Over the years the staff have kept myself and the rest of our family constantly informed about how Dads getting on, involving us in decisions throughout, whether regarding his welfare or just his daily life. This gives us all huge peace of mind, we can’t thank you all enough.
During the virus, things changed overnight. No longer were we able to take Dad out, have him round for Sunday lunch or just visit. Yet again the staff went above and beyond, keeping us updated with phone calls, website photos etc. and a video call between my father and my mother, which gave them both a huge lift. Thank you all.

Mam became a resident of Abigail Lodge in December 2014 suffering with Vascular Dementia. The staff were caring, helping both Mam and the family get used to the new environment. They took time to find out Mam's needs, likes and dislikes and when the family asked to move her room, this was accommodated
as soon as they could.
The activities co-ordinator was excellent, Mam went out on trips both in a group and on one to one occasions. Mam enjoyed this so much.
It was obvious when visiting Mam staff were so very caring with her, frequently stopping to kiss and cuddle her. Mam loved the attention. This gave the family great comfort especially during recent times when unable to visit. We knew Mam was receiving the best of care, love and affection from the staff.
Sadly mam passed away in May 2020.
We cannot thank the staff enough for the care, patience, love and dignity they showed to Mam. We will be forever grateful. Thank you Abigail Lodge staff and keep up the fantastic care and support you give all residents.

Outside of work, Claire enjoys spending time with her fiancé, children, and dogs, going on walks, and family holidays. Her personal achievements include buying her first home at 18 and being a proud mother to her two children.
