I knew I had made the right choice with regard to the care provider for my mam from the moment I walked in. Each and every staff member from domestics/chef/care staff/nursing staff made every effort to get to know her and adapted to her needs. They understood the transition from independence to being
dependent on carers was a difficult one and they supported her in adapting to this… they got to know her humour, her fears and despite being busy always made time for her… I knew she was safe and cared for when I could not be with her.
Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated to end of life and the staff were supportive to me and my family throughout the extended time we were able to spend with her before she passed away. They not only cared for her and preserved her dignity but they were also supportive of us.
Managers supported us during staffing issues to ensure my mother's care was not compromised in any way and I cannot thank them enough.

Excellent care home. The staff are really friendly and cannot do enough to help with any questions or concerns we might have. Nothing is a problem and my family member has settled in with the help of the many caring staff.

Excellent care provision. Staff are professional, courteous and above all friendly. My relative has received prompt medical attention when required and refers to the facility as a hotel. Loves the meals, the choice and the fact that the staff take the time to take him outside for a breath of fresh air.

I commend the staff for their diligence during lockdown. They have ensured my aunt has been safeguarded in light of medical needs. I find that the staff are always very helpful when I'm arranging visits and so on. Always greeted with a smile, they engage well with my aunt on leaving and returning. My
aunt tells me how friendly and caring the staff are and how flexible they can be around her particular needs. It's frustrating for my aunt to be in lockdown and the staff have managed the situation admirably.

This home has been an absolute blessing. My father was first welcomed into the home in the summer of 2021 after becoming quite poorly and needing 24-hour care. The staff made him feel at ease straight away as he struggled not being in his own home and they soon helped him settle in. I'd like to commend
the amazing care, kindness, trust and impeccable support they have given and continue to give to my dad and me. Nothing is ever too much for them, my dad loves his extended family and we are so grateful for them getting him to where he is now. Everyone in whatever role they work in Defoe deserves recognition as it is because of them that my dad is comfortable, happy, content and safe. Thank you each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.

All the staff are very helpful and caring. They treat residents like family. A good atmosphere. My mother has been a resident for almost seven years and is very settled here. The last two years have been very difficult due to Covid restrictions but the staff have been caring and supportive, keeping
me informed and when no visits were allowed kept us in contact via phone and iPad conversations. A big thank you to all the staff!

I cannot praise all the staff at Defoe Court enough. They made the most difficult time of my mum's final weeks the best experience possible for both my mum, dad and all the family. As a management team, you should be extremely proud of every member of the team. Amazing place, full of top people.

My gran is in Defoe Court Care Home and all the staff are amazing with her in there. They go above and beyond not just for my gran but for her family as well. The care and treatment towards my gran are second to none. There definitely has to be a special mention for the manager and nursing assistant
they go beyond their duties, you can tell this more than just a job to them.

Where do I start with the home manager and her amazing staff at Defoe Court? This last year has been the most heartbreaking time for residents, staff and families but we couldn’t be happier with the outstanding care my grandmother has received. As a family we have been able to contact my grandmother
daily via telephone and FaceTime, seeing her smile and be happy in her surrounding has meant the world to us when restrictions haven’t allowed us to visit in person. I would never hesitate to recommend this care home to friends and family. The home is always spotlessly clean and the staff show real care and commitment to their roles, my grandmother loves joining in with activities and loves showing off her nails when she’s had them freshly painted. The home manager is fantastic, nothing is ever too much trouble and is always a pleasure to deal with. It is so important that my grandmother is being cared for with such kindness and dignity.

I come to visit my grandad. My grandad highly speaks of the home and the staff that work there. They are always organised and provide my grandad with the care which he requires. They are always there to answer my questions and queries and are always polite and supportive.

I am happy with my Nana's care here. She appears happy. We are always informed of any issues and updates regularly. Brilliant we can now visit. The staff are very friendly. The staff always try to keep the residents involved with events. Excellent service.

Fantastic! Amazing!. I am so happy with the care my mum receives in Defoe Court. This past year has been truly challenging not seeing my mum as I am used to but I have been kept well informed of my mum's condition and have been safe in the knowledge that her care is excellent and she is happy. Defoe Court is the best carehome. Staff are very supportive and go out of their way to help. During covid, the home kept us updated with what was happening with my mother-in-law which is a great help when you couldn't see them.
