In such a difficult time I would like to highly praise the care given to residents by your dedicated and wonderfully caring staff team.
They are so hard working, friendly and cheerful and go over and above their role to make life as safe and pleasant as possible for residents and their relatives whilst
the home is locked down to protect the residents.
A special thank you to my partner's care worker who has gone out of her way to set up video calls with my partner. It means so much to be able to see that he looks well cared for and his happiness in being able to see and talk to me.
My partner was originally admitted as an emergency placement and I consider that we are so fortunate that Defoe Court was the place available. I could not chose a better home to care from him and am so relieved that he is able to stay on a permanent basis as the whole staff team treat him in a warm, friendly way making him feel he is one of the family.
I would highly recommend Defoe Court.

In the short time mum was at Defoe Court, she was treated with dignity and respect. She was given the best of residential care along with an excellent care package from the nursing staff. Everyone who has visited mum was keen to point out how friendly and approachable the staff were and how homely the
place felt. I appreciate the care given by all staff but must thank the nursing team for not only looking after mum but caring for the whole family. 5 stars all round.

Defoe Court is just like home from home even for visitors. The manageress and all the staff are fantastic, we, unfortunately, lost both parents this last year and the care and support we received was excellent. The range of activities is amazing and we are always made to feel welcome.

On the 6th January, we were told our dad was nearing the end of his life. This was a devastating moment but the staff were very supportive and caring. They ensured dad was comfortable through his last few days until he passed away on 8th January aged 91 years. Nothing was too much for them, they kept
us informed and they looked after us too. When he dies they comforted us and every one of them went to say goodbye to him. That showed us how much they thought of dad. They are an extremely amazing team. Each of them is dedicated to their job and the residents. We thank them all.

My mam has been in Defoe Court Care Home for 3 years now and have found the care she gets excellent. The staff are all lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is always plenty of activities organised for the residents ranging down from singers to making things with the nursery children
and trips out which my mam really enjoys.

My Grandad is currently at Defoe Court and the care provided to him is outstanding - it really feels like a big family.
All staff, in all positions, are very attentive, respectful, friendly, caring and maintain the dignity of the residents at all times. They go above and beyond not only for the residents
but for family members also - I have first-hand experience of this and am so appreciative of the support they are providing. If we have questions they are more than happy to answer them and keep us informed about his care at all times.
When I visit, I leave knowing that Grandad is in the best hands and this is comforting to know.
I highly recommend Defoe Court and cannot thank the team enough.

There are no words to explain the excellent time you will have spending time here. The staff, carers, nurses, nurses assistants, cleaners and management can't do enough to please you, never complaining and always ready to assist wherever possible. Your stay with them will be pleasurable and I would

My father was with Defoe Court until his death in July 2019 for a number of years. Suffering from an awful, debilitating illness he struggled to come to terms with his lack of independence. The staff, at the care home, did all they could to maintain as much of his independence as was possible, without
putting him at risk. They welcomed his wife, who visited every day, to be with him and behave as if he were in his own home. They knew his moods, his likes/dislikes and they made him so comfortable. Living so far away (Australia) the major comfort (apart from his wife visiting every day) was knowing he was loved and the staff were doing all they could to support him. During the last few days, the staff came in on their day off to see him to say their goodbyes. They did not have to do this and it just demonstrated that they had gained from their relationship with him too. He was not a number, he was not a resident, he was part of the Defoe family. I cannot thank you enough.

Whilst my nan has been in Defoe's care, the staff have been absolutely amazing. They're so compassionate and can't do enough to help. I know they've kept her as comfortable as possible and eased her transition whilst also ensuring family and friends have the support they need.

In all my experience of care homes, Defoe Court is one of the nicest places I have been to. Staff and carers acted with integrity, compassion and sensitivity. I could not have asked for better care for my mum.
I recommend this care home fro any loved one who needs that extra special care.

Visited Defoe Court with my mother whilst looking for a 24-hour care placement for my grandmother following a Stroke. From day one the staff went over and above their duty to care to make sure the transition from hospital to the home was as smooth as possible. Warm, welcoming staff at all hours of the
day, always going the extra mile to make sure our grandmother is taken care of empathetically and holistically. Nothing is ever to much trouble and the care and attention our grandmother receives is exceptional. The ‘cafe’ for visitors and residents is a fantastic facility, there’s always activities to engage with the residents if they want to participate, like harvest festivals to school children visiting! Staff are always respectful and promote independence, ensuring emotional, physical and spiritual needs are met for my grandmother. Huge thank you from our family to the amazing staff.

The staff are excellent!
They are very careing, attentive, friendly, approachable and helpful. They show a knowledge of their clients and make family and friends welcome including friendly pets. From a personal angle, my wife and I have found visiting my parent a more pleasant experience by the approach

I felt that my father would be well cared for and this proved to be true. He was unsteady and not capable of looking after himself any longer. He was cantacerous and awkward but received excellent care until he sadly went into terminal decline. The staff continued to look after the family as we sat
through his final days. I cannot praise the staff here highly enough. Excellent throughout.

Defoe Court is a well-managed care home. The staff cannot do enough in my opinion. We as a family were always made welcome and the staff deal with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner, treating the residents with dignity and respect. My father-in-law presented aggressively at times
and they were never fazed. I'm pleased we found Defoe Court and would highly recommend to anyone seeking a secure and caring placement for a family member.

My sister was in this amazing care home from October 2018 until mid-June 2019. My sister had a diagnosis of leukaemia and struggled with her own personal care.
