Defoe Court Care Home

I felt that my father would be well cared for and this proved to be true. He was unsteady and not capable of looking after himself any longer. He was cantacerous and awkward but received excellent care until he sadly went into terminal decline. The staff continued to look after the family as we sat through his final days. I cannot praise the staff here highly enough. Excellent throughout.

Defoe Court is a well-managed care home. The staff cannot do enough in my opinion. We as a family were always made welcome and the staff deal with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner, treating the residents with dignity and respect. My father-in-law presented aggressively at times and they were never fazed. I'm pleased we found Defoe Court and would highly recommend to anyone seeking a secure and caring placement for a family member.

My sister was in this amazing care home from October 2018 until mid-June 2019. My sister had a diagnosis of leukaemia and struggled with her own personal care. Throughout her time living at Defoe, all staff were amazing and very caring far beyond their job role. I speak from all the family and can't thank the staff enough for supporting my sister and us until the very end. The business manager was amazing. Thank you so much.

I am extremely overwhelmed by the care and support from Defoe, not only for the resident but also for friends and family. The emotional care and support alongside the physical care and support are outstanding. All staff work as an impeccable team - management included.

Highly recommend Defoe to any friends and family. The team is outstanding, working together and delivering the outstanding care they do every day. Also, management is outstanding and the care from even the management is unbelievable. I know my mother is well looked after and I don’t need to hesitate to leave her if need be for a day because she will receive all the support and care she needs without us being there. Defoe Court Care Home has been a blessing for my family. From the manager down, the staff are caring, helpful and very good at their understanding of their resident's needs. Each and every member of staff is kind and compassionate.

I spend a great deal of time here every day and I am so content with the care that he receives.

Whilst this is not home, I consider it my second home.

Lovely ethos, caring friendly passionate staff that go the extra mile to make my friend feel at home. Always welcomed with a smile and a hello every time I visit my friend, even get asked if I would like a cuppa! Took a couple of weeks to settle in but very happy now. Staff and management are very helpful and caring all day every day.

Mum has only been in the home for almost two weeks and is settling in better than we hoped for as she is being so well cared for by the wonderful staff. It was a very difficult decision for mum to leave her home but after a series of falls at home, thankfully no serious injuries sustained, the family and mum knew alternative care was required to keep her safe. The Home Manager and her dedicated team have made mum and the family feel very welcome and have made a difficult time much easier to cope with. We know it is early days and mum still has to adjust to the move but we feel confident the care and attention she is receiving will help greatly with the transition.
