Food is supreme! I had tea/coffee am and pm, with cakes and tunnocks.
My friends got them in Northumberland. Never got to Durham!

I visit my friend on a regular basis and find the care home to be very clean and well run.
The staff are friendly and caring, the food appears to be very well cooked and the menu varied. The staff are always cleaning and the dining room is set out in a very appealing way. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend

My father-in-law is so content he loves it. He's been in for one year and he joins in all the activities. Staff are wonderful, very caring and nothing is a bother. He enjoys his trips out with other residents and he is also in a man's club.

My father has been in Defoe Court for just over a year and he loves it. I am so pleased we picked this home. Every time we call in he is doing something, whether that be chair exercise, playing domino's, even joining in at the man's club. He loves his outings. The staff are brilliant, nothing's the

I recently visited Defoe court, having returned to Aycliffe and finding out an old neighbour had moved here. I was apprehensive due to the experience I have had with another home, from the outside the home looks tidy and I was immediately greeted by a young girl from the laundry. She was extremely helpful,
taking me to the room I needed and offered tea or coffee and a reassuring chat. The staff were busy caring for others but were all friendly and welcoming, the meal served at Sunday lunchtime was also offered to me and I must say it looked amazing.
The home was beautifully clean with no odours and residents and staff were laughing and joking together.
My neighbour looked clean and well and could not have spoken more highly about the staff. He told me it’s his happy home! I left feeling like I had visited one large happy family and I wanted to say to the staff of Defoe court... well done to all of you, you are doing an amazing job and have changed my view on care homes completely!

My mam recently resided at Defoe care home, as a family we were worried if mam would receive the excellent care we felt she deserved, we weren’t disappointed all the staff and I mean all the staff are brilliant with the residents and families. Nothing was ever too much, mam was always clean and tidy
and never did I feel mam had been left or her needs forgotten. We are a large family and visited several times a day at different times, on each occasion we were made to feel welcome, all questions answered, to be honest, we dreaded mam going into a care home but her medical needs became too much to manage at home. Defoe came close to what could be described as a second home, I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Having only a couple of hours to get used to having to go to Defoe Court due to my wife having an accident (and my only carer) understandably, I was very apprehensive. They have gone above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible and cannot fault the staff or home at all. It is also lovely
having the grounds to sit in or my wife being able to be with me during the day.

Realising that, being my husbands only carer, I could not care for him at home after breaking a bone in my foot, we managed to get the last available room at Defoe Court (5 mins away from home).
We found that the staff could not do enough for us to put our minds at rest and I was allowed to spend the
days with him which helped us both. Fully recommended.

Since my mother went into this home all the staff have been great.They are all friendly and helpful. I feel that mam now has more than just me as family as she is treated with love and respect. The home is clean, comfortable and mam seems really content. I would recommend Defoe Court Care Home to anyone
who needed care and treatment. I can't find fault with anything.

My father was very worried about coming to live at Defoe Court, however, from day 1 he was made to feel welcome and at ease. He can't praise the staff enough, enjoys the food and feels safe. I can now sleep easily at night knowing he is being cared for and is happy.

Since being in Defoe court my grandad has gone from strength to strength.. the care and support he has had in this time has been amazing. He smiles more.. has gained weight. The ladies who work there treat him like their own father. It's heartwarming to see.

The staff at Defoe Court Care Home are unfailingly helpful and courteous even when they are busy. The home manager is a real asset because she has gone the extra mile to facilitate my friend speaking to her son (who is abroad) every day on the telephone. This attitude is refreshing.

I cannot overstate how pleased I am with the care my mother receives at Defoe Court. She is so happy and every member of staff is so kind and loving to her it gives me great comfort especially as I live so far away. Brought my grandad to Defoe Court today for some respite care after a broken hip. He had been struggling at home alone but was worried about going into a home. I cannot begin to say how grateful we are to the manager and all her staff at Defoe Court for how easy they have made today. They made my Grandad
feel so at home immediately and he is already looking forward to joining in some if the many activities on offer. It was reassuring to see him so settled before we left him tonight and knowing he will have the support he needs to continue to recover from his surgery.
