Jack Dormand Care Home, situated just off the coast in the town of Peterlee, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential, nursing and nursing dementia care.

The home offers a comfortable environment for all residents with many living areas overlooking the coast. The onsite hair salon, wellbeing programme and lovely garden are a favourite amongst the residents.

Just like to say I have found all the staff extremely helpful and well informed.
The home itself is very clean and tidy, and you have the feeling of being made very welcome whatever time you visit.
The food from what I have seen is varied and looks very well cooked.
As I live a long way away,
it fills me with comfort knowing my Father is in such good hands.

Wonderful home, all of the staff are out of this world; very attentive and helpful. I cannot fault the home and staff in any way at all. They take a lot of the stress away from our family as we know our mother is very well cared for and we need not worry.

I have found the Jack Dormand Home to be welcoming, regardless of what time of the day I visit. Care and attention is paid to the residents. Rooms are kept clean each day and residents are taken out to events and meals.

I came to the home during a very stressful time as my wife was dying. The staff have helped me overcome this loss and have supported my family as well. I feel the home is spotlessly clean, the food is first class and the care I have and continue to receive is excellent and I would recommend Jack Dormand

What a fabulous care home! I have never met a more friendly and helpful set of staff. My nanna is here for rehabilitation after a stay in hospital, and after day one I have seen a massive change in her, she is smiling and looks much better in herself! This can be only due to the infectious happiness
radiating from the team. They are a breath of fresh air. The facilities are great too! With multiple common rooms and TV's music and more. I know my nanna will continue to enjoy her stay here.

The staff are super friendly and can't help enough. I feel very content to leave my mother in the staffs very capable hands. My mother is here for rehabilitation and after the first day, we saw a big improvement in her. I would recommend this care home as I feel they actually do care.

My wife has been a resident for a little over a month and I'm so pleased that she was recommended as I have recommended a friend. All staff are terrific and go beyond the call of duty. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The manager has some great ideas and keeps a good ship.

I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone. They looked after my father brilliantly right up to the day he passed away, 1st December 2017. Anything we wanted they were there to help straight away. I cannot thank them enough for all their help and making my Dads end of life more comfortable
and pleasant and would like to thank one nurse in particular for her support to me, the nurse in the white uniform. If you could let her know his funeral went excellent and no problems.

What can I say. The Jack Dormand Care Home and it’s wonderful staff are second to none. My 98 year old Grandad was cared for in his final week. After a distressing four months in hospital and care facilities he was moved to this fantastic care facility. The team at Jack Dormand cared for him like he
was one of their own family. Nothing was to much. The home has a were homely feel. The staff were not only caring of my Grandad, but also of me and my mum. We live in the south of England. They kept us up to date of all of his care. When he sadly passed and we visited the Home, we were treated with great kindness an compassion. Thank you so much to all of the staff.

I can't thank this home enough for how well they have cared for my father. The staff dedication and support is second to none. This home is unlike any other I have had to deal with. The family element makes the transition easy and the staff go above and beyond in their duties for residents and their

The level of care and cleanliness of the home was of an excellent standard. The care workers and management could not do enough to help. They were brilliant.
The rooms were nice and the food was nice and the activities were good.

Staff are very friendly and approachable. They are efficient, caring and will go that extra mile. My husband has only been in 3 months and found it hard to settle but with patience and understanding, and giving him dignity and respect he is adjusting well.


I am regularly informed of his progress

and of any changes in his needs. I cannot fault the care my husband receives.

My wife, during visits, insists I take her home. I completely understand this is due to her condition and I just wish she could understand as it causes problems and we tend to fall out. I find the nursing staff very caring and nothing is too much trouble.
My wife enjoys the occasional trip out and
returns very happy. She is so missed at home by me and the family but we are all very happy with the care she receives, which is second to none. I have very little knowledge of other homes.

Over the past 2 years, my Aunt has resided at Jack Dormand.
Her care has been excellent and all staff have been caring and compassionate.

Marie has gained over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Marie joined Jack Dormand as Home Manager as she closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She uses her experience to motivate her team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby organisations and is always quick to welcome the local community to Jack Dormand.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Marie remarked: “I just love having the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of our Residents.”


Outside of work, Marie enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.
