My partner's grandmother is in Lothian House Care Home and is very settled and happy there, she has made lots of new friends and loves the staff, the entertainment and the food. We looked at other homes before we came to look at Lothian House Care Home. The rest were not a patch on this home. We are so happy and so is all the family :)

After being temporarily in another care home, Lothian was like a "breath of fresh air". Staff from domestic to management are friendly, very helpful and all go that 'extra mile' building confidence with residents, family and visitors.

I would describe Lothian as being a 5* hotel for elderly residents. We can now sleep well as a family, knowing that our mother is well cared for and safe.

A big thank you to all the staff for the care and love you gave to my mam during the four years she was at the home. To say to was appreciated is a high understatement.

It was a lovely feeling knowing she was in such a loving environment with wonderful people looking after her. A huge heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you - I will never forget what you all did for her.

On Friday March 11th 2016. My dear friend was taken into Lothian House after her doctor was unable to get any nurses to sit with her during the night. Social services tried for hours to find her somewhere and she arrived there about 7pm the care and support she received was excellent, my friend is 94 years old in September and has not been out of her flat whilst been poorly and was treated like they had known her for years, now she says if ever she has to go anywhere again could she go there.

I have visited other care homes recently, I find Lothian House staff very pleasant and helpful I am always offered a cup of tea or coffee, even when the staff are busy. I find the home very clean and comfortable.
The only downside for me is seating for visitors in the main lounge. I have had to sit on a stool (foot stool) on occasion as I need to be close to my sister to understand what she is saying. This is not a great problem for me but could be for some people.

Activities are excellent, lots going on, my sister enjoys joining in, listening to he organist, chair exercises and trips out in the mini bus. I think Lothian have a good team who care.

Reply from HC-One, Careline Team at Lothian House Care Home

There are various lounges within Lothian House for residents and their relatives / visitors. We do encourage residents and relatives to have visiting time in the residents in own rooms as this enables a more private and quality time. Should visitors prefer to sit in the main lounge with their...

A very big thank you for the dignified manner in which you provided care and support to our dear mother and nanna. The staff always showed compassion, particularly at the end of her life. Thank you also for the support you gave to the family while she was on the end of life pathway.

When my aunt was first admitted to Lothian House in 2012 it seemed such a sad day. However over the last 3 years my aunt has been cared for with such love and exceptional care. I want to thank you for making her last years as happy and comfortable as possible. You all treat very vulnerable, sick elderly people with respect, love and care, which is such a blessing and comfort to family and friends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

As my time is almost up for respite at Lothian House the care I have been given is very good by all the staff. You have a very good varied menu and plenty to eat and drink. The home is very clean and tidy and you are treated with kindness and dignity and respect. When I have visitors we can go to a small lounge for privacy if we want to. All of the staff are very friendly and polite at all times.

Although I am a fussy eater the kitchen staff have always provided me with a good and varied diet of food. All of the staff are good, kind and considerate. The cleanliness of the home is very good and all the staff are courteous, polite and what ever you ask for its not too much trouble for any of the staff. I do spend a lot of time in my room but it's my choice and staff always pop in to see if everything is ok.

Lothian House can not be faulted. The care staff are second to none. The standard of care is no less than excellent, way above my expectations. I have had a few meals with my wife and you have a choice of meals you also receive a good portion nothing but very good and high quality food. I have always been treated as part of a family. The cleanliness is superb. This home is all I could have wished for my wife.

Big improvement in general health in particular dad's mobility as carers have encouraged and assisted him to walk. Carers are friendly attentive, kind and treat dad with respect. He is well looked after clean and tidy. Thoroughly enjoys food has regained weight he lost before moving to Lothian House. Lothian House has a warm, friendly atmosphere. Residents generally look happy. Dad is very content and happy at Lothian House and would like to remain there as her regards it as his home. High standard of cleanliness throughout the home.
