My mother is a changed lady after being in your care. All staff treated her perfectly and respectfully.
Someone is always on hand be it day or night. Food is very tasty and plentiful.

Absolutely amazing staff and carers. My dad came in for respite and wouldn't leave to come back home. He loved his time here. All the staff have helped bring him back from what we thought was the brink. He is a completely new person. Thanks a million.

After having experience in another care home, I found coming to Lothian House a much better, relaxed feeling knowing that my loved one was in a better environment. The staff have delivered the care and attention they said they would.
When visiting, everyone is friendly and courteous. The home itself
is warm and inviting with various activities taking place. Other family and friends who visit have the same feelings.

Since coming into Lothian House, my nana has made a huge improvement with how she is walking about. She looks well and dressed lovely every day with help from the carers. Everyone is lovely with my nan so I'm very pleased with Lothian House.

The residents always seem well looked after and kept entertained.
All the staff from the manager down are helpful, friendly and approachable.

My grandma came to Lothian as an emergency admission. She stayed for two weeks and then she requested to go home at her choice. The care she received was brilliant and staff followed her routine from home, with her wishes, respect and 100% dignity.

Very good looking after Dad as a resident. Staff were wonderful when Mum took ill when visiting him. They went the extra mile and always enquired about her health.
Dad is happy and has never complained to us about his care.

Absolutely brilliant I couldn't recommend the home enough. The staff are always professional and very friendly and approachable. The food that I've seen is lovely, the rooms are clean. My mam though, I thought a few weeks back wouldn't be here, has recovered marvellously down to the care and attention
she receives from the home.

Mam first came into Lothian for 3 weeks of respite care, but then did not want to go back home. She feels safe and well looked after and enjoys her meals, especially the glass of red wine that she always has with her meal. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and the home is clean and well kept.
The staff are very caring and treat the residents like family members. The garden area with its chairs and umbrellas has been a lovely area to sit during the hot weather. I would recommend Lothian House to anyone whose relative is needing extra care.

I have been in Lothain House for 4 weeks. I like all the nice people who are here. The staff are nice. I love my bedroom and one of the staff has decorated it for me with love hearts and wall stickers. The food is nice and I get more than plenty.

Jill Barlow

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2004

“I believe that kind care means putting someone else’s needs before your own and making them feel special.”


Jill has gained over 20 years of experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked at Lothian House for a number of years, Jill closely shares HC-One’s vision is aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Lothian House.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Jill remarked: “I just love the satisfaction of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our Residents.”


Away from work, Jill enjoys weekends away with her partner and socialising with her friends and family.
