Having experienced two nursing/residential homes before moving my mother into Lothian House I was delighted and relieved to find such a caring home for my 105-year-old mum. The love, respect and caring is second to none and they have encouraged her to keep walking and taking part in activities. Thanks to all the wonderful staff.

Lothian House is perfect in every way, cleanliness is defiantly next to godliness. No matter what I ask of the staff, they always deliver. The food is exceptional. Nothing is too much for the staff I can even have a cup of tea at 3am if I wish to have a cup. The manager's door is always open.

My mother has been in the care home for about seven weeks now and during that time, she has received excellent care and attention from the staff. They are friendly, caring and carry out their work in a very professional manner.

My mother is always well-dressed, clean and presentable. She is encouraged to join in afternoon activities and I think that this has helped her open up and feel she is part of the social group.

Her room is always clean and tidy. There is a varied menu for lunch and dinner, the food is good and the dining room is immaculate. Members of staff keep me informed about her progress and health and it gives me great peace of mind to know just how well she is being looked after in such a pleasant and safe environment.

The staff are always helpful and caring. They are always having fundraising activities to help the people who live there. Surroundings are very light and pleasant and there is a good choice of menu. The staff encourage all residents to share in activities and always ready to talk to relatives about the residents they are visiting. Overall a welcome atmosphere.

Lothian House is a friendly and kind place with hardworking people and a calm caring environment. I love that they have my mother singing which she loves and she is now part of a small 'choir' practising for Christmas - just as she did prior to coming to live here. I am very grateful.

(NB - do wish there was a 'very good' category between 'good' and excellent.)
