My family and I are very impressed with our first impressions of Melbury Court Care Home. Compared to a previous home my husband was in, the care and concern for his comfort are so much better, that now I’m not afraid to leave him there. This has taken a huge weight off my mind. I feel that staff and I are a team looking after his welfare, and I’m not a nuisance intruder, which is as it should be, but isn’t always the case. (We’ve been married so long I do know him very well and am glad to share that.) The staff are friendly and helpful even though they are so busy.
Though they have only known us for about a month, they very kindly made our Diamond Wedding Anniversary quite special, and something to remember. We all appreciated this consideration for us enormously. I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in arranging this, for all the time and trouble they all went to, above and beyond their regular duties.

I have no hesitation in recommending this well-run care home.

My dad spent a short time in Melbury Court prior to him passing away.
The care he, and ourselves as a family received was exemplary. We were treated with kindness, care and compassion making a very difficult time special for us, allowing family to be with Dad throughout his final days.

You are all amazing and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My mum has been a resident at Melbury Court Care Home since 2018. Over the years, my mum's dementia has got worse, yet the staff are always there to support and treat my mum with respect and dignity. Now we are able to visit in person again, it's wonderful to see everyone and see the genuine care and hear the laughter buzzing around the home again. Even though each and every one of the staff has carried unimaginable stress looking after our loved ones during these awful times, they are fantastic. It has also been wonderful to see the new manager and her team go from strength to strength, working hard to bring new and exciting changes to the home which is always great to see.

My dad was a resident from September 2018 until this week when he sadly passed away. I feel I must write to say how wonderful the staff were at this difficult time. He had been declining for a while but he was always looked after with the greatest of care, compassion and dedication. I cannot praise the staff on the Grace Unit enough, they are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. They supported us while we were with our dad in his final hours but allowed us privacy when necessary, they made sure he was comfortable and pain-free so his passing was peaceful.

His time at Melbury has been well spent, we were always confident he was well cared for and he always seemed content when we visited. Thank you to all the staff who cared for him, you have our heartfelt gratitude.

The care, love and compassion the staff display is phenomenal. I have no doubt that my mother would not be with us today without their excellent nursing care and attention. My mother has never been a number or just another resident, she has always been deeply respected, understood and loved by the staff. Whenever I call to see how she is doing, without missing a beat, I am given an immediate and detailed update. Until this week, due to the pandemic and living abroad, I have been unable to visit for two years and here’s what I found when finally visiting on compassionate grounds due to a very rapid decline in her health; a group of engaged, deeply caring staff, loving their residents and what they do each day. They are engaged, enthused and proud of their work. Even though the staff are visibly exhausted by the sheer weight of the extra stress dealing with the ramifications of this pandemic, they are still unquestionably doing the most amazing job. I unequivocally recommend the home.

My father has been a resident at Melbury for several years. Recently he has had a number of falls, the staff have been terrific in notifying myself and making necessary changes to my fathers room to accommodate his needs to eliminate suture falls within his room. The staff have been fantastic, and one of them even contacted me at home to see if I was ok as I had been upset by the trauma my father had experienced in his recent visits to the local hospital.

The staff genuinely care for my father and treat him as one of their own family, which is reassuring to myself and my brothers.

My mum has been a resident of Melbury Court for a number of years now. Recently the management and staff have been exceptional in their kindness and help over various aspects of her situation. Under very difficult times they have shown great dedication and continue to show compassion along with the caring duties they perform. The newsletter they produce weekly is a great way to keep everyone informed and the pictures included and that are on the entrance noticeboard just now show a lot of happy faces. We all wish things were different and Mum could still be in her own home but It’s a relief and comfort to all the family to know that Mum is in a safe and comfortable environment. We thank everyone there for all they do.

All the staff at the home are so attentive and caring and nothing is too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone wanting a special place for their loved ones to enjoy their later years.

Dad moved into Melbury in the summer, after being a resident in another local home.
He had such a bad experience there and we were desperate to move him.
Living far away and unable to visit Melbury, we were kindly given a tour via video call.
They asked about Dad his interests, likes and dislikes, his life story basically but felt they were getting to know him.
The transfer was all arranged by them and Dad was soon settled in to his room.
Not being able to visit often, whenever we ring we are always able to speak to him. Everyone is friendly and I never feel we are bothering them.
We are always kept up to date on his well-being or if he needs anything.
Also love the weekly newsletters.

Even though he’s not been there long would definitely recommend Melbury.

1st class service at Melbury court, my uncle is a resident in the basement part of the home. The girls that are looking after him 24/7 are doing an amazing job, he always looks smartly dressed, washed and shaved, they also give him regular hugs and make him feel safe and comfortable. Very impressed, keep up the good work, thank you for all you do!

My father was admitted to Melbury after a fall which led to him being admitted to hospital and subsequently Melbury. I had heard a number of good reviews about the home so was pleased when we secured a place. During all of the time my father has been residential, I have found the staff caring, professional and a credit to their job role. They always take time out to answer queries and provide help, I can’t praise them enough. My father has developed some challenging behaviour but the home has continued, in difficult circumstances re COVID, to care and go above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend this care home to anyone either seeking admission themselves or for a relative or friend

My mum was admitted to Melbury Court in December of 2020 following a decline in her dementia. Since that time, all of the staff at the Home have looked after Mum and us, as family members, with great care and devotion.
They have accommodated, video calls, phone calls, visits, window, garden and inside on every occasion this has been requested and I have always felt comforted that Mum's welfare and happiness has been uppermost in their minds.

I wish to thank every single member of staff for their care, now that Mum has passed. You all do a really tough job, amazingly well. Thank you so much from all of our family.

Finding a home for Mum was never going to be easy in itself. Melbury had been recommended but due to covid was not available and Mum went elsewhere which was not a good experience particularly as we were all trying to come to terms with her dementia. We moved Mum to Melbury as soon as possible in December 2020 and can say that she has settled in. The staff are lovely and no query or request is too small or insignificant. The family feel happy that Mum is settled, healthy and we do not have to worry about her care as the home and staff have been really great particularly in very challenging times.

My husband and I would like to say a very big thank you to all of the team at Melbury Court for the kindness and care they have shown Dad during such a difficult time. It has been reassuring to us and the rest of the family knowing that Dad was being well looked after and having his spirits lifted on his down days, and I know there have been many! Now we are able to visit and take Dad out again he is so happy and his happiness is shared by the staff, all greeting him with a cheerful smile on his return to welcome him back home.

So thank you again for everything you do for him, you are true heroes.

Mum resided at Melbury Court for about three years; she became an integral part of the community, respected by residents and staff in equal measure. The care Mum received during her time at Melbury was fantastic. All the staff, from management to the cleaners, supported both her and the family. We can only share our experience in these simple words but would not fear recommending you entrust your loved ones with the dedicated professional team at Melbury Court.

In August my mum who had been resident at Melbury for almost 3 years passed away after a long battle with MS and various other illnesses. However, Mum had all of her cognitive faculties and had made close friends in the home as well as with the staff. I cannot tell you how much love my mum felt, she was treated with respect, encouragement to persevere and genuine fondness by every single staff member. Towards the end, the staff talked fondly of Mum to us, and took care of me and my family as if we were their own. Most importantly Mum was given the gift of dignity and love in her final weeks. I recommend Melbury without hesitation for the kindness, love and genuine care all of the staff and managers gave to Mum but also to our family.

My relative has been in Melbury Court for six years. I have no complaints about her care. While on Lumley floor, my relative was very happy and enjoyed the company of the staff. The staff were always kind and caring.

My relative has been on nursing care most of this year and the staff are always helpful when I ring up to see how she is. I have nothing but praise for Melbury Court.

During Covid 19 we have been blessed to know that our mam has been looked after by caring staff at Melbury Court. It was wonderful to see her face to face, to hold her lovely hand (unsure who was more emotional, the staff or me!). Mam has deteriorated over this time with her dementia but I know the care provided is always genuine, warm and compassionate. It has been a very emotional and upsetting time for everyone but knowing that Mam is happy and settled, you cannot put a price on that. This is so comforting for our family and we feel totally confident, reassured that Mam is receiving the best possible care. We couldn't ask for any more. It has been evident that the priority of Melbury Court has been the safety of residents to protect and to care for them during this awful time. The measures that have rightly been put in place makes me feel safe to visit. The staff whom I talk with are always very helpful and cheerful, it's very much appreciated. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
